Where is RHR? I remember when she did the run heap run and her always giving DOB the business. I usually read and laugh at her clever statements and comebacks. If she is using another handle like I am now I don’t see the connection.

Bobby gets a B for the fact that he didn’t change the lineup (especially 1-4) during the second half, he was a Wayy different manager in Aug/Sept Than he was in May/June…

T-Hawkin–who cares? He’s handled the team quite well overall, and they’ve overcome a lot of adversity. Can’t really knock that job. Nitpick some moves here or there…you can do that to any manager. The overall body of work speaks for itself. We’re at 90 wins playing August and September without Chipper and Medlen, along with losing Jurrjens and Prado down the stretch. Not too shabby, I’d say.

Let’s give Bobby and A since he made the best out of what he had to work with in the financial crunch. I give much lower scores to the staff. TP – C- Cadahia – C- Snitker +D and McDowell B.

To you guys doubting the Braves chances in the post season.
1st we won’t have to face the philthys in the 1st round. That’s a plus for us making it to the NLCS.
2nd The Philthys have had some injuries this year but there due for one of the Big 3 pitchers to blow an elbow. I like Mr. Oswalt seems like a nice dude so I’d like to see Halladays elbow lying somewhere behind home plate during the first round.

I Don’t believe in Karma so not worried about wishing injuries on another team.

So Far Wren Gets A B+, Borderline A and that depends on what his trades amout to in the playoffs

Its Imperative that D-Lee Comes through in the playoffs, “since offenses are seriously measured upon what they do when men are in scoring position…” A quote from David Justice

Assuming we make the playoffs (Nick, please don’t bother to read this, as it is intended for folks with a minimum of a half a brain); how do you see our rotation rounding out?

Do we go with a strict 3 man rotation? In the NLDS it would only mean 1 pitcher going on 3 days rest, and if we start off with Lowe, he’d be the best bet to handle that sort of a rotation.

If we make it to the NLCS, then everybody goes to a 3 day rest situation for the entire series, unless we add in a 4th starter.

Same with the World Series.

My opinion, I would do the 3 man rotation for the NLDS and add a 4th man in the middle game of the next two series.

I like Lowe leading off, then Hanson and then Huddy. I sure hope Jurrjens will be capable of going during the second two series, as he would be ideal for the 4th game.

Dang I love this!!!

Kendrick career vs braves:
9 Games
8 starts
2.54 ERA

sept 2010:
1-3 5.06 ERA

season:
home 4-7 5.50 ERA
away 6-3 4.04 ERA

He has pitch really bad after !ug the 1st comparing to the his 1st few months.

He is 4-9 when the philies dont score 6 or more runs.

This season vs bravos:
2 starts 0.60 ERA 15IP no decisions. Both starts at the TED.

In conclusion………we are in trouble for tomorrows game.

Come on. 5 games to grade a GM. With a team that’s missing Chipper and Prado. You’re better than that.

Wren built a deep club that withstood a lot of bad luck and injuries. How many teams can insert Infante, Minor, Beachy, Venters, Dunn and Kimbrel on demand? The only knock against him, in my book, is the revolving door in left field. But that doesn’t mean he hasn’t tried to fix it, either.

To be honest, I think it is a bit goofy to try to assign “grades” to the management staff. They are a team. By going from where we were last year to 90+ wins this year, they all should get an A+ in my book.

I have no doubts that the Phillies would love to sweep us, but they are more concerned about getting set up for the Reds than anything else at this point.

But, there is a sense of pride that I am sure will cause them to put out a full effort, even if they are resting some regulars.

Hanson pitched well in 28 out of 33 starts this year. Halladay pitched well in 28 out of his 33 starts this year. Now granted, Hallady pitched better overall, but he can be beaten.

Same with Oswalt and Hamels. And if I’m a Phillies fan, the failures of Lidge last year would still be etched in my mind.

I heard Lidge a few days ago, and he sure sounds confident. No nagging injuries that he was experiencing last fall.

I wonder why are these athletes are paid the amounts of money they ask for. There are not durable. Just take a close look at our Atlanta Braves:

1. Chipper Jones O.F.S.

2. Medlen O.F.S.

3. Martin Prado O.F.S.

4. JJ Might be O.F.S. if we dont get some kind of miracle

5. EOF Might be O.F.S.

6. Saito Might be O.F.S. if he doesnt get a break

7. Glaus Aching knees

8. Hicks O.F.S.

9. Lee Aching back

10. Diaz Missed lots of games, never really made it back from injury.

11. JHey Missed lots of games, like if he was some kind of 30 something guy.

12. Nate Missed tons of games (Im glad it happened), That was a a direct hit, so he might be the only one with an excuse.

This is so wrong. All I have to say about this is that if the Braves make it to the WS, just getting there might be one of the most remarkable accomplishments Cox can be pointed at for. He will automatically become my hero, and I would change my nickname from Doc Holiday to “Bobby Cox you rule” for all of the 2011 season.

This is (was) a great team if you look at it deeply. Injuries have spoiled everything. Just think about it:

1. Omar LF
2. Martin 2B
3. Chipper 3B
4. Mc C
5. JHey RF
6. Glaus 1B
7. AGon SS
8. Nate CF

Huddy + Hanson + Medlen + JJ + Lowe

Matt + Henski + Cabrera + Ross

EOF + Moylan + Venters + Saito + Wagner + Kimbrel + Dunn

Man, could you just think about that for a second.

Would have the best record in baseball (maybe not the best team, but close to it).

Injuries have killed this team.

Phillies have had no major injuries, at least nothing that is costing them anything right now.

Not making excuses since injuries are part of the game.

Hudson Hanson Lowe Hudson Hanson.

Hudson would have to pitch on a 3 day rest.

Thurs Hudson
Fri- Hanson
Sun- Lowe
Mon- Hudson
Wed- Hanson.

I dont want to see Jair in the game at all.

Post season roster will be interesting.
I think we go with 6 bench players and 7 Pitchers.

If Saito is healthy then we have a tough decision to make as to whom we leave out of the roster.
Farnsworth vs O’Flarity ( one of those makes it)….. Farnsworth is a good pitcher. i would pick him and EOF might be injured.
Although we could opt to go with Jair or Beachy for the final spot.

Hitting.
I feel Braves have to carry the weak hitting Hernendez due to Injury to Prado.
I think the last spot will come down to GLAUS VS freeman.

Glaus is a big bat but i feel Freeman will be chosen because when we Pinch run for LEE then Freeman will come in as the replacement and Glaus cant run or field but honestly If we clinch on Friday. I would like to see Glaus be given a chance to play 3B to see what he can bring to the table.

I personally don’t care who we face, just get in and see what happens. Ideally, facing SD or Cincy would be best, but it’s not like SF is all that. Lincecum can be beat, so can Cain and Zito. I honestly think if we get in and SF is the first challenge that we easily match up with them. Our lineup is better and our pen.

First things first and that’s obviously for us to not go into the Philly series lightly. Need to come out the gate full force, clinch the WC and rest a few bodies.

In the playoffs I dont like the idea of having Ankiel Mclouth Conrads and A Gone Hitting 5-8.
That just wont get it done.

We need to start Hinske in left and have him hit 5th or 6th and sub him for Ankiel or Mclouth later in the game.
The way our batting order will be constructed we would have a chance to score once every 3 innings and that translates to 3x a game. Aganist the Giants we need hitters who can hit esp with the pitching they have got.

Those games aganist the Giants will be tight and i feel the difference really will come down to who is hitting behind Lee.
Hinske i feel is the difference maker. I just dont see us scoring runs with combo of Mclouth Cabrera-Ankiel. .

I dont think Giants can be beaten easily. Their lineup is solid. 1-8 can hit. You dont have any superstar there but they can all hit. They dont have any blackholes like we do.
Logical choice would have been to move Conrad 2nd and shift everyone else down so that way we have some force with our number 5-6 hitters.

Bobby is stubborn so I dont see J-Hey hitting 3rd. That would mean from 5-9 we would have
5.Mclouth
6.A-Gone
7.Conrad
8.Ankiel/Cabrera
9.Pitcher.

Aganist a team like Giants those are 5 easy outs. If Bobby wants to hit Heyward 2nd then i feel our number 5 hitter should be Hinske. Keep one of Ankiel/Mclouth at CF.

I dont have a good feeling about the series. I am a big Braves fan but deep inside I feel we will lose.
Bobby has to make some changes.
Giants scare me more than the Phillies do.

but the starters really weren’t that much better than the ones who relieved them when they got injured. I just don’t agree that keeping them all healthy would have made them a great team, at least by my definition of “great”. it’s all just opinion anyway. they certainly lived up to my expectations as a team if not as individuals, which makes it one of Bobby’s best managing jobs too IMO ;)

D.O.B.

As Much as we go back and Fourth over the years (Since 05) How has this year compared to 05 as far as the Blogging experience goes…? Especially since the team hasn’t made it to the postseason since then. From my standpoint its gonna be 3X as rough because you were on the Down Low Back Then (Then means no one knew who u were…)

There was no near as many people on the blog in 2005 as there are now…

And we will be saying Thanks Bobby over the weekend, but a lot of people will be saying thanks D.O.B…

You know that you are the Current TBS especially for those who can’t get the games…! Nuff Respect! And Do me a favor…? Bump That Old Mariah “Honey” Song That Song is still on Point!

Logical choice would have been to move Conrad 2nd and shift everyone else down so that way we have some force with our number 5-6 hitters.

I see absolutely nothing logical about that idea. Conrad is terrible at getting on base his only real asset is some pop and some timely hitting, definitely NOT what you want in a #2 hitter

DOB

Perhaps the explanation ought to be the inverse for some to understand.

No-one traded for in Sept can be on the post-season roster. Anyone else can.

noleeee.

Conrad will see pitches to hit with Heyward Mac and Lee after him.
Do you like our current lineup- batting order?
what we have now is weak.

1.Infante
2.Heyward
3.Mac
4.Lee
5.Mclouth
6.A-Gone
7.Conrad
8.Ankiel
9.Pitcher.

Do you like the above line-up? Conrad hitting second moves everyone down

I do not want to see Conrad hitting second. He has never gotten on base worth a damn in the majors no matter who followed him, that is not his game. Hit him 7th or so but not second. He just does not have the required skills of bat control , hitting behind the runner and good OBP. Giving a guy who makes outs 68% of the time the second most at bats on the team is a recipe for disaster IMO

so our infield has ZERO, zero again what we started with.

and our outfield has one starter we started with.

our fifth starter won one game, jjj never started the year and finished, hannson is under .500, and we are two games away from making the playoffs.

If somehow Reds can win their last 3 games and Giants lose their last 3 games.
We will end up meeting the Reds.

The best team in the central didn’t even make the playoffs. THE CUBS.
Seeing their past 4 games. I wonder where they went wrong.
They got good starters. Big Z Dempster, and Wells can match with any 3.

Great Bullpen.
good offense.

Reds just dont have the pitching to win anything.
