P-Town – Brooksy was late with a throw to 1st but Derek got out of it by getting the next guy to ground out.
September 29th, 20104:52 pm
Will Omar make an out on the first pitch? We Jason swing at terrible sliders in the dirt?
WE NEED RUNS!!!!!!!!!!!
S Cousins singled to left. 0 0
E Bonifacio walked, S Cousins to second.
L Morrison grounded into fielder’s choice double play, pitcher to shortstop to catcher, E Bonifacio out at second, S Cousins out at home.
D Uggla safe at first on throwing error by third baseman B Conrad, L Morrison to second.
G Sanchez grounded out to second.
Thanks MI. Looks like this umpire has the same deficiencies we’ve seen behind the plate all series. As long as he’s consistent.
ugh, game’s blacked out on ESPN in Nashville and I don’t get SportSouth or Peachtree TV… guess I have to deal with just the audio again.
September 29th, 20104:53 pm
Cy Young winner, Andrew Miller pitching today.
Lowe had to throw a few extra pitches in that first inning, finished with 22
heyward needs to go yard here
Omar sucking as of late. Lots of weak pop-ups to the outfield. Here comes Jason to swing at all sliders low and unhittable.
September 29th, 20104:54 pm
Glaus could not be any worse than Conrad at third. Play glaus through 5 then Conrad lol. He doesn’t hit till the 6th inning anyway
Why throw Jason all fastballs out of the zone? He won’t chase those. Bad scouting report. Nice walk by Jason.
way to get onbase jh
September 29th, 20104:55 pm
Need D-Lee to produce here.
diaz needs to jump on one now
damn it diaz…..take a pitch!!!!!!!!!!!!
Really nice swing by Diaz there. Looked like a sure double.
September 29th, 20104:56 pm
This ump really sucks calling balls and strikes
For those that have been blacked out, try this site:
BL – Jerry Layne has the plate today.
September 29th, 20104:57 pm
Uh-oh the dreaded RISP MONSTER (he wears sunglasses) —–>
September 29th, 20104:58 pm
OH Yes he can, Glaus is much worse than Conrad!!!!
September 29th, 20104:59 pm
C’mon Alex, pull your hands IN!!!!!!
Those are hittable pitches!
A-Gon trying to pull everything and they pitch him away.
agon pulls everything anyway
September 29th, 20105:00 pm
Leaving work but will be listening in the car.
Damn it RISP curse strikes again. Good time for me to go.
Andrew Miller cannot be beaten
Brave4life- We almost had it
Great, Gonzales. Perfect.
A-Gon just has no idea what he is doing at the plate. That’s how you get yourself a lot of homers and a career .300 OB%
September 29th, 20105:01 pm
The only positive there was Miller had to throw a couple more pitches than Derek did, so the strike zone appeared to be consistent, at least.
Corky Miller's Beer Gut
they braves suck with RISP…..or is it RIP
September 29th, 20105:02 pm
Andrew Miller will throw a no-hitter against these losers.
It is clear from your posting about Conrad’s close and late inning stats that you have the opinion Brooks is ‘clutch’. Surely you know, that if you have read Moneyball, that there is no such thing as clutch.
miller cant beat anyone ‘cept the bravos
September 29th, 20105:03 pm
And here comes the great Derek Lowe to give up some early runs.
September 29th, 20105:04 pm
I predict that neither pitcher will last very long in this game because the ump is squeezing the shyt outta the strike zone.
Nova Scotia Steve
Lowe struggling today…
September 29th, 20105:05 pm
It’s going to be a long day for the pitchers with this strike zone! Or should I say a long day for the bullpens?
or not getting the calls – i haven’t been able to watch closely yet….friggin work!!!!
September 29th, 20105:07 pm
Wow, what is a strike today!?!
September 29th, 20105:08 pm
That’s the way – if they swing and miss, the umpire has nothing to say about the strike.
That was a much better inning…
September 29th, 20105:09 pm
nice job Lowe, where were the first few months of the season
Now lets get some runs
September 29th, 20105:10 pm
I switched over to watch sports south instead of ESPN and Lowe struck out the side
September 29th, 20105:12 pm
Gift to Ross. need to score 1 right here.
McFann :Ô: :Ô: :ô:
September 29th, 20105:13 pm
If McCann had hit that, it’d have been called an error.
Who is doing the Braves radio broadcast?
September 29th, 20105:15 pm
September 29th, 20105:16 pm
Snitker actually stopped him? Kinda surprising…..
Good hit Melky!
I’m sure Soph is very excited for her guy on that hit…
September 29th, 20105:17 pm
Need Infante to deliver right here. need these 2 runs to get some breathing room.
September 29th, 20105:18 pm
Come on Omar!
AGAIN! Infante is the better 3B; Conrad can play 2B. Whye does The Old Man insist on placing the square peg into the round hole???
I just looked at the lineup. The Old Man is AGAIN a blithering, nose-picking idiot. Conrad needs to bat second, Heyward third.
how about next inning we try that “scoring” thing, I hear it helps wonders for winning
Infante showing absolutely no patience at the plate so far today.
September 29th, 20105:19 pm
INFANTE DOESN’T DESERVE TO QUALIFYING FOR THE MINIMUM AT BATS.
THE GUYS SUCKS.
SWINGS AT FIRST PITCHES. CANT DELIVER AGANIST ANDREW MILLER .
September 29th, 20105:20 pm
I know it sounds dumb, but the way this team struggles to hit i woulda let my pitcher swing there. Lowe has just as much chance to drive in a run as half this lineup
veer, you’re going to have a stroke… take it easy man.
damn you would have thought that he’d take at least one pitch there
September 29th, 20105:21 pm
Give Glaus a chance.
That’s exactly what I thought the whole entire AB in the 1st inning. Dude had 3 pitches up in the zone he could’ve hit up the middle or to RF, but he’s trying to pull the ball & get full extension. He pulls his hands in & stays behind the ball, easy base hits….
“INFANTE DOESN’T DESERVE TO QUALIFYING FOR THE MINIMUM AT BAT”
when you look at where his average was at the start of the month (.346) compared to now (.325), even if he did manage to qualify he probably wouldn’t win it
September 29th, 20105:22 pm
man glad lowe is looking good
Anybody else think Cox shoulda let Brooksy bunt Ross to third?
Try to have runner at third and one out?
sorry to question Bobby during appreciation week …
BL, Jerry Layne is the plate ump today.
Braves have wasted a couple of chances already.
P-Town Brave ©
September 29th, 20105:23 pm
So let me get this straight…
Snitker tries to score BMac from 1b on a play to RF from 2 MUCH stronger arms in Stanton and Uggla, yet stops Ross at 3b on a not so hard liner to LF to a guy who’s only been playing the position for a few months, has a particularly weaker arm, AND just dropped a flyball…
WOW…so glad I wont have to see Snitker come April of next year
How about inventing a new term:
take your pick
They should be reaming this stiff, and they’re letting him off the hook. Every day is a Greek tragedy with this lineup.
September 29th, 20105:24 pm
this douche pitchin has an 8era and we cant push one across.
gotta get ‘em in boys.
snitker is useless
September 29th, 20105:25 pm
Anyone else feel like Omar may be gassed?
Why can’t Diory get in there somewhere?!
September 29th, 20105:26 pm
yeah i think omar needs a break….i guess a little late now
Wow that looked like strike 3
As I said earlier, as bad as the Braves are, Braves vs. San Diego
Braves team OPS = .739
Padres team OPS = .691
maybe that’s why it looks like we’ll probably pull out the wild card
good lawd not diory. he’s useless too
Lowe struck out five in a row before Morrison’s two-out single in 3rd. D-Lowe looks like an entirely different pitcher since returning from elbow problem.
September 29th, 20105:27 pm
This team needs to go see a voodoo priestess ASAP. Not even the ‘62 Mets were this futile!
Who is this Lowe
Lowe is a big game pitcher, isn’t he?
He thrives for this time of year.
To all the Lowe haters…
The guy is clutch September and on…worth every cent…so great to see it
September 29th, 20105:28 pm
And now that I have finally gotten back to my office, what in the heck is wrong w/ Gameday?!
“INFANTE DOESN’T DESERVE TO QUALIFYING FOR THE MINIMUM AT BATS.
THE GUYS SUCKS.
SWINGS AT FIRST PITCHES. CANT DELIVER AGANIST ANDREW MILLER .
Yet, Infante is still batting over .300 points better than you.
NOW GET SOME RUNS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
September 29th, 20105:29 pm
And sadly, they have Adrian Gonzalez…
I would say Ludwick and Tejada have fallen off what they used to be, even though they are sure upgrades from what the Pads had previously had out there…
we need to score atleast 2 runs this inning. I would have bet my life that Braves would score alot of runs aganist this dude who has an era higher than the minimum american wage.
I had him going 3 innings and allowing 5 runs.
Can the Braves go with a 1-man rotation in the playoffs?
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
