Seriously, if Wagner were to change his mind about coming back, the saves record might be one reason. A renegotiated contract would be another.

My answer is a flat “No!”, with a rotation of Hudson, Lowe, and Hanson; and a bullpen of Wagner, Venters, Kimbrel, Moylan, EOF, Dunn, & Martinez (long relief).
Yes, in my roster, McLouth and Farnsworth are out.

Jake-I was his college roomate at U of Delaware of the original so I’m sure he’s all for what my commentary spells out. I’ve been a Phiily fan all sports for 45 years. Not a frontrunner just ecstatic that the baseball pundits aren’t considering them a great team but a team that may go down in history as one of the best. If they put their offense together I almost can’t see them losing a playoff game where I think the Braves will take the opposite result, not winning any. You basically lost the heart and soul of the team with Prado who was a gamer personified. IF by some miracle the Braves win their series I’ll be back. This next series is a mini version of spring training.

Anybody amazed by what Wagner has done this season? Outside of the slide after the break when he gave up some bombs to lose games he’s blown my expectations away. He has a lot of easy innings and flat out dominating most of the time and especially of late. I didn’t expect him to be this good quite frankly.

The Braves have three known slots – Chipper’s, Prado’s, and Medlen’s. They can have more by disabling JJ and Saito, so Freeman and Diory are in.

If an eligible player is injured and unable to play a club can call up any player in the organization regardless of their roster status* provided that the replacement player plays the same position (position player for position player and pitcher for pitcher), the replacement player was in the organization as of the August 31st deadline and they finished the season in the organization, and they receive approval from the commissioner.

BS! Losing Prado hurts, yes, but did you see the last two games? The Braves will drive on. Besides, Prado was already playing injured and not that well before the knockout blow.

Okay, I KNOW that Prado is done for the year and has a 0% chance of coming back, but this is hypothetical because I’m curious…
What if Freeman took Prado’s roster spot, but then Prado miraculously healed and was ready to come off the DL during the playoffs? Are DL’ed players DL’ed throughout the playoffs, or are they allowed to come back when healthy?

Amidst all of the Pixie dust, the reality is this: Without Jurrgens, we have only 3 SP for the playoffs. After Lowe, Huddy, and Tommy, there is a black hole the size of Montana! No Medlen to fall back on, and Beachy or Minor won’t cut it vs Playoff clubs. Maybe we can smuggle Smoltz in for a start or two…………..

Game of what if’s. A week and half ago Colorado up 6-1 in LA and ready to sweep the Dodgers and one game out of lead in the west. Bad call on a doubleplay that Furcal was called safe in extras and they lose. What if Rockies when that game how different this week would be. Can’t say I am too disappointed.

KK will be the Braves #1 priority to dump in the offseason. Nate will be 2nd. With Lowe’s performance this September and Medlen’s injury I would be surprised if the Braves move him. I would be absolutely shocked if the Braves were to move Lowe and eat some of his salary

many of us living outside of Atlanta dont get the feed of sports south and Peachtree. I get it because of MLB extra inning but dont have the luxury of watching the pre/post game interviews with the players, because they they only provide the game only. Is it possible You and the rest of the staff could do a live feed when they clinch (hopefully) inside the clubhouse. ESPN only shows like 1 minute of it. I am just asking if its possible??? I want to see the celebration

good questions raised about the post-season roster, if we can be fortunate enough to make the post-season. THe Braves cannot relax against the Phills- even if they are seeing backups. Win the series versus the Phillies and the Braves are in regardless of what the Padres do tonight.
If I were making a 25 man roster for the Braves in the post-season:
SP – Hudson, Hanson, Lowe, Beachy (or Jurrjens if healthy)
Regulars – McCann, Lee, Infante, Gonzo, Conrad, Heyward, Melky, and Nate
RP – Wagner, Venters, Dunn, EOF (if healthy), Kimbral, Moylan, Saito (if healthy), Beachy (if Jurrjens is healthy)
Bench- Hinske, Diory, Ankiel (possibly a start or two, definitely a late inning defensive replacement), Freeman; Ross
That only leaves possibly 1 more position if the Braves take 7 relievers and 4 starters. Glaus versus Diaz. If Jurrjens is able to start the Braves will take Beachy as the 8th reliever – he deserves it and would be the backup for Jurrjens if he struggled or ended up not being able to start despite being placed on the roster at the beginning of the series
