I’m a Brave fan in Florida so I see the marlins a bit, I like the scrapper Dan Uggla and a few others but that organization needs new ownership in a bad way.

Maybe Loria realizes the Marlins won two World Series while the wife beater was becoming the losingest playoff manager in baseball history. Hall-of-Famer from April to October, typical Bobby Cox to say that Loria is unappreciative because his manager can’t complete the job- ‘playing your butt off’ still makes you a loser, Bobby.

I’d like to see the Braves run up the score and win huge sunday. Then, bobby could make a comment after the game referring to the marlins ownership sucks.
Wouldn’t happen though. Sadly enough, Bobby has too much class to do that.

Considering how Bobby feels about the dimwit ownership of the fish boys I’m betting he really doesn’t mind the “snub.” The ones who really missed out were the true baseball fans in Florida who would have enjoyed the chance to show their appreciation for the many years of service from a class act.

Does anyone remember when the Marlins owner got rid of Girardi after he had one of the franchise’s best records in history with a very low salary? Who won the world series last year? Yankees managed by Girardi. This only proves how ignorant that organization is! I give that organization another 5 years before they move off to another city somewhere. They have no fan base anyway. High schools have better attendance than they do.

Bobbi Cocks got drunk and beat his wife, She called 911. Remember his bizarre conduct prior to game 4 of the WQS v. NYY? He wandered around NYC like a warped yo yo. Then, after they lost (again) he hid in the locker room bawling like a little girl and made Smoltz go out and talk to the press.

It would easy to say Jeffrey Loria is a loser but actually the guy may be the smartest business man in baseball. Somehow he convinced major league baseball to not only take over the Expos but to also throw in the Marlins so that Bud Selig’s good buddy John Henry could dump the Marlins and buy the Red Sox.

Wow alot of us seemed surprised??? This a team and orginization that had firesales the off year after world series victory. I mean the only team to do this of this nature, they are not loyal to the next year the players that made them a world champion with large financial bonus. Yeah lets start to expect class from them now because that makes so much sense. The worst part is our own club does not play them as the trash they are. We pillow fight with them and everyone thinks they play the Braves hard, no we bend over for them when we should step on their throats!!!

Loria’s further cements himself as the worst owner in sports and a complete carpet-bagging scumbag.
The man that drove a once-proud MLB franchise into the ground in Montreal, stole all team records/scouting reports and took them to Miami upon the 3-team sale transaction back in 2003 (he even asked to take Vladimir Guerrero and Javier Vasquez as well – which MLB denied), embezzled millions of dollars from his ownership counterparts in Montreal and Florida taxpayers.
Loria and his midget stepson should both be in prison.

Clueless redneck. Perhaps you missed this little stadium that is being built on top of where the Orange Bowl once stood — its about 50% done. And of course you are clueless as to why there is low attendance. The stadium is 30 miles from most of the population, it rains almost every game, and its a damn football stadium – the seats are not at angles conducive to watching a baseball game – you get a crick in your neck after watching a game there.
Most Atlanta fans are clueless hillbilly rednecks.

Oh and as for getting rid of Girardi, he was gone before his argument with the owner. His stupidity caused Josh Johnson a year of his career and forced him to get Tommy John surgery. He put JJ back in a game after a 90 minute rain delay. He screwed up his arm. Girardi didn’t win a world series, the players did. If he is still the Yankees manager in 5 years when Jeter, Rivera and A-Rod are all gone and lets see if he wins then.

Why would anyone expect Loria to okay any special honors for Bobby after what he said about Marlins ownership? Bobby’s a big boy, he knows there will be a backlash after he publicly slams another franchise. I seriously doubt he expected otherwise; why some fans did is beyond me.

Since when does everyone retiring, first ballot HOF or not, get a tribute from every team? You’re all hooked on this because some idiot organization started doing this and the others begrudgingly followed suit until the Marlins refused. Name the last time someone got a farewell tour before retiring. Why should they tribute someone that did nothing for the organization except criticize it? He’s always been a rival. It would be an insult to the Marlins organization and their fans (all 10 of them) if they honored Bobby Cox. Do you really think the Mets, Phillies, and Nationals are planning on honoring him? They’d be stupid to do so. Plus, the Marlins gave him a parting gift — a loss.
