PURE EVIL and lame: Sept. 5, Braves at Marlins
September 5th, 20109:01 am
[...] Marlins won’t honor Cox; payback for his comments? | Atlanta Braves. [...]
September 5th, 20109:07 am
There wouldn’t be anyone there to see it anyway. Worst fan-based franchise in baseball.
September 5th, 20109:16 am
I’m a Brave fan in Florida so I see the marlins a bit, I like the scrapper Dan Uggla and a few others but that organization needs new ownership in a bad way.
September 5th, 20109:59 am
Who cares, just sweep them to finish out the season. What are they going to give him anyway, a cuban defector’s float?
September 5th, 201010:24 am
Maybe Loria realizes the Marlins won two World Series while the wife beater was becoming the losingest playoff manager in baseball history. Hall-of-Famer from April to October, typical Bobby Cox to say that Loria is unappreciative because his manager can’t complete the job- ‘playing your butt off’ still makes you a loser, Bobby.
September 5th, 201010:26 am
I’d like to see the Braves run up the score and win huge sunday. Then, bobby could make a comment after the game referring to the marlins ownership sucks.
Wouldn’t happen though. Sadly enough, Bobby has too much class to do that.
September 5th, 201010:42 am
Why it’s a Ruger, thank you
September 4th, 2010
Jane you ignorant slut…enough said
Brad, apparently a guy can also be an ignorant slut. That cranial-rectal inversion is showing.
Bas Tid suffers from the same affliction as Brad — girly-men often do.
Same goes for the rest of you whiny haters. Bobby IS destined for the Hall of Fame for the great job he has done as a coach. Whatever you think is not only nonsense it is completely immaterial. You might as well pee into the wind.
Considering how Bobby feels about the dimwit ownership of the fish boys I’m betting he really doesn’t mind the “snub.” The ones who really missed out were the true baseball fans in Florida who would have enjoyed the chance to show their appreciation for the many years of service from a class act.
September 5th, 201010:53 am
The way to pay them back is to beat the hell out of them today!!
September 5th, 201010:55 am
Oh, the “TWO versus ONE World Series wins over the recent past” argument.
Tell me if you’d want to swap organizations, Braves and Marlins, based on that factor. If so, then we’ll just have to agree to disagree. If not, then STFU.
September 5th, 201011:09 am
The Marlins are a “bush league” team with a “bush league” owner.
September 5th, 201011:16 am
Soul Bro, you don’t get it! She’s supposed to pay you $20.00.
September 5th, 201011:54 am
Does anyone remember when the Marlins owner got rid of Girardi after he had one of the franchise’s best records in history with a very low salary? Who won the world series last year? Yankees managed by Girardi. This only proves how ignorant that organization is! I give that organization another 5 years before they move off to another city somewhere. They have no fan base anyway. High schools have better attendance than they do.
September 5th, 201011:55 am
F you too Jane.
September 5th, 201011:57 am
Bobby should get tossed in the 1st inning just for kicks. Then instruct his pitchers to ‘head hunt’…start a bench clearing brawl in front of the 100 fans.
September 5th, 201012:05 pm
Bobbi Cocks got drunk and beat his wife, She called 911. Remember his bizarre conduct prior to game 4 of the WQS v. NYY? He wandered around NYC like a warped yo yo. Then, after they lost (again) he hid in the locker room bawling like a little girl and made Smoltz go out and talk to the press.
Facts really upset braves-pimps. IOW, truth hurts, don’t it?
September 5th, 201012:06 pm
It would easy to say Jeffrey Loria is a loser but actually the guy may be the smartest business man in baseball. Somehow he convinced major league baseball to not only take over the Expos but to also throw in the Marlins so that Bud Selig’s good buddy John Henry could dump the Marlins and buy the Red Sox.
September 5th, 201012:13 pm
who really cares…its not their job to put on a display for a division rival. just go out and play baseball.
September 5th, 201012:25 pm
Wow alot of us seemed surprised??? This a team and orginization that had firesales the off year after world series victory. I mean the only team to do this of this nature, they are not loyal to the next year the players that made them a world champion with large financial bonus. Yeah lets start to expect class from them now because that makes so much sense. The worst part is our own club does not play them as the trash they are. We pillow fight with them and everyone thinks they play the Braves hard, no we bend over for them when we should step on their throats!!!
September 5th, 201012:37 pm
“Jane.. you ignorant sl*t”
September 5th, 201012:51 pm
The only way the Braves can get payback is to beat the Marlins today.
September 5th, 20101:22 pm
I’m sure Phillies Fans will show our Appreciation for Bobby on September 20th!
September 5th, 20101:28 pm
Now that’s the kind of Bobby Cox “tribute” I was hoping for! Go Fish!
September 5th, 20101:39 pm
Sounded like another lowlife traitor “Hanoi” Jane making the comment at 8:55PM!

Bas Tid… yes, the truth hurts….. let’s see….
Bobby Cox will be a first ballot Hall of Famer – Truth
Bobby Cox is one of the winningest managers in history – Truth
Bobby Cox was named Manager of the Year by the Sporting News EIGHT times – Truth
Bobby Cox is considered, by anyone who knows anything about baseball, to be one of the greatest managers that ever lived – Truth
Bobby Cox is LOVED by the city of Atlanta – Truth
Bas Tid was last seen interviewed by Chris Hansen in “To Catch a Predator” – Truth
September 5th, 20103:11 pm
Loria’s further cements himself as the worst owner in sports and a complete carpet-bagging scumbag.
The man that drove a once-proud MLB franchise into the ground in Montreal, stole all team records/scouting reports and took them to Miami upon the 3-team sale transaction back in 2003 (he even asked to take Vladimir Guerrero and Javier Vasquez as well – which MLB denied), embezzled millions of dollars from his ownership counterparts in Montreal and Florida taxpayers.
Loria and his midget stepson should both be in prison.
September 5th, 20103:17 pm
classless as always on Loria’s part; jane and tas- you need to see if you can get season tickets next year to the Marlins you two and Loria DESERVE each other classless jerks
Braves Fan Since "80
September 5th, 20103:34 pm
The way the Marlins have preformed against the Braves, they hate to see him go
September 5th, 20103:38 pm
Boy class act from the Marlins, but what do you expect from a team that trades every player insite after both times they won the World Series.
September 5th, 20104:16 pm
The Marlins had to save their money for their Eric Gregg tribute spectacular they’re planning for their new stadium. They’ve only so much class to draw on.
September 5th, 20106:34 pm
Hope we hire Fredi…………….
September 5th, 20108:42 pm
No surprise. The Marlins have no class, their management has no class, and their fans — both of them — have no class.
Braves #17 Fan
September 5th, 20109:02 pm
I’d rather have just one World Series Championship and the century of class that the Braves have, rather than the legacy the Marlins are building. Low attendance, low class.
September 5th, 20109:11 pm
Not many comments on the Miami news web sites about their victory. It seems the Marlins’ are on the same track as the Expos.
September 5th, 20109:39 pm
Clueless redneck. Perhaps you missed this little stadium that is being built on top of where the Orange Bowl once stood — its about 50% done. And of course you are clueless as to why there is low attendance. The stadium is 30 miles from most of the population, it rains almost every game, and its a damn football stadium – the seats are not at angles conducive to watching a baseball game – you get a crick in your neck after watching a game there.
Most Atlanta fans are clueless hillbilly rednecks.
And I agree with not honoring that old drunk. On top of that he is a wife beater. A truly despicable man. F**k Bobby Cox.
September 5th, 20109:46 pm
Jeff said :
yet another clueless redneck. The Marlins are staying in So Fla for at least the next 35 years (its in the lease agreement). They are 50% done with their new stadium you clueless rednecks. It opens in April 2012.
September 5th, 20109:48 pm
I’d snub Bobby too!
September 5th, 20109:49 pm
Oh and as for getting rid of Girardi, he was gone before his argument with the owner. His stupidity caused Josh Johnson a year of his career and forced him to get Tommy John surgery. He put JJ back in a game after a 90 minute rain delay. He screwed up his arm. Girardi didn’t win a world series, the players did. If he is still the Yankees manager in 5 years when Jeter, Rivera and A-Rod are all gone and lets see if he wins then.
Heard It All Before
September 5th, 20109:59 pm
Why would anyone expect Loria to okay any special honors for Bobby after what he said about Marlins ownership? Bobby’s a big boy, he knows there will be a backlash after he publicly slams another franchise. I seriously doubt he expected otherwise; why some fans did is beyond me.
September 5th, 201010:18 pm
hey Jane F you.
September 5th, 201010:20 pm
screw the jerk. Most people don’t remember him beating up his wife in an alcoholic rage, and losing so many playoff games with the best pitching staff ever. Most overrated Mgr ever
September 5th, 201010:30 pm
Bringing up Cocks’ “accomplishments” in baseball as an alibi for his drunken wife-beating is not unlike saying “Yeah, so OJ killed his wife, but he was a great RB.”
September 5th, 201010:44 pm
Please. The Marlins are the same team who have Scott Stapp from that loser band Creed sing their in-stadium songs.
September 5th, 201011:10 pm
The Marlins lead the league in fans dressed as empty seats.
Wife Beater cox
September 6th, 20109:14 am
why do you people defend him. he’s an a**hole wife beater
September 6th, 20109:51 am
Since when does everyone retiring, first ballot HOF or not, get a tribute from every team? You’re all hooked on this because some idiot organization started doing this and the others begrudgingly followed suit until the Marlins refused. Name the last time someone got a farewell tour before retiring. Why should they tribute someone that did nothing for the organization except criticize it? He’s always been a rival. It would be an insult to the Marlins organization and their fans (all 10 of them) if they honored Bobby Cox. Do you really think the Mets, Phillies, and Nationals are planning on honoring him? They’d be stupid to do so. Plus, the Marlins gave him a parting gift — a loss.
September 7th, 20104:39 pm
ON BEHALF OF THE PEOPLE OF MIAMI, I THANK YOU FOR YOU “CLASSY” COMMENTS ABOUT US, WE ARE NOT THE MARLINS, BUT YET YOU HAVE INSULTED US. THANK YOU
AS TO THE MARLINS, YES THEY HAVE NO FANS, NO BIG NAMES, YET THEY ARE 2 TIMES WORLD CHAMPIONS.LOL
