WIth Heyward, Ankiel, Melky, Diaz, and Hinske, why do we need Nate in the post-season? I would rather have Freddie or Glaus as a bench player than have Nate as a bench player. No they are not OF but we do not need another OF on the bench especially one that can’t hit and doesn’t throw

The Rangers and Mets are discussing a deal that would send Joaquin Arias to the Mets for Francoeur, according to Heyman (on Twitter). The Rangers designated Arias for assignment last week to make room for former Met Alex Cora, of all people.

Now, I would never argue with you just for the sake of arguing, you know that right?
Anyhow, I was thinking the same thing. But if you’re going to think that way, then you have to feel the same way about Cox leving Minor in.
Niese had thrown less pitches. The mess that was started by the HBP, was compounded by the error.
Minor was one bad pitch away from giving up 4-5 runs that inning as opposed to just the 2.
Niese could have EASILY been out of that inning without giving up any runs without the error.

Forgot to add DOB, sometimes a manager can find out a lot about a young pitcher in an outing like this, moving forward towards next year.
Sometimes just gotta let a kid take his lumps. Only way how to learn how to get out of messes like that and pick up your teammates is to be given the opportunity to do so.
I can remember Glavine and Smoltz both being left in too long early in their careers. But the Braves were 10, 15, 20 games out of first place.
So why not? What better time to do it?

SCOTT PROCTOR WILL GET A CALL UP with a 7.08 ERA in AAA in 31 games and Stephen Marek won’t with a 1.51 ERA in 46 games AAA.
The only logic I can think this would make sense is that Marek has pitched a lot and is showing signs of fatigue, and Proctor is fresh finally getting in a groove and he has the experience etc.

It is great to listen to Mets announcers, especially Ron Darling and Keith Hernandez. They question and criticize everything and call the umpires, players, and managers wrong no matter which team is screwing up or being burned. When the Braves play them, listen as it is far more informative. Of course when the Braves play the Dodgers in LA, you have to listen to the incredible Vin Scully. Otherwise, the Braves guys are cool, especially when Smoltz or Glavine are doing the color and analysis.

Since acquiring Derek Lee Braves offense has exploded. In 10 games they’ve scored 70 runs. 7 runs per game not counting this one.
