Thank goodness the Dodgers are so far not playing like the Padres.

And I’m still wishing they woul measure just how far your mann’s helmet bounced in the air.
Haha, yeah, totally! He and MattE were pickin’ on the celebration, but I thought it was fine! No one else has had one like it!
I believe the old boy has found his secon…..er…..third wind !
I think he has! He’s in one of those stretches now when it feels like he’ll never go 0-fer again, even though he did on Friday! And just…last week, I think it was, I was asking for one of those stretches!
I thought so; just wish his back wouldn’t have acted up so we could have seen, say, 19 or 20 years of a career instead of about half that much.
noleeee, I’m getting back in the saddle and I appreciate your asking. Seems as if I remember the 1st of September being an important date as far as a return engagement with your doc. Am I right and how’re the lungs?
Takes heart. And grit. Steve
add intelligence and that’s pretty much the definition of a catcher
August 30th, 201011:07 pm
Check out the Rays on SportsCenter.
I think the Braves can claim the biggest crowd of the three division leaders.
So there you have it.
Atlanta has pennant fever. Feel the fever.
Steve from OH
August 30th, 201011:08 pm
Feel the fever.
It’s a’burnin inside me now! Lawdy!
Where’s my Cipro?
its good, love it so far, finally settling in, school started last monday. the weeks leading up to the semester starting were hectic because we have to personally advise every student and there are only 8 of us in the nursing dept. that along with all the newbie orientation and procedures was very hectic.
VIN! ♥ ♥♥♥♥♥ !!!!!
How ironic would it be for the Phillies to have a perfect game pitched against them in a game in which Halladay started?
Bartholomew (Bat) Masterson
Don’t exert yourself there Mitchell.
Bay Area Steve–
For the love of Pete, first I can’t use “stingle” and now I can’t use “snap”? Man…this is getting to be too much! You’ll drive me to cuss yet! (And I have no real clue as to where it came from, BTW.)
fastasballs McCann is red hot as well.
August 30th, 201011:09 pm
Well today was big hag as it was my birthday. Got a couple appts in Sept but things are going ok lately. down to just a daily sulfa pill.hope that keeps working for a while
Just how many winds has he had this year? And, isn’t it great to see that grin—like after he droppd that beautiful bunt tonight and had Chipper howling on the bench !
Phillies with no hits . . . coming up in the 5th
August 30th, 201011:10 pm
Just add an s to “heart” and you’ve got it!
August 30th, 201011:11 pm
pants on, steve.
its the mets.
How was the blog tonight? One big giant lovefest?
Fine. I’m going to bed. I refuse to put my pants back on at this hour.
August 30th, 201011:12 pm
happy birthday nolie. my netbook can’t do hearts or i’d give you some hearts. imagine 10 hearts here.
Hmm…I’m not sure. He’s had quite a few. Glad that foul off his foot doesn’t appear to be anything to worry about! The Braves need him and my Worry-O-Meter is just about worn out!
isn’t it great to see that grin—like after he droppd that beautiful bunt tonight and had Chipper howling on the bench !
It sure is!! LOVE that grin!
Do you think Braves would actually start Glaus at 3B, Infante in LF, Prado at 2d and Lee at 1B against a LHP? Or is Diaz in LF just as strong with the other three playing their regular positions?
August 30th, 201011:13 pm
You did it, Trey!
Happy Birthday, Nolee!
From the SI Vault. Bob Horner about playing for the Swallows.
“It wasn’t any one thing that made life difficult,” says Horner. “It was a compilation of things—not understanding the language, not being able to read the street signs or the menus, not being able to buy magazines. Coming back with a lot of mystery foods from the supermarket—it looked like steak or chicken, but was it steak or chicken?”
Well, Happy Birthday, noleeee; It did indeed feel as if something special was in the air this morning!
Remember when you used to say “Don’t trust anyone over thirty”? What’s the operative phrase now?
(Or can it be printed in the “family” blog?
Well how about that…. Happy Birthday nolie
August 30th, 201011:14 pm
Happy birthday nolie!
Happy birthday, Nolie! See, another year older and yet nothing changes
August 30th, 201011:15 pm
August 30th, 201011:16 pm
Ja, the hearts are fun…I gotta use them more. Shoulda been rackin’ ‘em up for BMac lately:
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
One for each hit.
My bad, it’s just a no hitter to this point. Werth was hit earlier in the game.
August 30th, 201011:17 pm
I am lovin’ this game.
Go go, no-no.
Let’s get some runs Dodgers.
Just noticed that Jayson Werth was hit by a pitch his first time up — so no perfecto for Kuroda. However, he’s still got a no-no in tact through 5 innings. Also, once Werth was on base, Ibanez grounded into a double play, so Kuroda has faced the minimum so far.
Wow, how late am I? I just found out Martinez was sent down and Kawakami was brought back.
August 30th, 201011:18 pm
that phrase totally ruint my 30th birthday hag, it’s hard to be paranoid about yourself.
now I’m hopin’ that 65 is the new 50
* Report this comment
still the minimum because of DP. so still perfect according to espn.
If the Phillies get no-hit, are they as bad as the Braves?
McFann, sure they are. You could put the hearts around your turtles, as well.
Good night RHR
It’s nolie’s birthday?
Happy Birthday, noleeeeeeeeeee! My eeeee partner in crime.
August 30th, 201011:19 pm
UKUGA, worse, because at the end of the day they will still not be in first.
Happy Birthday Nolie!
YAY another run!!!
One lil’ ol’ pill a day. Sound like a good start !
August 30th, 201011:20 pm
cabravesfan, you should drive to the Dodgers game one of these three days and sport an ATL Braves hat and do the T chop. Show ‘em how real fans do it.
August 30th, 201011:21 pm
So many hearts. Were we giving a tutorial?
A shot by Barajas.
Dang Nolie, I thought you were over 68.
August 30th, 201011:22 pm
Any baserunner & the game is not perfect, regardless of what ESPN is reporting.
How many words rhyme with “heart”?
Just messin’ with ya. I hope you had a good one!
if someone wants to pay for tickets (and parking) I’m all over it!
“that phrase totally ruint my 30th birthday hag, it’s hard to be paranoid about yourself.”
Yeah; but I’ll be Jerry Rubin never threw out a runner at second !
August 30th, 201011:23 pm
cab wouldn’t even Marteeeen for me at the last game she went to.
If Arizona can hang on & finish off the Pads the Braves are only 1/2 of a game back for the best record in the NL.
August 30th, 201011:24 pm
Halladay is making me proud, for once!
cabravesfan, maybe you can find a hustler on the street for a nice discount!
August 30th, 2010
That is what i thought…..I dont care as long as philly loses…..
Happy B-Day Noleeee!

Rays fans making those who come out to Turner not look so bad. Leo got all over Braves fans today on the radio. First time I’ve heard him get passionate about something that wasn’t a Greg Maddux flashback story.
Depends — do the Phillies lose or win in getting no-hit?
One would think that they’d lose while getting no-hit, but it’s certainly possible for them to score 3+ runs without getting a hit. Highly unlikely, but possible.
@fastball, the Braves are also tied with Cincy with the excalt same record.
“It’s nolie’s birthday?”
“Happy Birthday, noleeeeeeeeeee! My eeeee partner in crime.”
Plus, he was the author of that universally adored nickname, Santa Glaus. Man’s had an incredible year and the season ain’t near over !
August 30th, 201011:28 pm
Sean Casey on MLB network just said ” there was a stewardess on that ball” speaking of Zimmermans bomb in Florida ….. absolutely hilarious.
August 30th, 201011:29 pm
Prado had his 51st multi-hit game of the season tonight, tying Ichiro for MLB lead before conclusion of Seattle’s late game.
Soph – I was “Marteeeening” for both of us…
August 30th, 201011:30 pm
I’m not that worried about Cincy for some reason. They are a good team no doubt, but if the Braves start clicking on offense I don’t think they will stay tied with them for long.
August 30th, 201011:31 pm
Trey You could put the hearts around your turtles, as well.
Hmm…wonder if that would work…
Thanks for the goods.
I though of you today as I devoured a large sandwich, a large stew, a large order of fries, and a large , sweet iced tea–all for a not-so-large price– at Tucker’s Barbeque, (put on the map by one Monroe Tucker in 1947) down on lower Broadway in Carroll Rogers’ old haunt, Macon.

Still a no-no through 6…
Well, Mighty Merle is on Letterman tonight so I’ll see you good folk a littlle later.
McFann, it may. You got those little symbols above the O O. Unless you did the alt button and those side key numbers.
August 30th, 201011:36 pm

August 30th, 201011:37 pm

August 30th, 201011:38 pm
92.5% win expectancy for LA tonight
McFann, it looks great.
August 30th, 201011:39 pm
Thanks, haggard! I’ll at least keep this until BMac takes his next 0-fer. And we got Pelfrey comin’ up, so there’s a chance it could be a while!
It worked! Nice smiley, BTW!
August 30th, 201011:40 pm
The Pirates were mathematically eliminated from NL Central contention tonight.
….Is the Offense back after averaging over 8 runa a game over the last 3 games…? – Tomahawkin
Dunno man, hope it is. Been blistering balls lately. Likin’ that!
Haha, thank you.
August 30th, 201011:41 pm
You are welcome, McFann!
Utley & Howard have done zilch since coming back. Hopefully it stays that way for a while.

Money quote from Prado, on Heyward’s game:
“I’m not surprised. Since I saw that guy in spring training, I knew that he’s going to be one of the guys that’s going to change everything with this team. As he goes, we go.”
