Aroldis Chapman clocked at 105mph tonight!
August 30th, 201010:30 pm
Are those empty seats I see at Chavez Ravine?
Say it ain’t so!
May be its a good thing that J.Hey isn’t one of those dare devil type outfielders. It would just lead to more injuries. With that being said, I think he’s an above average outfielder.
August 30th, 201010:32 pm
The game just started…check back in the 4th and there will probably be more people…at least for a few innings
Why wouldn’t it be half empty on a Monday during the school year against a bad team?
That clip still cracks me up Joe and Boog are awesome…can barely speak
August 30th, 201010:33 pm
Dumbfound, the Phillies trolls are on Mark Bradley’s page.
Something tells me that there are at least 7 games left on the home schedule for which TF will be packed.
Anyone want to guess which ones?
August 30th, 201010:34 pm
watching baseball tonigth and realized cards only over 9 games over 500 now—didnt see that one coming
August 30th, 201010:35 pm
@Trey, Whoops ! I didn’t check that !
August 30th, 201010:36 pm
School or not, there should be more people at the game. This is exactly why the rest of the country views Atlanta as a “bad” sports city. You think it would be half empty in Boston, NY, or Philly during the school year?
Last time I checked Atlanta was Atlanta and we do things a little differently down here. Why do we have to be compared to the northeast anyway? We get it, you people would drop everything to be at a pro sports game. Why don’t you compare us to other teams from the south or other teams that have urban sprawl like Atlanta combined with a high number of transplants.
By the way, in terms of division leaders in the NL Atlanta is drawing the highest average attendance. Why don’t you guys go b***h about San Diego and their attendance with the best record in the league.
Someone tell Karl Ravech that if the tarp weren’t there, then a smart Braves fan knocks that ball away from Ike Davis. It’s the logical move.
August 30th, 201010:38 pm
Dumbfound, a lot of them talked about their attendence, yet they would not answer my question about their only two WS titles.
August 30th, 201010:40 pm
Dodgers threatening again.
Jake…..We are also one of the few clubs who have not sold naming rights to their field……The Ted is still “the ted”–wasnt sure how long that would last with Liberty Media writing the checks–but so far it has
Excuses Trey !! Excuses !
Brave4life-1995 all over again??
August 30th, 2010
18,842 fans at the ole ball park
Need more fans to show up
Check out the Reds highlights. That place is anything but capacity.
Some of you might recall that in the ‘95 NLCS Riverfront Stadium was not sold out. There were multiple sections in the upper deck in that series that were empty. I guess if you don’t remember it’s understandable. It was a while ago. I remember it though.
It’s not just the Braves. I’d love for Tuner Field to be sold out the rest of the season but I know I’m going to be there in the final week. I should probably know better based on what happened last year but it’s too late.
I think if they make it Braves fans will represent in the playoffs.
Ol’ Halladay ain’t all that sharp so far tonight. Lots of pitches early- 22 to get three outs.
August 30th, 201010:41 pm
Yeah! Too funny… The only game on my ‘Pod in which BMac does not play…but I had to have that one!
And I see the Medlen Dance didn’t take long to get uploaded to BravesLove. He so looks reminds me of this one cousin of mine right there!
Go Joe and Dodger Blue….just win baby!
August 30th, 201010:42 pm
First and third, none out.
Dumbfound, well that’s all they are. Their team is a sorry excuse for a Major League club, Jayson Werthless is a sorry excuse for a human/caveman whatever he may be, their cheesesteaks are sorry excuses for real food.
Put Tommy Lasorda out at the third base and let him coach em up
August 30th, 201010:43 pm
Dodgers up 2-0
I was chatting with LT when he did his dance! She was kind enough to load it right away (she knows about my love of all things Meds )
Game day showed the first pitch for the third out as a called strike way off the plate. Game day must be acting up, or something.
August 30th, 201010:44 pm
WTF is it with the attendance obsession on this blog??
Brave4life-1995 all over again??
Hahahaha! Kinda hard not to know about that. I saw your comment, BTW. So did you copy-and-paste all those hearts or what?
August 30th, 201010:45 pm
hey watch it about the cheesesteaks thar Trey
Dodgers got another run but the DP got Halladay’s pitch count back in line. He’s thrown 30 through two innings. Would have liked to have seen him run it up a bit more, but glad LA leads. Fatigue has to catch up to the Phils at some point with all these games in a row.
August 30th, 201010:46 pm
Ooooh, McFann showin’ a mean streak….
just saw on Baseball Tonight where Don Mattingly hit homers in 8 consecutive games in 1987….ashamed to say I remember that season and I think that was his MVP year but didnt look it up….either way 8 straight games with a homer is incredible.
Of course! I just wish they turned into actual hearts
Trey, Leave the cheesesteaks out of it!
August 30th, 201010:47 pm
I can officially become an anti-Padre supporter! Go D’Backs!!
NC State Nate
UKUGA.. agreed. This is Braves Country.. or whatever the PR slogan is this year…
Reds have only 14,000+ tonight ….
What mean streak?
That would have looked great: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
My fault tonight nolie. Mentioned that the Mets announcers were giving Atlanta hell. Never mind that they average 3K more a game in the largest city in the US.
Screw Keith Hernandez.
@noleee, Because the Mets play by play men was ragging on the city of Atlanta not going out and supporting the Braves ! They are just mad because their Mutts are having another bad, bad, season ! And thing that they can stick, they throw it ! Just hatin !
Steve from OH
August 30th, 201010:48 pm
RHR “ballgame!”-ing a Phillies game? Mixxo’s not gonna like that very much…
Still don’t know how to make the hearts on here either…
nolie and fastaballs, sorry , I like cheesesteaks too, but I prefer some country fried steak!
Good Night everyone.
August 30th, 201010:49 pm
Westgadave Mattingly won it in 85 and was 2nd in 86.
August 30th, 201010:50 pm
i was actually ballgaming the braves win from an hour ago tho.
I hate the Phillies!
For what it’s worth, Ohio schools started back last week in most places (I live in OH). No surprise the Reds are light either.
Any thing, sorry !
Nine up, nine down and 18 to go.
Reds win, they keep pace with the Braves …..
August 30th, 201010:51 pm
Yeah. His stache is trash.
I remember he had some huge years in his prime Noleee, but Im old…..was just too lazy to go to BR tonight
thought you were raggin’ on CAB about not knowing how to make hearts. maybe I was wrong McF
August 30th, 201010:52 pm
Kuroda’s lookin pretty good tonight. A great pickup on my fantasy team. It’d be nice to see him walk away with a W tonight.
Halladay can’t hit a lick. Philly has to be thinking about DFA-ing him.
Bartholomew (Bat) Masterson
August 30th, 201010:53 pm
That was a fun game to watch. Heyward can play a little, eh.
August 30th, 201010:54 pm
Podsednik buntin’ like it’s 1999.
He ain’t beatin’ out many of those anymore I wouldn’t think…
Though he wasn’t a member of that rarefied species known as “catcher”, I’ll bet Mattingly was a favorite of yours. Am I right?
heyward has just been resting up for his ROY push. its on like donkey kong now, suckers.
yeah he did Dave, but the power didn’t stay around long enough for HOF,
August 30th, 201010:55 pm
The ESPN guys were giving the Braves hitters a lot of love tonight.
Type & hearts ; without the spaces!
No, no! I wasn’t ragging her! Just wondering how she had time to type that many hearts!
August 30th, 201010:56 pm
Heyward? Looks like April and early May again!
yeah I like Matty <b<hag . good all around player. how you been?
Hey, haggard! Did you catch the game yesterday??
2 out double for Ethier… Kemp up.
designated for assignmenting him?
August 30th, 201010:57 pm
The Braves offense is very capable of piling up some runs if Lee can get hot. Heyward is on fire right now, kid is putting on a laser show of late.
I think the Sept call ups are going to help the Braves more than the Phillies. Freeman will make a little noise & Glaus will as well. The Braves will get some help in the pen, the bench & the field.
Heyward and Heap hitting the ball hard changes the dynamics………… a lot
Pss pss pss! cabravesfan…you forgot the semi-colon!
Never mind. Waytago!
I noticed that eventually! Thanks!
August 30th, 201010:58 pm
well I butchered that hag name up above.
Couldn’t figure out fow to fit that into a sentence, J-Hey. DFA kinda became a verb somewhere along the line didn’t it?
Halladay out of trouble.
oh hey that means hudson has surpassed halladay for the best era in the NL
August 30th, 201010:59 pm
“its on like donkey kong now, suckers”
That looks a little too current to be one of your father’s famous gems. Is it yours? It’s good!
HI RHR ♥♥♥ ya
August 30th, 201011:00 pm
nolie! hey sweeties, was wondering about you during the in game yesterday. how ya been?
August 30th, 201011:01 pm
And it’s funny how that catcher guy going 13 for his last 24 with 2 Doubles, 2 homers, 6 RBI, and only 2 K’s cann almost change a fann’s entire perspective on his season. I mean, now it doesn’t look quite as bad as it did on, say, the 22nd.
Can you postemptively “ballgame!”? I was under the impression it was reserved for “Braves down 1-0, top of the 2nd.”
doin’ ok thanx. are you all settled in now, and hows work?
Haha, yeah, sorry.
Yes I did ! And I’m still wishing they woul measure just how far your mann’s helmet bounced in the air. I believe the old boy has found his secon…..er…..third wind !
August 30th, 201011:02 pm
oh no Steve, I do it much earlier than that
Like April and May only better and more confidant. Remember, two or three weeks ago when many here claimed the Heyward experiment was over, the Kid had failed. I do
August 30th, 201011:03 pm
Gotta admire that kind of moxxy from nolie. Willing to “ballgame!@#!” that early.
Takes heart. And grit.
Bay Area Steve
August 30th, 201011:04 pm
RHR: pants or no pants for this win?
To wherever McFann got “snap” from: tell her to use it less. She’s oversnapping.
Anders: good of you to show up this last month, while your team hovers at .500. Real good of you. I used to think you were only around when the Braves struggled, but clearly, this last month…
August 30th, 201011:05 pm
McCann is red hot as well. He’s like Chipper that he can pile up HR’s & RBI’s in a very short amount of time when he’s on.
If Lee can get it going or some combination of Glaus/Lee hitting in the 4 spot the NL had better look out. Freeman will some AB’s, but he’ll bat no higher than 6th on a good day.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
