May be its a good thing that J.Hey isn’t one of those dare devil type outfielders. It would just lead to more injuries. With that being said, I think he’s an above average outfielder.

School or not, there should be more people at the game. This is exactly why the rest of the country views Atlanta as a “bad” sports city. You think it would be half empty in Boston, NY, or Philly during the school year?
Last time I checked Atlanta was Atlanta and we do things a little differently down here. Why do we have to be compared to the northeast anyway? We get it, you people would drop everything to be at a pro sports game. Why don’t you compare us to other teams from the south or other teams that have urban sprawl like Atlanta combined with a high number of transplants.
By the way, in terms of division leaders in the NL Atlanta is drawing the highest average attendance. Why don’t you guys go b***h about San Diego and their attendance with the best record in the league.

Check out the Reds highlights. That place is anything but capacity.
Some of you might recall that in the ‘95 NLCS Riverfront Stadium was not sold out. There were multiple sections in the upper deck in that series that were empty. I guess if you don’t remember it’s understandable. It was a while ago. I remember it though.
It’s not just the Braves. I’d love for Tuner Field to be sold out the rest of the season but I know I’m going to be there in the final week. I should probably know better based on what happened last year but it’s too late.
I think if they make it Braves fans will represent in the playoffs.

Dodgers got another run but the DP got Halladay’s pitch count back in line. He’s thrown 30 through two innings. Would have liked to have seen him run it up a bit more, but glad LA leads. Fatigue has to catch up to the Phils at some point with all these games in a row.

just saw on Baseball Tonight where Don Mattingly hit homers in 8 consecutive games in 1987….ashamed to say I remember that season and I think that was his MVP year but didnt look it up….either way 8 straight games with a homer is incredible.

The Braves offense is very capable of piling up some runs if Lee can get hot. Heyward is on fire right now, kid is putting on a laser show of late.
I think the Sept call ups are going to help the Braves more than the Phillies. Freeman will make a little noise & Glaus will as well. The Braves will get some help in the pen, the bench & the field.

And it’s funny how that catcher guy going 13 for his last 24 with 2 Doubles, 2 homers, 6 RBI, and only 2 K’s cann almost change a fann’s entire perspective on his season. I mean, now it doesn’t look quite as bad as it did on, say, the 22nd.

McCann is red hot as well. He’s like Chipper that he can pile up HR’s & RBI’s in a very short amount of time when he’s on.
If Lee can get it going or some combination of Glaus/Lee hitting in the 4 spot the NL had better look out. Freeman will some AB’s, but he’ll bat no higher than 6th on a good day.
