Cheshire … the best part was when you said “no offense, but ….”

Always amuses me when I hear/read those three words, because almost assuredly something offensive is about to follow.

It’s like when someone says “with all due respect, …..”
You know something disrespectful is coming.
Just makes me laugh.

Yeah! that’s some BUM of a RF we got here!

Joe, if you put the crack pipe down long enough, you will realize that you need to read posts and try to gain context.

Heyward swinging the bat like he does has absolutely NOTHING to do with his ability as a DEFENSIVE outfielder. He isn’t anything special on defense. He can have a 4 homer game tomorrow and perhaps win the triple crown next season, it won’t make him a better defensive outfielder.

He ain’t no Clemente out there on defense. He looked like a left handed sissy on the ball hit over his head in the fifth.

Joe, believe all the hype you want to. Heyward is a four tool player. He can hit, hit with power, he can run, he can throw…… BUT…..he’s really average running the ball down though.

My philosophy….when team is going bad, cheer for them with my eyes wide open. When the team is winning, don’t complain, still with my eyes wide open. Either way I’m not talking down my team whether last place or first place. You do what you like but you can’t be shocked that you get on some of our nerves.

last time I was at a game against the Mets I saw this old man, must have been in his 80s, and he was wearing pants, a button down shirt, and a baseball cap that just said “METS SUCK” in huge letters. I thought that was awesome.

“If you’re wanting Clemente, you’re kinda setting a high standard.”

Nope, the fans and the Braves Hype Machine (media etc) set the standard. THEY are the source of the five tool expectations of Heyward.

Heyward is a legit star in the making. Actually he’s a superstar in the making. He is just going to be an adequate outfielder and adequate ain’t special on defense.

Oh like the run he saved in the 5th by leaping a step too early instead of going back to get under the ball? Or that run he saved a week ago by diving for a ball that was already by him?

Heyward ranked third in defensive stats among ALL big league right fielders just shows you that stats try to go too far. ESPECIALLY when you KNOW better because you’ve watched the guy player every game!

More of those silly stats that explain that a ball rolls into a spot on the field, unmarked by any lines on the field and a fielder who should be in a position on that field to touch the ball unless he doesn’t actually touch it and pick it up and make a throw…………….. those are the NEW stupid stats! lmao

You just proved my point, Joe. You aren’t even talking about the subject of the conversation. Your hero worship takes over and you start talking about what a fine human being the guy is.

The subject is Heyward”s talent, not my talent. The subject is Heyward’s defense, not his bat.
