“Both starts were in September 2010.” Is that the wrong month or the wrong year?

Nice to see the Braves get the win today, but Lowe definitely deserved the loss. The guy just flat out sucks and doesn’t deserve to be starting for a playoff caliber team.

Now on to the Mets series. I like our chances with Jurrgens, Minor and Hudson. Hanson just doesn’t have it this year, and thankfully that useless Lowe is not pitching in this series. Overall if we take 3 of 4 from the Mets that would be great, and if we split the series that won’t be terrible, but not good either. I think Minor will fool the Mets because they have not seen him yet which gives the Braves the advantage in this one. Hudson for me is damn near a lock to win us a game every time he goes out there. I would hate to see where this team would be if not for Tim Hudson this year.

Well, we won one we should have lost, lost one we should have won at Colo. Starting pitching needs to step up, in particular, Hansen and Lowe. Martinez did step up. Diaz needs to play everyday for a while. When, he gets hot, he gets hot. Play him in LF every day, Bobby. And, put Freeman in at 1B against righties. That would help the hitting.

By the way the magic number for the Braves (75-55) winning the division over Philly (73-57) is 31. If the Braves, win 31 of the last 32 and Philly wins 32 of the last 32, Braves at (106-56) win division over Philly at (105-57).
In addition, the magic number for the Braves (75-55) winning the wild card over Cards (72-59) is 29. If the Braves win 29 of the last 32 and Cards win 31 of the last 31, Braves at (104-58) win wild card over Cards at (103-59).
That being said it’s important that we go pn a little tear over the Mutts. They are playing without their catalyst (Reyes). A five or six game spurt could put us in a the driver seat division or wild cardwise and put us in the hunt for the best record in the NL with the Friars which carries with it home field advantage throughout the playoffs as NL won all star game. It would be big as we play, as everyone knows, much better at home than on the road.

Couldn’t happen Stew. Braves and Phillies play each other 6 times, so neither can win 32 or 31. Magic # is 31 though. Can’t happen that way with Cards either. Cards and Braves play 4 games against each other.
