Next for Braves
Who: vs Marlins
When: 1:35 p.m. Sunday
TV; radio: FSSO; 680 AM, 100.5 FM
Probable starters: RH Derek Lowe (11-12, 4.33) vs. RH Josh Johnson (11-5, 2.36)
Sunday’s matchup:
• The Braves have lost 10 of Lowe’s past 12 starts, despite his 3.79 ERA over that time. He made a quality start at Coors Field (three runs, six innings) but lost his third start in a row. Lowe makes his 11th day start. He’s 6-3 with a 3.60 ERA in day games.
• If there’s a good time to catch Johnson, this is it. He’s 1-2 with a 5.34 ERA in August, allowing five or more runs in two of his five starts and failing to go six innings three times. He’s 4-2 with a 2.64 ERA in 13 career starts vs. the Braves, never allowing more than three earned runs.

Hopefully Lowe can stop the losing streak. I think the offense will strike back soon.

If Hudson doesn’t…ugh. Since the bats have turned to wet towels, someone may have to throw something perfect. D Lowe gets a “quality start” by going 6 and allowing 3… thats a 4.50 era….not really quality. At least not one that will win Sundays game.

I heard the Yankees moved Javy Vazquez into their bullpen. Any chance we could get him back for a song, Frank?

Another loss coming. I told you the phillies would win at least 2 in SD. That’s the nature of baseball. They are the better team by far. Lowe pitching tonight against Johnson is a sure loss. The 7-4 kind.
The lead will slowly dissipate and moron ajc writer MB will continue to look like the cretin he is. It’s not that hard to predict this lousy team. They’ve only been choking for 20 years now–with the lucky lone exception of 95.

Lowe starting sunday will run the loseing streak to six, should have been Minor going against Johnson, I don’t think it matters though who is pitching, you can’t win with zero runs.

So Hudson already lost game 5 and its later tonight ? Hudson has been dominant all year. The losing streak stops tonight if offense scores 3 runs or more. Which is not guaranteed with these bunch of weak hitting sisters biotches !

What a BIG if. Braves need to trade McCann this winter while he still has value, he couldn’t throw me out and i’m 74 years old, every time their is a base hit or a walk it is the same as a double.

Oh ok, Ralph. Trade a five-time All-Star catcher at age 26. Gotcha

Well Carroll i’ll admit he is a offencive force but not good for much good defensely and we don’t need him at 1st base, maby he could replace Chipper at 3rd, I don’t know about that.

You don’t trade a power-hitting catcher who’s perhaps the best player you have. Who’s going to catch? Clint Salmons?? Please. That comment was just stupid. And sometimes it’s the pitcher’s fault for not holding the runner close enough, slow delivery to the plate, ect. Most of McCann’s throws are right on the money.
