I’ve noticed that Infante will not go for a ball unless it is hit or thrown right in his hands. I believe he should/could have caught the ball Prado threw.
Trey - 10
Oh I see, looks like he has, even though he was wrong yesterday and started crying.
bravesgrl4lifeeeee ♥ Heap Prado JHey Venters Wagner Huddy Hanson ♥
Nice to get the leadoff walk. Lets go Rossy!
terrible defense, but Hanson can blame himself for that one.
and yeah, Don is the moron who talked trash all day yesterday and then magically disappeared when everything he said was proven wrong. he’s a real tough guy.
Been 2-0 bad guys for almost every game this past week….nothing new.
Yepper dandy Don needs to find a teammate
August 21st, 20104:37 pm
the bright side is that without all the errors the braves wouldnt have the honor of leading the majors in comeback wins.
your right Cheshire — Don did magically disappear around 4:45pm yesterday didnt he?
Marc in FL
fastasballs – That’s because stupid people are, well, stupid.
2 walks already giving up. why does it seem like walks doesnt hurt the pitchers when the braves are playing as often?
Did Ross really try & bunt there?
August 21st, 20104:38 pm
Ankiel up, 2 outs.
DC Braves Fan
Geez, tough crowd. Bad first inning, but on the plus side, I heard a rumor that they are going to play eight more of those today.
Don, how do you like being wrong?
Here’s where the offense has got to get going. Can’t afford look dumbfounded at the plate for 7 innings like we normally do. Late inning heroics are great, but we can’t keep living by them. I know it’s early, but early can turn to late rather quickly.
August 21st, 20104:39 pm
Braves have 92 errors this season; only by the Nationals and Cubs in the NL have more
Dick 3.0, you said that yesterday when the bases were loaded.
I Love Derrek Lee (formerly I Hate Liberty Media/I Hate Troy Glaus)
Hanson is not an ace.
Ankiel is up with only one out nick
chris…Diaz is a platooning…below-average defensively…non-power hitting….non-walking….LF….no more…no less
August 21st, 20104:40 pm
Katherine – I’m implying that he’s the 2nd out, you must be new here.
Yea..this blog has turned into a place for negative, pathetic people to come and try to make other people feel as bad as they do…..to bad it doesnt work
Katerine, Nick is the blog joke. He is like the bearded lady at the freak show.
Nick…are you slow? I was here yesterday and most of this season genius
August 21st, 20104:41 pm
he did indeed BoroBall3…. Don is one of those guys who has no problem talking trash from the safety of his computer, but if we were all sitting in a room together, my guess is Don wouldn’t be saying much. that’s one of the downsides of the internet….it gave guys with no spine the ability to talk trash and not ever have to look anyone in the eye.
That ball was nowhere near the plate, Rick.
Do not swing at the umps ankles…ankles
I wish the name-calling would end. It’s really juvenile.
These announcers are horrible.
August 21st, 20104:42 pm
At least we’re clearing Hanson.
yeah Nick is notorious for calling “ballgame” after giving up a single at anytime… he is like the boy who cried wolf w/ it more often than not and simply cant wait to be first person to write that on this blog too
Great AB Tommy.
is there anything on this page that makes it refresh on it’s own or does everyone have to continually hit the refresh button?
I Love Derrek Lee, no one is name calling.
gosh even thought the braves are winning, gotta make your blood boil with this offense
Georgia still up 4-2 top of the 5th…
August 21st, 20104:43 pm
Well time to mow the yard. I’ll predict the Braves put a 4 spot up in the 3rd while I’m gone.
“Nick…are you slow?” Katherine
Oh, by all means don’t sugar coat it. Get to the chase.
Nick is a frickin idiot. Period. End of discussion. The end.
Hanson will be fine…just one bad inning
Katherine is the trooper of the bloggers… she’s the most positive Braves fan since I can remember… so what, we are down 2-0, but Gorzelanny has thrown a full game through two innings… we are going to win the G-D game
August 21st, 20104:44 pm
I guess that includes no Nickname calling?
N8, you can say that one again. It’s funny, he called the game yesterday, yet we ended up winning and he got all pissy, yet he starts again today. When the day before he said if they end up winning he would never be negative about the Braves again.
at least we are making him throw a fair share of pitches…. get to that cubs pen early!
whats with grandpa favre? he needs to get lost? does his word not mean anything at all? what a doof and an embarassment at this point
I’ve noticed that Infante will not go for a ball unless it is hit or thrown right in his hands. I believe he should/could have caught the ball Prado threw. -Jack
Yes, I have noticed that as well. It seems as though he rarely exerts himself on a ball that he could conceivably range a couple steps for. It is pretty frustrating
August 21st, 20104:45 pm
CaptainMudderland, of course not. Calling Nick names does not count.
Bartholomew (Bat) Masterson
Tim McCarver is sucking all the joy out of my life today. :sigh:
if this game follows the recent trend, we will look like total amateur hitters through 5 or 6 innings, and then a light will come on and we’ll start tearing the cover off the ball in the last 3 innings.
something about this lineup is so odd… not sure if they are learning about the pitcher as they go or what. but they seem to get better as the game goes, no matter who they’re playing.
Rob from SC
Hanson is a damn good pitcher…WTF is wrong with some of you
“I wish the name-calling would end. It’s really juvenile.”
Typed by the guy with “I hate Troy Glaus” in his blog name.
Let me introduce you to a buddy of mine. His name is Kettle.
August 21st, 20104:46 pm
shmoe..im pretty sure grandpa farve could still kick the butts of most of the younger qb’s in the league right now. Why should he go when people are begging him to stay?
N8, his moniker contradicts everything in his previous comment.
Grandpa Favre needs the media attention and admiration like normal people need air and water…he can’t live without it.
August 21st, 20104:47 pm
Since the AS Break, has any team in the majors been worse offensively than the Braves?
I think Infante is great. Don’t criticize him you trolls.
You’re just mean.
August 21st, 20104:48 pm
Good K hanson….didn’t get that call earlier
“does his word not mean anything at all? what a doof and an embarassment at this point”
He’s getting paid 20 million dollars for four or five months of work. He plays for a legitimate contender that’s begging him for his professional services. He can still play at a high level. What’s embarrassing?
cabravesfan, the only way he will retire is if he gets tackled so badly, that he is forced to retire. Each time he does what he does, he loses integrity.
Nick..yet they are still in first place….give it up already
because he said he would. im of the opinion that if he says he’s done, he should be done. especially when this has been done multiple times. tired of the favre soap opera, its revolting actually.
Gorzelanny looks like Sloth from the Goonies.
“Since the AS Break, has any team in the majors been worse offensively than the Braves?”
Since the AS Break, has any team in the majors been better on the mound than the Braves?
Favre can stay as long as wants for all I care but teams shouldn’t have to beg for him to come back. Either do it or don’t.
August 21st, 20104:49 pm
Farve hasn’t lost any intergirty at all…he played the best he has ever played last season. I”d be begging him to come back too.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed that Pat Willis gets a shot at him tomorrow night
So Lee is what now . . . 0 for 5 and left six men on base.
to anyone watching the game… is tommy’s fastball a little slow today? gamecast has it sitting around 91/92.
Nice second for Tommy. Now, we need some offense in the top of the 3rd.
August 21st, 20104:50 pm
“Typed by the guy with “I hate Troy Glaus” in his blog name. Let me introduce you to a buddy of mine. His name is Kettle.”
Do you have a brain? It’s a screen moniker for an internet blog as I’ve explained dozens of times. I don’t hate anyone except maybe you. Nice try, but you’re not as smart as you think you are.
The A Bomb
MLB on FOX: The Soviet Union no longer exists. Tear down your wall.
I like farve…no one is tougher. He can change his mind anytime he wants to..thats his right. If you don’t like him, don’t watch.
You can’t lose what you don’t have…
I think Lee will get his 1st RBI(s) today as a Brave.
Eric from MO
Great blog DOB. This is actually one of my favorite ones and I have been reading them since the 05 offseason. I hated Wagner before he was a Brave and still wasnt much of a fan since he became a Brave. Nothing personal, just wasnt a fan of his. However, after this blog now I am. Loved some of his comments, especially the one where he has already made a ton of money. I never understood what the difference was between a $120 million contract and a $100 million contract. Either way you, your kids, and your grandkids will never see the end of it.
August 21st, 20104:51 pm
Nick 3.0, i think if you look at the numbers, they will show that the Braves haven’t been that bad offensively since the AS break.
However, i think this is one of those cases where the numbers would be very misleading…. if you look at the game yesterday for example, it shows that we scored 5 runs, which would appear to be a pretty decent game offensively. but what you don’t see is that we struggled like crazy the first 26 outs and got most of those 5 runs on one last minute hit. not that that doesn’t count, but it kind of makes the day look a little better than it really was by watering down the 99% of the game where we struggled or wasted opportunities.
in the same way, we’ll go 3 or 4 games scoring less than 3 runs, then suddenly we’ll score 13 runs in a game. so i think we’ve been pretty bad offensively, but i think the numbers make it look a little better than it is by glossing over our offensive troubles.

nice inning for Big red!
Hanson is fine….just one bad inning. As for those wanting farve to get hurt, shame on you. I wouldn’t wish anyone to get hurt badly no matter how much I dislike them.
chesire – Your right, especially that 13 run game.

Tim McCarver is sucking all the joy out of my life today. :sigh:
I may be getting the better of this deal today after all! At least I’ve been listening to a discussion about this new system that apparently is replacing the “Old Timers Committee” for HOF voting. Has to be better than listening to McCarver!
don’t worry, i won’t watch him unless he’s playing the falcons. no need to get snippy, is there? i don’t like his act, you are tolerant. good! end of story.
Katherine, I don’t watch. No one said it wasn’t his right, but if he claims he is going to retire then retire, but if he is just coming back then he doesn’t need to tell people he is going to retire. How much money do you think fans have spent on his merchandise because they believe he is going to retire? Him claiming to retire and coming back just gets in the way of younger players who want a shot in the NFL. I honestly couldn’t care if he did get hurt and had to retire.
K-Ward up, 2 outs.

“I don’t hate anyone except maybe you. Nice try, but you’re not as smart as you think you are.”
How very non-juvenile of you. Never claimed to be smart. Just find it ironic that your moniker is “I hate Troy Glaus” and you’re pissing and moaning about people calling people names.
Sorry dude. Doesn’t take a “smart” person to figure out that you’re full of sh!t and contradicting yourself.
True that, cab. It’s kind of hard to not watch or hear about him when news outlets have things like “Favre Watch 2010″ dedicated to him.
Heyward stinging the ball
J-Hey is very fast
:sigh: What a shock, Nick wrong again…
well atleast heyward is getting going a bit
Good job jason..way to hustle..wrong again nick
August 21st, 20104:54 pm
amen. i second and third your favre.
Nick how does it feel to continue to be wrong? Did you get kicked off the short bus for being so dumb?
So I guess since McCarver didn’t say “Oh!” in the moment, he’s admitting that he’s not a professional announcer.
Ew, I burned him. You’re bunrt McCarver!
I got him. I got him good right there.
I assume he’s reading this.
August 21st, 20104:55 pm
if heyward wasnt injured, this offense would be somewhat decent
I was watching NBC earlier and they must have run 10 promos in an hour talking about “Brett Favre makes his return to the Vikings tomorrow night!” Ummm, doesn’t one have to leave in order to return?
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
