It seems to me that Chipper will have his choice of jobs once he does retire. He’d be a fantastic hitting coach or a pretty good announcer, by the sound of things.
I don’t think that the braves are sweating over $500k to Troy Glaus. I think that this was more to save Glaus’ knees and a chance at getting a premier hitter.
I’m kinda neutral on Kelly. Besides he doesnt even play for us.
But I could have him hit/steal a little less, will help my fantasy team.So probably will.

Hell Barney Rubble would be a better Hitting Coach than the current one!
And then, all of the sudden, Bubba comes running out of the dugout. There’s a long cord trailing behind him. He goes up to Timmy and hands him an electric raiser.
I love Chipper the player. His slow Texas drawl has always turned me off. I don’t think I could hang with him as a broadcaster. I would put up with Chip, ten times over.
The Cubs are better than us in avg (.259 to .258) – marginal at best and better at SLG .411 to .401.
Worse at OBP (.340 Braves to .323 Cubs) and hence in OPS (.742 to .733).
And most importantly in Runs: Braves 549 to 512 Cubs.
Fat lot of good he is doing them. He wrecked the first half of Aramis Ramirez and Derrek Lee to the point where their first half numbers were well below their career averages. And you think he is great?

I don’t necessarily WANT Glaus at 3B. However, if he can come back and be truly healthy enough, I don’t see how it could hurt.
Plus with Infante on the bench, it adds more bench depth.
