Leo had the pitching philosophy to establish the outside part of the plate. McDowell seems to have more of a Bob Gibson philosophy.
Back the hitters off with inside stuff and then use the outside corner to put the hitter away.

Furcal did not want to playn here or he would have gave the Braves chance to match the offer the Dodgers gave him. Bobby is a great manager but he cannot reach everyone. No matter how great a manager is there are some people who cannot get with his stlye.

MLBTR just posted a writeup re: Frenchy’s demand to be traded. Basically, they think it’s funny that someone as bad as him is demanding to be traded to where he can “start every day”.

Clarence Jones was good, but Don Baylor was the man as far as hitting coach. Chipper praised him more than he has any other hitting coach. I wish we could have got him back.
