Ankiel can run but can’t hit. So just pinch run him. Can we get a 1B & CF ? What kind of GM keeps a .290 hitter with power in Gwinnett while Glaus hits .161 with 1 homerun ?
Wandy Rodriguez really helped himself in this inning. He walked a guy into scoring position. Whenever that happens with two outs, you deserve any bad thing that comes your way.
Hey Hedley (Heddy??), yeah, that pitch-by-pitch stuff only makes sense in October, when every AB has a heightened significance. These guys think this is the NFL.
Actually, Headley, no one is stealing your name. And if you had actually seen the movie, you’d know the way you’re spelling the name is incorrect. But, sure, claim someone’s stealing your username. I’ve used ever since I joined this blog two years ago.
Robdawg 400 Hrs is not a requirement. Ask Al Kaline (399), Jim Rice (382) or Ralph Kiner (369). Maybe he just needed another child in the hospital to inspire him to hit those two homers. Look what he did for Elizabeth Smith. It is true stories like that which demands his induction into the hall.
Not a Hall, that was exactly what I thought. I doubt any contending teams are looking for him to fill a starting role, and why would a non-contender trade anyone for him when they should be able to sign him in the offseason? I seriously doubt there’s going to be a big bidding war among teams who want him as a starting OF.
But, sure, claim someone’s stealing your username. I’ve used ever since I joined this blog two years ago.
your right. I am spelling it wrong. but I just starting using the name a couple weeks ago and Ive been reading this blog for years and have never seen you.
Im keeping it. Like I said about the 5th time this has happened.
Headley, I could really care less. Like you said, you started using the username a couple of weeks ago. I’ve been here for years. Do I care that you claim you haven’t seen me? No. Continue to use it and spell it incorrectly, because I’m not going to argue over such a ridiculous topic on a sports blog. We’re not in middle school.
Chop Chop, one way you can do that is to have a team that doesn’t have any good power hitters. That would describe the Astros. Also, the Braves don’t tend to give up many homers. I think they have given up the 2nd fewest in the league if memory serves.
Tune in to ESPN2 on breaks. They’re televising the LL SE regionals about a mile from my house. We’re the new home for the SE regionals partly due to our exceptional history and development of the younguns….boy & girls. HOT day here in Gawd’s country!
Tom Glavine wrote a book in ‘96 after the Braves won the title where he specifically mentioned that that WS crown was won for a lot of people, the city of Atlanta, etc., but also Murph, b/c he never had the chance to do it and Murph was a tremendous influence on the youngins like Glavine and Smoltz in 1988/89/90.
Like I said, whether you’ve seen me or not, I really don’t care. It makes absolutely no difference to me. I’m here every day. This isn’t complicated. Enough.
