Take note, Glaus has hit a couple of balls on the nose today, along with the HR last night. Remember in April when he was struggling, he started to hit into some bad luck before he went on a tear.
And now if Bobby brings Farnsworth in we can have one of those one run road wins that proved to be so elusive years ago and we can feel even better about ourselves.
I don’t want them to be resiliant against the Astros. I want them to kill the Astros. I want them to play like the first place team their record says they are.
Seriously, the Braves might drop down in the BCS rankings if they don’t start murdering these teams instead of simply beating them.
I’m sure Hanson is very happy that the team is on its way to a W….. these guys are professionals and don’t take it personally when relief pitchers don’t get it done. Honestly today it was a fluke single and good base running by the Astros, not bad pitching by Wags.
Don’t know if this has been brought up (haven’t been reading today), but…
DOB,
If you get a chance will you ask Glaus after the game today if his back is bothering him? Every time they showed him standing/walking/running, he looked like he was in pain. Might just be sore, but he didn’t look comfortable.
I know he’s not the best runner usually, but today he actually looked like something was bothering him.
This may be the most exciting team I’ve ever seen. Lots of downs to go with the Ups, but the when you get the Ups they’re freaking throwing you in the air at 200MPH.
Now let’s hope Bobby pitches Billy IN ROTATION WITH his other capable relievers. If not because Billy is obviously not as fresh as he was 2 months ago, just to get the others more in the habit of being in save situations.
Then again, Bobby never caught on about Greg Norton maybe not being the best choice for a pinch hitter either.
If Chipper wants to be in the game maybe he should show it a little more. He looks as bored as any player in Baseball. I wish he would retire and fade away to his ranch in Texas. Has anyone ever noticed how the Braves decline when Deer Season begins?
Chip Carey, Forget a pitchers record, it is all about the team and we want the win. When a hitter hits it to the second base to move a runner over we do not say too bad he loses points on his average. If the team wins the pitcher should be happy if he gets the win or not.
YOu could rotate Saito, Wagner, Venters, even Moylan. Farnsworth on the other hand hasn’t shown me ANYTHING–I’m not sure we wouldn’t be better off with KK out of the bullpen than KF.
Go Takashi. I agree with the idea that Wags can’t go back to back so much anymore. We have other options than him, let’s use them. Crap runner is on. No Runners, please!!
Don Sutton just said that the Phillies must be going through an emotional roller-coaster, too. They’re a game out of the wild-card. I don’t think they’re too worried. If the Braves keep having stuff like this happen for ‘em, it will be impossible for the Phillies to win the division. However, they can win the wild-card.
