“Wavingthewhiteflag” – Living up to your screenname much? Aside from that being mathmatically impossible, I really don’t think that the phillies are getting a ton better by getting oswalt. They still have to score runs, and they have hitters dropping like flies.

I’m with J-Man….we might be in 1st now….but who cares come the end of the season….if you’re happy with the team the way it is….in 1st with many glaring holes….rapidly losing ground in the standings….then you aren’t a true fan….you’re just a homer who doesn’t have the guts to criticize your team

What is scary is the Phillies have the rotation they do, are still scoring runs despite being depleted by injuries and will be getting Utley and the hawaiian back….Just scary

What good does a treasure trove of prospects do you if you don’t use one or two of them for trades. Prospects are not meant to just play for your team. They are meant to be used in trades as well. Six young starters in the minors are not going to help you because you are not going to use six starters of that caliber. If you have a chance to get to the dance now you use one of them to do it. You don’t just stand pat. This team as it is is not getting to the World Series.

This is NOT a 1 week injury. I had the same exact injury. It takes a 2-3 weeks before the ligament reattaches. If he comes back sooner than 4 weeks, he won’t be able to throw. I hope the braves aren’t stupid about this.

i don’t think cheap comes into play. most teams that are the sender are eating a majority of the salary. look at the oswalt and berkman deals…the astros ate a lot of their salaries.
