Good job by wren today. He was able
to upgrade the outfield and the bullpen without giving up a
top tiered prospect. This will pay off big
time when the braves can acquire an impact bat in the offseason via or trade
or maybe even sign a werth or crawford. If this team
can make it to the post season they have a shot to
make some noise. Their bullpen can shorten a game provided eof is healthy. Very similar to the 96 yanks in that regard.

I don’t get the Medlen to the pen thing. What is our record when he starts? 12-1 or 13-1 ? Nolee you and I disagree at times but I respect your opinion generally speaking, and it sounds logical, but why tamper with success, if it ain’t broke don’t try to fix it. If Medlen’s mojo stops, then we can talk about the pen. RIght now Medlen starting and us winning is as close to a sure thing as we have.

I didn’t personally care for the little laugh Melky and Hinske had out there between innings after he made a fool of himself costing JJ an extra run. Whatever, I just hope that Ankiel can produce so we see much less of MelkDud patrolling CF.
This now might go down as one of the best pens, if not the best, the Braves have had during that long run of titles.

TnBrian, the 2002 Braves had a good pen. Smoltz as the closer, had 55 saves that year. Chris Hammond had an ERA of 0.95 in over 70 innings, Remlinger had an ERA of 1.99, and Daren Holmes had an ERA of 1.81.

Not to sound like one of those corny and arrogant blogger people, but I told ya so. Me and Lew told the ones worrying about Philly that their PEN sucks. Their starters aren’t as good either. They won’t hold on against Atlanta. Our pen is 100 times better and will win us many, many more games just like they have all season. It won’t change.

if Glaus is truly hurting, a 2 week DL stint would be well worth the time now to get him ready for September and beyond. We could either give Freddie a 2 week audition or move Hinske to 1B.
Infante may be hitting his way into a daily SS role when Prado returns.
If Infante keeps hitting in the leadoff spot I would leave him there and put Prado 2nd.
