Douche? Blame me for the Braves faults. The offense forced me to do that.
J.J. WAS dialed in against FLA.. outside of the 4th inning when he had to pitch in pouring rain, he only gave up 2 hits, K’d 7
If the Yankees get Dunn, in addition to Berkman, is there any chance we can beat them in the World Series ?
This game is beyond over.
The Abs Man
When you watch fat pig Melky play centerfield—his huge gut bouncy-bouncey–failing to get even near that Texas League single, you know you HAVE TO GET THAT FAT PIG OFF THE FIELD!!!
braves need to trade for jose guillen and zack grienke of the royals.
They can give up hanson, mclouth, and 1 or 2 minor leaguers.
July 30th, 20108:15 pm
Ho-hum another hit from Infante. Good thing he will be benched when SS Gonzalez comes back.
Our hitters are playing like they’re underwater.
Those contracts were Wren’t fault
No. F.Y. #6.
Make a real damn lineup without 2 easy outs in the middle of it. Play your OF who has been ON FIRE since he returned from injury. Sit your 1B and play Hinske there.
Do all of that, and I’ll F myself. Let me know when I can get started on that.
I blame mgmt. and Meds fellow players for half those runs!
we’d still be down 1.5 to 1
Get fat pig Melky off the field..
July 30th, 20108:16 pm
Chip Carey kills me. We’re only one swing away from Melky tying this thing. What has Melky done to ever give him that idea.
But Tristan, he is most valuable riding pine.
BamaDude @ CowCollege AL
Are we close to Glaus sitting, Hinske going to first, and Infante in left?
Love how everyone can hit when there are no runners in scoring position
bomb one prado
SIT TIRED TROY GLAUS—play Hinske at 1B–get that total rat Melk-Dud off the field and put him on Jenny Craig.
Chop It Up All-Star
Let’s go Marteen!!
Come on Mar-freaking-teeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen
July 30th, 20108:17 pm
Defense: 1B Hinske 2B Prado SS Infante 3B Conrad LF Diaz CF Blanco RF Heyward C have to take what you can get.
Maybe they should have told Melky that was a burrito when it was in the air.
Glaus is a bargain! Had a great month. Is always streaky. Chill out.
grounder to short mark it down
Love how people are so pessimistic in the 4th
At the risk of being rude…put it in the F*@(IN’ seats, Martin.
Or more Diaz in left?
I Hate Liberty Media
Wren should be fired if they don’t make a big move by the deadline. Lowe, Kawakami, and McLouth = fail. And I’m sick of hearing about McLouth’s “progress” at AAA. The guy sucks.
line-ups, schmine-ups/ they mean next to nothing. totally overrated
See what I mean? The last time up for Infante, he popped up with a runner on second and Medlen had runners on first and second and struck out. they can’t get hits when they mean something.
The A Bomb
Melky sort of looks like the old WWE wrestler King Haku.
Brave4life-1995 all over again??
please walk, remember we LED the majors in walks
noleeee, please share with us. You use that on so many occasions. Clearly there is a time and place where “The Sky is Falling” is an appropriate thing to say otherwise you wouldn’t throw it out there so gd much.
If we miss out on the playoffs for a fifth straight year, would the sky be falling then? What if Jason Heyward reinjures his thumb and is gone for the rest of the season. Would that finally mean the sky is falling.
Or are you just that unoriginal that you can’t think of anything else worthwhile to say? Do you really think the Braves are going to come back and win this game? I’m not saying they won’t but can you at least see why some people would be less than optimistic?
One of these days the sky is literally going to fall and when that day comes we’re all going to die because we didn’t do anything about it because you say it all the time and we don’t know whether to believe you. So think about that.
July 30th, 20108:18 pm
Glaus should be shot.
Jake, he threw a 1 hitter against Minnesota
That wasn’t a scoreless outing though. As a starter the guy has not thrown a scoreless outing.
Actually, Tristan’s got a pretty good lineup there.
July 30th, 20108:19 pm
Can’t muster up even 1 run to get it back.
The sky is falling.
God D. You’ve got to be kidding me.
Ladies and gentlemen…your 2010 Atlanta Braves.
Way to choke Prado. Got hit last time up with no one on, but can’t deliver in the clutch.
“The Mets shopped Oliver Perez today, according to Jon Heyman of SI.com.”
Yeah, and there’s this old lady down the end of my street who has a garage sale with the same overpriced crap out there every weekend.
Maybe one of those Gary Matthews Jr. deals, where the ceding team pays $11m of the $11.5m salary.
The irony is somebody using the moniker “#6″ calling something overrated.
Hopefully, the Phillies will go 1-59 in their remaining games. If so, we still have a shot!
July 30th, 20108:20 pm
WASHINGTON 3 PHILADELPHIA 0 BOT 5
Steve from OH
One of these days the sky is literally going to fall and when that day comes we’re all going to die
And one of these days Columbus and his crew are going to sail off the end of the Earth.
Ladies and Gentlemen, your still in 1st place Atlanta Braves…
July 30th, 20108:21 pm
So you’re telling me we still got a chance!
For starters, I can’t believe names like Jacoby Ellsbury are being thrown around. Who cares if he gets on base alot?? We already lead the league in OBP, we need someone to DRIVE RUNNERS IN DAMNITT!!!
Nonsense Jerry! Shaun will tell you there is no such thing as clutch, and the timing of a hit means nothing. Just so long as at least 4 out of 10 times up you “avoid outs” in some fashion.
July 30th, 20108:22 pm
We’re all wringing our hands about no big hits. Frank and Bobby are too, they just can’t say it. I tend to think we will bust out of it eventually (maybe tonight) but that doesn’t mean we can’t act like stupid fans until that happens.
Not if you listen to these morons…
well the Braves have been struggling, its not like they have been getting totally manhandled during this bad stretch…they are in every game
Boy, this blog turned nasty all of a sudden. Makes me feel right at home.
But we’re a mid-market team! Yeah, so are the Twins and the Cardinals.
Can’t blame Prado. Guys like Chipper and Glaus have been letting stink bombs off for too long now. You look at McCann and see an All Star catcher, but the guy isn’t consistant enough to carry an offense. I know people drool over Mac, but facts are facts …. he will never be able to carry an offense the way Chipper did that one year. At least not if the trend continues where he’s hot and cold in any given at bat.
Wooderson, you have a point. We need a legitimate power hitter. Someone who can hit 30+ HR and drive in 100+ runs a year.
July 30th, 2010
Yeah, because the Braves have been scoring so many runs lately. We’re losing by the way also.
That probably explains some of the displeasure you’re seeing from your fellow bloggers.
July 30th, 20108:23 pm
I see the Vent Guy decided to take the week off
That enitire Reds’ 3-run rally after the balk–yes it was a balk—came about because that overweight rat eat-too-many Melk-Duds couldn’t come close to catching the Orlando Cabrera pop-fly single.
The entire inning revolved off that horrible play by Melk-Dud.
really I hope Wren DOES NOT make a move
this group thinks they’re good enough as it, let em prove it. Let them either succeed as is or fail as is
I don’t understand the Astros. First they pay >$10 million to trade Oswalt to the Phillies without getting the prospect they want (Singleton). Then they trade Berkman to the Yankees paying a lot of his salary without getting a significant prospect in return
Some of you don’t think anything is a big deal. The Braves could fall to third place and you’d say people are overeacting. Look at this team, do they look like a WS contender right now?
I’d rather us not make a move than to get someone like Ross.
July 30th, 20108:24 pm
Yeah, because the Braves have been scoring so many runs lately. We’re losing by the way also.
Except I’m ’still trying to figure out why there’s displeasure when we’re winning and scoring runs.
Season over? After 2 blown saves by BW and MCOUT grounding into doubleplay, has just killed this 2010 BRAVES team!!!!!!!!!!. FRANK WREN do something!!!!!!!! PLEASE?
BravesFan2010, they are NOT getting what you call a ‘power hitter’. Look at all the talk about them going hard after Ross. I don’t call 7 HR in late July a power hitter. They’re more than likely getting a platoon guy for CF. Nothing said or written would make me believe anything else.
I’m just glad bloggers have no say over decisions Braves management make…Most of it is outright stupidity…
very simple. stop the bleeding, score some runs.
Mr. Turnip-Green Jeans
Melky’s not fat, that’s the 50-lbs TV adds.
July 30th, 20108:25 pm
You have to question BrainDead Bobby’s sanity if he ever plays Melk-Dud any more………….rest Glaus—give Hinske some games at 1B….
play Diaz, Infante and Jason in OF—-leave them there…rotate Blanco when he is re-called…
G@# Damn it Melky, move your fat @ss. You’ve gotta catch that ball! Doesn’t he know my brother is a Reds fan? These games are must-win, you fat terd! The sky is falling and we’re all gonna die!
That was my Mitchell impression. I think it needs some more entitlement.
Just like Hanson and JJJ, one bad inning is gonna kill the kid tonight, because the Awfense can’t get anything done.
I agree with Wooderson. We don’t need more OBP guys. Got plenty of them. All #6 has to do is play the right guys and put them in the right order and things will work out.
With any luck maybee ole troy will be hot all of august and september…..he was cold as ice in april and had a great may and june.
I thought TV added 5 pounds
July 30th, 20108:26 pm
I hear you Brian
I think they have a notoriously bad farm system too and they are not getting anything in return for their marquee players, their all-stars.
They are going to be a bad team for a long time
njbraves–Every team looks like crap at some point during the season…It’s a marathon, but you know nobody seems to get it…
@The A Bomb
I agree, Melky does look like Haku
Well getting Ross might improve our team a little bit, but it certainly won’t help us beat the Yankees in the WS.
McFann :Ô: :Ô:
jeffrey d I thought TV added 5 pounds
According to Fred Flintstone, it’s 10 pounds.
Bartholomew (Bat) Masterson
One of these days the sky is literally going to fall and when that day comes we’re all going to die because we didn’t do anything about it because you say it all the time and we don’t know whether to believe you. So think about that. _ Mitchell
Mitchell is Al Gore, who knew.
Stark tweeted earlier today that the Blue Jay would have to be “blown away” to deal Bautista at this point.
Yeah this team doesn’t need a run producer….
Call up Freddie Freeman (Rob from SC)
Heyward needs to be in CF
jeffreyd, they’ve got ten cameras on him.
July 30th, 20108:27 pm
“. Look at this team, do they look like a WS contender right now?”
Nope. But neither did the Phillies 8 days ago. What’s you’re point?
All I care about is if they look like a playoff team when the standings are posted after game 162.
Oswalt just hit another batter.
“I’m just glad bloggers have no say over decisions Braves management make…Most of it is outright stupidity…”
Please enlighten us, oh condescending genius.
July 30th, 20108:28 pm
I think it’s pretty sad that the Braves probably will end up having nobody with more than 25 HR or more than 90 RBI for the entire year.
Thank goodness…he’d be like Alex Gonzalez part 2
Chip Dillard from Animal House
“All is well!! All is well!!!
when the team continues to put The Dud in center, that tells you all you need to know about how excited they are to put Jason there full-time
2 out rally again?
2-run double by Willingham….
WASHINGTON 5 PHILADELPHIA 0 BOT 5
MAN!! things are looking up in D.C.!! Nats got the lead, i like their chances with Mr. Capps cleaning up in the 9th!! ……oh, wait….
I don’t get it. Winning? What winning?
July 30th, 20108:29 pm
