I hate it when young pitchers lose their focus when things happen like that. 0-2 with 2 out. Balk or no balk, just go get the hitter. He needs to take a play out of Maddux’s book. Runner on, I don’t care, I’m going to get the hitter.
The guy blooped that hit and the pitch was a foot off the plate. How is that Medlen’s fault? If you had Ellsbury in CF, he is quick enough to get to that ball
I said it yesterday and I’ll say it again. The Braves will get swept in this series. They have been making dumb mistakes and have not been capitalizing on most of their chances. Outside of Hudson, not one starting pitcher has been great lately. Yeah, you can say they have been having quality starts, but you need great pitching to get past the mistakes these guys are making. And as I’m writing this, the Braves and Medlen are making sure they begin on a losing note.
Had nothing to do with the balk getting in his head. He’s been missing spots tonight, and those show up big second time through the lineup. Hopefully he settles down, two runs ain’t nothin’ here.
He has done nothing wrong. These guys have had good swings. Only Votto’s hit was legit and he is a freakin all star, not a bum. What the hell do you want when the idiots on offense DO NOTHINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
Welp, here we go again. Another short outing from one of our starters. The offense has already proven what they’re up to tonight, which is to leave small army’s all over the place.
I hope you folks didn’t think 1 would get it done. This offense in that ballpark. Braves offense has to go to work. Besides I don’t think Kris has thrown a scoreless outing anyway so they know they needed to score him some runs.
Difference so far: Reds have gotten every big hit, Braves got one weak one and eaked out a run. Both teams have four hits and two doubles, but it’s 3-1. Bottom line, inability to get the big hit for about two weeks.
I’d say they’re playing as well as they can considering they’re playing without a first baseman, third baseman, shortstop, left fielder, and center fielder.
