tyler nj brave…Monty, Glaus will hit again. Gonzalez just provides stability out of the 7/8 spot and plays solid D. Pretty much the same thing ESCO was doing the first half but he fits in the clubhouse a little better it seems.

Actually, Gonzalez is a notch or two below Escobar. See, when Escobar was here, we were winning. Now he is gone, the Braves are 1 game below .500. Can’t win on the road AND can’t win at home. Great trade, Wren…you freakin douche.

I can’t name even one. I can name a few they did keep as long as they wanted them.. Chipper Jones…. Andrew Jones …. Tom Glavine …. David Justice

I can completely understand why people are thinking the Braves need a trade. I, personally, would like to see a game changer. However, while the Braves were tearing up the NL after that 9 game losing streak, there was a constant contribution from EVERYONE on the team. There wasn’t one single person who drives in runs, who hits home runs or does anything that would constitute “Fantasy baseball worthy” other than Martin Prado. The Braves were known as a patient team who gets on base, wearing down starting pitchers and getting to a bad bullpen where they could win. That’s how the Braves were winning. We just ran into a few decent pitchers, many playing well above what they normally do. We’ll be able to turn it around, I think.

Despite that, I think that the Braves would position themselves better with the RIGHT trade. I don’t know what that is, but I think that Wren is definitely weighing every single option.

McJasoneeeeeenInFL

July 30th, 2010

N8 is correct. If you are going to have 2 player take up 34% of your payroll while handing out another $7 mill to a banished 5th starter that is never used, you better make darn sure they are impact players.

Win now for Bobby blah blah blah… why is it we can’t make a deal? Been a Braves fanatic for 40 years. And I was there through the lean years when TBS had so little programming they would show a replay of the days game late at night. Many days I would watch the Braves stink it up twice in one day and it is nowhere near as frustrating as watching this lack of effort by the powers that be. I hate the thought of having to root for the Fu@#ing Cardinals,(live in the midwest) but i can’t take it anymore. Once PROUD franchise is nowhere to be found. Guess winning just isn’t that important to FO or Liberty Media. We have an abundance of prospects and supposedly saved some money for a midseason pickup, meanwhile the teams who are comitted to winning seem to be able to pull the trigger. Just sucks.

It’s going to be interesting seeing what Oswalt does against the Nationals tonight. The last time he faced them was in Houston on May 31st. He gave up 4 runs in 2 innings and got thrown out of the game. Probably got himself thrown out so he would’nt hurt his ERA anymore than he has.

Look at the demographic of the people around Turner Field…Not Braves fans for the most part…The people on the outskirts don’t want to battle traffic through town on the weeknights and during the school year to get there…The stadium was placed in a poor place, it should be north of downtown, and to compound that there is no MARTA stop in the vicinity…
