A big part of following sports is actually watching things unfold and the belief that anything can happen – quite often the unpredictable stuff. Why take the fun out of it.
Wow, Mark, that totally reeks to have to deal with losers like that. What else would I expect from cities where the fans take pride in being obnoxious jerks who haven’t got a clues what the word “class” means?
Phillies are turning into the Yanks/Mets/Red Sox of the trade rumor mill.
Used to be that every player was rumored going to the above teams. Today, the Phils are getting Oswalt but still believed to be in on Batista, Tejada and Willie Bloomquist!
So why don’t they just turn over their entire team?
the Braves love to struggle against pitchers just called up from the minors and pitchers just off the DL. As Chazz Michael Michaels would say, it is “mind bottling.”
Good to get those runs in before the storm.
If it’s a long one it will be the Nats pen vs. the Braves pen. You would think that would be to our advantage, but through like 14 innings against their relievers, Braves have yet to score a run this series. (Batista is a reliever, right?)
Rough Estimate, how many of the Yankees’ pitchers were dominant last year. What about the Phillies in 2009? Having dominant pitchers definitely helps in the postseason, but they’re not required to have “a shot” in the postseason. Plus, as GTSteve pointed out, Huddy’s been pretty close to dominant, and Jair definitely has the ability to be dominant too, and has been pretty dominant since coming off the DL.
