Come on man find something better to do, also if you want to make fake trade make them realistic. I guess you just don’t know that much about the players I assume. For one Adam Dunn has no fit on the Braves and number two Medlen is going nowhere. Try something realistc next time though.
I just finished talking to that jew Ken Rosenthall and he said that Adam Dunn will be traded to the Braves. The Braves will deal Teheran, Minor, Delgado, and Schafer. Pretty nice haul for the Natinals!
Lowe the worst signing in Braves history? I can’t imagine a worse signing, honestly. He’s been a complete bust except for his first game as a Brave against Philly.
Guys, I have just traded my penis for Adam Dunn… Pretty small haul for the Nationals, considering it’s under 2 inches in length and .5 inches in girth!
“Lowe the worst signing in Braves history? I can’t imagine a worse signing, honestly. He’s been a complete bust except for his first game as a Brave against Philly.”
We can’t keep losing money on this team! We are in the process of hiring some top Jews to take over financing! Has anyone ever heard of that jew bag Bernie Madoff?
The Braves have been conspicuously absent in the rumor mills for the last week or so. I thought that was because Wren was working on some big blockbuster under the radar, but I no longer thank that’s the case.
I think he’s in a position where he can’t take on salary, and he has few desirable prospects he’s willing to trade. Plus there just isn’t much out there. What I’m afraid is that he’ll be so desperate to make a move come Saturday that he’ll end up trading a high end prospect for a non-impact bat.
Guys I have been absent from posting lately. Since I am a lawyer I have been hard at work trying to win some cases. What is the over/under Bobby changes the lineup even if we get a bat? I’m guessing 15 %
When this team gets on a roll, they really click – put enough men on that a couple of timely hits can turn games around. I still think they can get back to good baseball, but we might have seen the biggest lead this season yet. Rotation will be fine. JJ is real good and Meds can keep us in the game long enough.
Really, we’ll be doing good to take one of the games against the Reds this weekend the way we’re playing. I’m not being negative either, that’s the truth.
It’s kinda refreshing though, to know we don’t have a chance in hell this early in the year. No patented 2nd half run, no offense, iffy starting pitching, zero speed, no heart, etc.
I just dont understand how Berkman can help. He’s marginally better than Glaus and has much of the same problems. The only argument in getting Berkman would be that 4 bad knees are better than 2 bad ones and they rotate Glaus and Berkman – just dont see that happening or him playing in the OF.Hey at least Arkansas Transplant will be happy – he’s been saying this for months now.
Braves will win 2 of 3 at The Great American Smallpark, ‘Bank On It” They always hit good there this time of the year
But since the All Star Break when the braves had a decent lead the Offense has gone back to That DAMN Bobby Ball Approach against opposing pitchers…Bobby Needs To shake things up again like he was so good at doing from May-The Last roadtrip before the All-Star Break…
C’mon Brian. The pitching matchups really favor the Braves on Sat. & Sun. And there’s no way you can count Meds out. Stop being so Nick/Mitchell/.574ish, will ya?
DOB, guarantee the braves are not happy about how MLB has handled this venters suspension thing.
the hearing was tuesday. the suspension was supposed to come down on wednesday before the game.
he pitched tuesday. so they held off. he pitched wednesday, they held off.
pretty sure they want full effect. my guess is three games starting with this series. 4 games to 3, but my guess you will hear it before this series, venters out.
Brian, he’d be an upgrade the way Glaus is hitting now, but not the way he hit from May 1 to mid-June. Glaus is a streaky player, even more as he’s gotten older.
But as I pointed out with the money still owed Berkman, I really don’t think the Braves would pay him $7 million for the rest of this season )including his buyout for 2011) unless they dumped another salary or the ‘Stros picked up a good chunk of what he’s owed.
And I certainly don’t see the Braves giving up any big pitching prospect AND taking on a lot of payroll, not to get Berkman at this stage of his career.
It’s fitting to see the Braves reverting to their brand of October baseball. They’re a couple of months early, but at least I’ll be able to enjoy the start of football season without the distraction of another post-season loss.
I don’t doubt it’s just to bring up the price/value of their players. I just read that earlier and felt I should post something lol… Also baseball perspective still gives the Braves an 81% chance to make the playoffs, which is still the best in the NL even over the Padres. Here is a link to that info as well:
Why pay for Berkman when we have Freeman in the minors who is tearing it up. If anything the Braves should get an OF and call up Freeman. We have to take some chances.
20. Freddie Freeman, 1b, Braves (Triple-A Gwinnett): The youngest player in the International League had a hot June (.923 OPS), allaying fears he couldn’t make adjustments against advanced pitching. He’s not far from being ready to join roommate Jason Heyward in the Braves’ lineup.
Astros take a flier on him not being as bad as he looks, for roughly the same $$. Braves get a bat this year. Astros get a potential regular, if he can regain the stroke. Not out anything but Berkman next year if McLouth doesn’t hit.
You’re right about the funk they’re in. However, all teams go through that. Don’t get so down that you’re predicting the funk to continue in the future.
Every game the Braves have lost in the last 2 weeks, they’ve had a shot to win.
While the Rangers and Marlins were working out the trade that sent Jorge Cantu to Texas, the Rangers also took a chance to “reach for the sky” and inquired on the availability of Josh Johnson. According to MLB.com’s Joe Frisaro, the Rangers were willing to offer their top three prospects, but were told the Marlins’ ace is “unmovable.”
Like I said, to me a guy like Jose Guillen makes more sense than Berkman, in terms of what he’d likely cost in trade, his salary, and the fact he plays the outfield
Why couldent Matt Capps be traded before the year, also watching sportcenter and Cole Hammells calling the Phillies a force, what a joke. Lidge also said there isnt a better one two three in baseball.
Tom O’Hawke, I know, it’s just that uga-brave and others have put this team in perspective in such great detail that it’s given me the blues. Stupid uga and his statistical facts!
I get what you’re saying and all and I want to be positive. I’m in a rut myself, just like the Braves are.
Been out of touch most of the last week (moving), but just got my internet set up this evening. Looks like it was probably not a bad week to be out of the loop. Seems like things have not gone well. I am guessing the blog has been an effervescent place of late.
Can someone tell Bobby it is June so he will manage lights out the way he was? Bobby Ball is not going to win us anything. As a matter of fact we keep losing since he has gone back to his old ways. Boring! It’s hard to watch again when before he had me and my buddies asking who the heck is this guy and what did he do with our manager? I want THAT guy back!!
I didn’t post that stuff about Franklin Gutierrez, my only guess is robdawg08 is back to start crap again. It’s been a long day, hopefully you guys don’t fall for robdawg’s crap because anything after this will not be me!
Not ill-informed at all. The Phillies are committed to winning it all. The Braves aren’t. I don’t have to look to the financial numbers to know that, but the numbers are there as well. The big teams do what it takes to win. The Braves go get one cast-off after another and swear each is the missing piece.

But I’m not gonna speculate on trades and future scenarios…

Why couldent Matt Capps be traded before the year, also watching sportcenter and Cole Hammells calling the Phillies a force, what a joke. Lidge also said there isnt a better one two three in baseball.

McLouth has proven he can hit Triple A pitchers. Great! Let him be a star there because he sure ain’t one here.

I am guessing the blog has been an effervescent place of late.

what part of this equation dont some of you understand?
it is not a marginal outfielder we need?
we need a middle of the order guy.
heyward, galus, and chipper have combined for 2 homeruns in six weeks.

I agree Jose Guillen is about the only outfeild bat that make much sense and that is really not all that appealing.

Not ill-informed at all. The Phillies are committed to winning it all. The Braves aren’t. I don’t have to look to the financial numbers to know that, but the numbers are there as well. The big teams do what it takes to win. The Braves go get one cast-off after another and swear each is the missing piece.

DOB did you ever get a answer about the possability of moving prado to third next year if chipper retires and they cant find a third base fit?
