I’m listening to a live talk-show on XM satellite radio. If there were any trades, I’d here it. Don’t listen to that idiot.
July 30th, 201012:35 am
easy on the politics fellas.
Sorry guys wrong link!
Here is the proper one:
Pretty big stuff!
July 30th, 201012:36 am
Come on man find something better to do, also if you want to make fake trade make them realistic. I guess you just don’t know that much about the players I assume. For one Adam Dunn has no fit on the Braves and number two Medlen is going nowhere. Try something realistc next time though.
White Sox are about to get Dunn. robdawg is messin with all us.
July 30th, 201012:37 am
I just finished talking to that jew Ken Rosenthall and he said that Adam Dunn will be traded to the Braves. The Braves will deal Teheran, Minor, Delgado, and Schafer. Pretty nice haul for the Natinals!
I Hate Liberty Media
The Braves will get nobody of any consequence.
July 30th, 201012:38 am
Just got home from the gig tonight and checked the Phils score…….2.5 back, I knew it.
They might not lose again this year.
We’ve all been Rick-Rolled.
Can You get your ajc crew To Bozo The Dilhole who is using my name in that 12:23 post?
July 30th, 201012:39 am
Lowe the worst signing in Braves history? I can’t imagine a worse signing, honestly. He’s been a complete bust except for his first game as a Brave against Philly.
Guys, I have just traded my penis for Adam Dunn… Pretty small haul for the Nationals, considering it’s under 2 inches in length and .5 inches in girth!
July 30th, 201012:40 am
it’s probably robdawg08, I think he finally lost it tonight. Check out some of the bull he is posting.
“Lowe the worst signing in Braves history? I can’t imagine a worse signing, honestly. He’s been a complete bust except for his first game as a Brave against Philly.”
July 30th, 201012:42 am
So there is the real douche robdawg and another douche pretending to be him. Brilliant.
Gant Touch This AKA Tomahawkin
July 30th, 201012:43 am
For all the cats in here ignore the posts from Tomahawkin from 12:23 til 12:37
I did do the 12:38 post however since I read the blog after being away from it for a few minutes
I’m Flattered that someone loves my name so much that they used it to post drivel on here…
Liberty Media Group
We can’t keep losing money on this team! We are in the process of hiring some top Jews to take over financing! Has anyone ever heard of that jew bag Bernie Madoff?
July 30th, 201012:44 am
snot, halladay has eight complete games. eight? that is mind boggling.
besides hudson, who do you have absolute confidence in?
lately all of the others have put us behind in games.
not a great formula.
we dont have the guys that can knock one over the wall to change things.
so we get cueto tmmrw. in cinnci. vs. medlen.
over under on the dingers the reds hit is 3.
guess what by my count, we get johan santanna to open our homestand.
The Braves have been conspicuously absent in the rumor mills for the last week or so. I thought that was because Wren was working on some big blockbuster under the radar, but I no longer thank that’s the case.
I think he’s in a position where he can’t take on salary, and he has few desirable prospects he’s willing to trade. Plus there just isn’t much out there. What I’m afraid is that he’ll be so desperate to make a move come Saturday that he’ll end up trading a high end prospect for a non-impact bat.
July 30th, 201012:45 am
IHLM, considering Lowe is making about $8 mill. more a year and signed a year longer than KK, than yeah, a worse signing.
July 30th, 201012:47 am
This team is done. The problem is at the top. The Braves will never win a championship with Liberty Media as the owner.
Billy Dong Thronton
Guys I have been absent from posting lately. Since I am a lawyer I have been hard at work trying to win some cases. What is the over/under Bobby changes the lineup even if we get a bat? I’m guessing 15 %
If I ever need a positive boost of moral support, I won’t call on Mixxo (.574).
July 30th, 201012:48 am
At least Lowe gives them innings. Kawakami just sits there. The least he could do would be to run a hibachi grill at the Ted or something.
just signing on tonight…did anyone else hear about braves interest in berkman?
July 30th, 201012:49 am
My Big Boy Gut Tells me that the Braves bats start clowning at The Great American Smallpark
And Little Big Man Med’s Will come through “Bank On It!”…He’s pitched with the most heart on this team this year, Bar-None
Probably just a smokescreen to distract from their real target, nobody.
When this team gets on a roll, they really click – put enough men on that a couple of timely hits can turn games around. I still think they can get back to good baseball, but we might have seen the biggest lead this season yet. Rotation will be fine. JJ is real good and Meds can keep us in the game long enough.
Yes we have, I won’t trade my daughters virginity for that overweight loser… He is about as useless as robdawg08’s wang!
July 30th, 201012:51 am
It’s been going on for awhile. We know when it’s not you. You are unique! Don’t sweat it.
For God’s sake can’t this team develop a slugger? How long has it been? Klesko?
Brave4life-1995 all over again??
TOP 25 Prospects as of July
Remember when I pitched with the Braves? Now I run a BP gas station in the Gulf Coast! Talk about a hard sale!
your daughter’s virginity? wow.
July 30th, 201012:52 am
Nuff Said, and we’re stuck with 2 more years of this crap and his 15 mill Salary, Thats The Cold Part!
Only Mike Hampton had a worse Contract to be a braves pitcher but we traded for him…
Wayne in Utah
some dill weed is screwing around with the blog tonight. They’d have to delete about 50 posts to get rid of his/her bs tonight.
I really don’t see Berkman coming here, unless it is a cash dump.
i agree with DOB i dont see where burkman would fit unless wren absolutely doesnt want to bring up freeman yet
July 30th, 201012:54 am
Berkman was a real hitter when he was on though. He’s had knee issues I think.
The Braves DONT NEED BERKMAN
I’m getting tired of us either trading or signing Over the hill Vets…! AKA Dumpster Diving…
Berkman played in the Pinnacle of the PED Era so he is suspect in my book…
July 30th, 201012:55 am
Really, we’ll be doing good to take one of the games against the Reds this weekend the way we’re playing. I’m not being negative either, that’s the truth.
At this point Berkman doesn’t bring much to the table.
July 30th, 201012:56 am
I just dont see a trade Wren can make all the options seem pretty weak.
Berkman was linked to PED’s, since the end of the supposed “steroid” era his numbers have dropped
t’hawkin, cueto will be the best starter we have seen in the second half.
might as well hit him because we did not score a run on the nats bullpen in 3 games/
“At this point Berkman doesn’t bring much to the table.”
Neither do the Braves. Might be a good fit.
The truth hurts…I know.
It’s kinda refreshing though, to know we don’t have a chance in hell this early in the year. No patented 2nd half run, no offense, iffy starting pitching, zero speed, no heart, etc.
No more teasing….thank goodness!
Go…..”my sister’s Red Sox!”
July 30th, 201012:57 am
Derek, nah, you just suck. That’s why.
Offense is gonna need to heat up, do they understand that they are in the brink of a playoff run.
I like the name I may keep it for awhile…
GET Corey Hart,
I just dont understand how Berkman can help. He’s marginally better than Glaus and has much of the same problems. The only argument in getting Berkman would be that 4 bad knees are better than 2 bad ones and they rotate Glaus and Berkman – just dont see that happening or him playing in the OF.Hey at least Arkansas Transplant will be happy – he’s been saying this for months now.
Derek "THE THIEF" Lowe
July 30th, 201012:58 am
What’s worse my numbers, or the fact I get paid more than Roy Halladay?
July 30th, 201012:59 am
@ Brave4life-1995 all over again??
The Brewers have pulled them off the market according to MLB Trade Rumors… The Brewers think they are close enough to compete
July 30th, 20101:00 am
berkman = chipper = was once good but now over the hill and needs to retire
Braves will win 2 of 3 at The Great American Smallpark, ‘Bank On It” They always hit good there this time of the year
But since the All Star Break when the braves had a decent lead the Offense has gone back to That DAMN Bobby Ball Approach against opposing pitchers…Bobby Needs To shake things up again like he was so good at doing from May-The Last roadtrip before the All-Star Break…
July 30th, 20101:01 am
C’mon Brian. The pitching matchups really favor the Braves on Sat. & Sun. And there’s no way you can count Meds out. Stop being so Nick/Mitchell/.574ish, will ya?
This is a valid link, I don’t put crap like robdawg08… If you are interested it gives insight to the Brewers pulling players off the market.
Wasn’t my post.
July 30th, 20101:03 am
Many analyst think that this is just to drive up the price on Fielder and Hart. they have NO pitching and are not even a .500 club right now.
DOB, guarantee the braves are not happy about how MLB has handled this venters suspension thing.
the hearing was tuesday. the suspension was supposed to come down on wednesday before the game.
he pitched tuesday. so they held off. he pitched wednesday, they held off.
pretty sure they want full effect. my guess is three games starting with this series. 4 games to 3, but my guess you will hear it before this series, venters out.
Its going to be tough to find a centerfielder now or in the offseason theres no free agents capable of what we need
July 30th, 20101:04 am
Dont get lured into that crap, i am telling you this is just to drive up the prices.
Brian, he’d be an upgrade the way Glaus is hitting now, but not the way he hit from May 1 to mid-June. Glaus is a streaky player, even more as he’s gotten older.
But as I pointed out with the money still owed Berkman, I really don’t think the Braves would pay him $7 million for the rest of this season )including his buyout for 2011) unless they dumped another salary or the ‘Stros picked up a good chunk of what he’s owed.
And I certainly don’t see the Braves giving up any big pitching prospect AND taking on a lot of payroll, not to get Berkman at this stage of his career.
T’Hawk, they’re not hitting. When they are, they aren’t pitching. Just one of those funks they’re in.
All of a sudden the phils think they have the nest rotation in MLB. Are they on crack
July 30th, 20101:06 am
I Hate Liberty Media – I’m into a nice sauna.
I need to open the pores and let the stank of this season escape.
It’s fitting to see the Braves reverting to their brand of October baseball. They’re a couple of months early, but at least I’ll be able to enjoy the start of football season without the distraction of another post-season loss.
I don’t doubt it’s just to bring up the price/value of their players. I just read that earlier and felt I should post something lol… Also baseball perspective still gives the Braves an 81% chance to make the playoffs, which is still the best in the NL even over the Padres. Here is a link to that info as well:
July 30th, 20101:07 am
Why pay for Berkman when we have Freeman in the minors who is tearing it up. If anything the Braves should get an OF and call up Freeman. We have to take some chances.
20. Freddie Freeman, 1b, Braves (Triple-A Gwinnett): The youngest player in the International League had a hot June (.923 OPS), allaying fears he couldn’t make adjustments against advanced pitching. He’s not far from being ready to join roommate Jason Heyward in the Braves’ lineup.
July 30th, 20101:08 am
Why is my last comment Awaiting Moderation…?
Rob From SC...Chipper's new BFF, Please call up Freddie Freeman
Call up Freeman Kimbrel and Minor…Move Lowe to the pen and lets roll.
DOB, in reference to the venter’s suspnesion?
pretty sure cox aint happy.
You know nothing is valid without a link
July 30th, 20101:09 am
McLouth for Berkman??
Astros take a flier on him not being as bad as he looks, for roughly the same $$. Braves get a bat this year. Astros get a potential regular, if he can regain the stroke. Not out anything but Berkman next year if McLouth doesn’t hit.
Roll the dice??
I dont think wren would give up prospects and take on payroll for berkman when he could just bring up freeman
July 30th, 20101:10 am
Got to read this, Braves have done good in scouting
They got like 5-6 players in top 50
You’re right about the funk they’re in. However, all teams go through that. Don’t get so down that you’re predicting the funk to continue in the future.
Every game the Braves have lost in the last 2 weeks, they’ve had a shot to win.
July 30th, 20101:11 am
Bobby hasn’t hit into a single double play this year. This drought is on the hitters.
While the Rangers and Marlins were working out the trade that sent Jorge Cantu to Texas, the Rangers also took a chance to “reach for the sky” and inquired on the availability of Josh Johnson. According to MLB.com’s Joe Frisaro, the Rangers were willing to offer their top three prospects, but were told the Marlins’ ace is “unmovable.”
July 30th, 20101:12 am
Braves will be swept by the Reds and in a week, they will be out of it for good. Thanks Wren and Libery Media!
Alright guys gotta wake up early, got a BIG exam tomorrow. wish me luck
July 30th, 20101:13 am
At this rate the Braves will be the Pirates in five years. No chance to compete with cheap ownership. Sad.
NO MORE BOBBY
Wayne – What will be your logic when we miss the playoffs again?
Like I said, to me a guy like Jose Guillen makes more sense than Berkman, in terms of what he’d likely cost in trade, his salary, and the fact he plays the outfield
Berkman for KK and a pitcher in the minors might make some sense
Especially if Chipper retires where Glaus would go back to third assuming he get resigned…
But I’m not gonna speculate on trades and future scenarios…
Why couldent Matt Capps be traded before the year, also watching sportcenter and Cole Hammells calling the Phillies a force, what a joke. Lidge also said there isnt a better one two three in baseball.
July 30th, 20101:14 am
McLouth has proven he can hit Triple A pitchers. Great! Let him be a star there because he sure ain’t one here.
Tom O’Hawke, I know, it’s just that uga-brave and others have put this team in perspective in such great detail that it’s given me the blues. Stupid uga and his statistical facts!
I get what you’re saying and all and I want to be positive. I’m in a rut myself, just like the Braves are.
I Hate Liberty Media: No, it’s your entirely misinformed comments that are sad. Get a clue.
July 30th, 20101:16 am
No! You don’t want to do that.
Been out of touch most of the last week (moving), but just got my internet set up this evening. Looks like it was probably not a bad week to be out of the loop. Seems like things have not gone well. I am guessing the blog has been an effervescent place of late.
what part of this equation dont some of you understand?
it is not a marginal outfielder we need?
we need a middle of the order guy.
heyward, galus, and chipper have combined for 2 homeruns in six weeks.
I agree Jose Guillen is about the only outfeild bat that make much sense and that is really not all that appealing.
July 30th, 20101:17 am
I hear you, Brian.
Can someone tell Bobby it is June so he will manage lights out the way he was? Bobby Ball is not going to win us anything. As a matter of fact we keep losing since he has gone back to his old ways. Boring! It’s hard to watch again when before he had me and my buddies asking who the heck is this guy and what did he do with our manager? I want THAT guy back!!
THE REAL Prado>KJ
I didn’t post that stuff about Franklin Gutierrez, my only guess is robdawg08 is back to start crap again. It’s been a long day, hopefully you guys don’t fall for robdawg’s crap because anything after this will not be me!
July 30th, 20101:18 am
Hi, Moe. Are you in Joe Simpson territory now?
[But I’m not gonna speculate on trades and future scenarios…]
“No! You don’t want to do that.”
Oh Yes I do…I’d rather post some of my dope jams on here Just Got done Rocking that Joan Jett “I love Rock And Roll”
Now I’m bout to cool out to some old Sade and Seal while I fry some Flounder…
July 30th, 20101:19 am
Not ill-informed at all. The Phillies are committed to winning it all. The Braves aren’t. I don’t have to look to the financial numbers to know that, but the numbers are there as well. The big teams do what it takes to win. The Braves go get one cast-off after another and swear each is the missing piece.
July 30th, 20101:20 am
DOB did you ever get a answer about the possability of moving prado to third next year if chipper retires and they cant find a third base fit?
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
