Brave4life-1995 all over again??
July 29th, 20101:10 pm
lets get some damn runs
July 29th, 20101:11 pm
Cox said [about Infante]. “The guy is hitting .330 (.327); I ought to be able to get him in there somewhere.”
And Cox just realized this today???
“I’m very feely. Not so much touchy.” Mitchell
must be a maternally hereditary trait
32 pitch inning.
Call up Nate!
Thanks for the genius comment Philsfan….At least bring something to the table if you are going to troll..
July 29th, 20101:12 pm
Who do you want him to replace failover?
No team in baseball history has ever come back from a 2-0 victory after two innings of play.
looks like it’s gonna be 2.5 by tonight…. – philsfan8
We keep this sh*t, you guys will easily be in first this time next week.
*2-0 deficit, I should say
Derek Lowe really does suck.
I honestly can’t wait till we get rid of him.. He’s a fifth wheel.
it would be a damn shame if strasburg battled injuries his whole career like k. wood or prior who didnt have a career. i wanna see this guy pitch a lot.
Brian from SC
July 29th, 20101:13 pm
Good Gawd, some of y’all sound suicidal during games. We’re not even a third of the way through the game, you idiots!
Ben Hill, Been Real
Derek only throws two pitches..a hanging sinker and a dirt sinker
Lowe’s at 44 pitches thru 2.
lol you guys wont win today….lowe sucks….your lineup is a joke….and braves are terrible on the road to begin with…..we’ll be in first by monday….bank on it
See Through Blauser, his ball is sinking, he just throws everything in the same spot. All they have to do his stick the bat where they KNOW the baseball will be and they get hits and HR.
44 pitches through 2 innings. He’ll be out by his usual 5th inning, 6th if they’re lucky.
Phillies have better starters and a better lineup when healthy, but other than that there’s not much to worry about…
July 29th, 20101:14 pm
Apparently the blog was thinking Derek Lowe was going to toss a shutout today.
GT Fan – The Braves rotation might be better 1-5 than the Phils, but when you get to the playoffs, all you need is your top 2-3 pitchers, the guys are typically in the bullpen.. Curt Schilling & Randy Johnson basically carried the Dbacks to the W.S. title a few years ago by themselves. You have to have at least 2 dominent pitchers in the post season to have a real shot. The Braves have 5 good pitchers, but none of them are dominent.
thanks .580…..some of you guys are somewhat realistic
crime dog made a funny
Lowe with 40 pitches through 2…Hudson no more than 15 in any inning last night…That’s how you get past the 5th inning Derek…
another fairweather phils fan? who woulda guessed? i got two words for you: doug glanville.
We’ve scored three runs in twenty innings in this series.
July 29th, 20101:17 pm
Lowe sucks watch Pillies come in and sweep Nats while we take on the Reds who can score. Milky sucks in center.
Philsfan – go puke on a little girl or get tazered by security u classless troll. Once the Phils stop using cameras and binoculars and get away from that little league park, we will see what their made of.
Olsen looking like Cy Young.
Are you Pauli From the Phils Board?
I wonder if the Dodgers would consider taking LOWE, BLANCO, and a “B” prospect for MATT KEMP…..IF the Braves pay HALF of Lowe’s money next year and 5 million of it the last year of the contract
Hey, they were considering picking up Oswalt
I predicted we’d win one here and we’ve done that.
We’ll also win one in Cincy…..bank on it!
July 29th, 20101:18 pm
All they have to do his stick the bat where they KNOW the baseball will be and they get hits and HR.
As evidence by his high home run rate allowed this y — oh, wait, it’s only 0.9 HR/9?
Olsen is kicking our butts again. Remember he almost threw that no hitter against us earlier this year.
“and braves are terrible on the road to begin with”
Atlanta’s road record: 24-29
Philadelphia’s road record: 22-28
July 29th, 20101:19 pm
another prediction…..d.brown turns out better than heyward…..his avg is pretty lame for all the hype he gets
So, Strasburg the Wonder Boy is already having shoulder issues. I guess no one learned anything from Kerry Wood and Mark Prior.
coach smith -
Rob From SC...Chipper's new BFF (3 Game Streak)
Jason need to learn how to drive that pitch because until he does that is all he will see.
I hope Olsen gets tired easy.
You guys remind me of watching Braves games with my dad as a kid. He’d yell swear words at the TV like Mel Gibson on a tequila binge, then turn the game off in the 7th inning after shaking his head and muttering “they’re TERRIBLE.” Lighten up people, jeebus…
The Braves have 5 good pitchers, but none of them are dominant
Huddy and JJ have looked fairly dominant lately
July 29th, 20101:20 pm
“Phillies have better starters and a better lineup when healthy, but other than that there’s not much to worry about…”
which is why it’s all the more telling that the Braves 24 runs better in differential despite all of our injuries…
Nick-The Braves are like your little brother…You can bash them all you want, but when philthies fans come over and start talking trash, you let them know that you are the only one who can bash the Braves…
Ok, Braves…Time to score some runs!!! We can’t win with a goose-egg up there!
Lowe is going to pitch every fifth day. Hanson isn’t sure if he’s going to be good or be “Bad Hanson,” in any given start. Medlin is gonna run out of innings and has been known to hang a few of those changeups. Huddy is solid. JJ looks promising. Your bullpen starter help is KK.
Does this rotation suck? NO! But it’s not a lights out group of guys. They are gonna give up a few runs. The Braves need to be able to score some runs to support those guys who are going to give up 3-5 runs a game.
Braves still need a bat. Standing pat with this offense is just inviting Philly to overtake you and win the division. Need a producer who won’t just leave the bases loaded when he comes to the plate. We have too many now who are just happy to get on base and not worried about getting the runs home.
Shut out two nights ago. Scored 3 last night. Good enough to win last night, but your ace is the only reason it was good enough to win last night.
3 won’t be good enough to win today!
July 29th, 20101:21 pm
We keep this sh*t, you guys will easily be in first this time next week. — Mixxo
Isnt it weird when the Philly troll sounds a little better than one of the blog regulars. Plus he credited Mixxo on being more realistic. Brilliant.
One thing that is apparent to me and probably to everyone here. When Prado hits, the Braves win. When Prado doesn’t hit, well, you get the picture.
July 29th, 20101:22 pm
“Lighten up people, jeebus…”
Trolls post more and most of our regular fans won’t realize it’s a day game for a few innings. So, the signal to noise is going to be dreadful this afternoon.
Last night did nothing to stop the collapse. The offense was still horrible. We’re swinging early against a guy who just came off the DL. Make him work damn it!
Bad is coming…Oswalt to strengthen Phils, Phils win again, and the Braves are behind and a loss is certain the way the guys are swinging today and the past week. But alot will say…”we’re still ahead by 2 1/2 games ahead”. So what.
I said we would be up only 2 when the trip is over. But amended it saying we may be behind. Now I know so instead of speculating. I don’t care if the we’re facing a lefty…our best hitter currently (McCann) should be damn playing.
Bobby thanks for another L….courtesy of “resting guys”…the JV plays today.
I have any of you ever seen a pitcher nibble so God D*** much in your life like Lowe?
I’ve been saying it for weeks, this team needs more/better pitching and another bat if they expect to win the East and do well post-season.
Other than Hudson and maybe JJ, tell me who else on this pitching staff you would truct to win a game in the post season? I don’t see anybody else.
Today, Lowe is his typical overpaid, tired by the 5th inning (if I even make it that far) self.
Anybody else get tired of seeing ground balls to 2nd base? We’ve watched Chipper roll over pitches for 15 years and now Heyward does the exact same thing all the time.
Come on, Bravos, I can live with not quite making it all the way this year but I absolutely will blow my brains out if I have to listen to those self-important arrogant Phillies fans bragging on and on for another year. (And I used to think that Mets fans were annoying.) Someone please pass the shotgun.
July 29th, 20101:23 pm
Come On! You know the offense isn’t getting it done! Get Tough!
Forget worrying about the Phillies, we need to worry about ourselves
Done deal, Oswalt to the Phillies.
See through, Yeah. It’d be nice if the 7 guys behind Prado picked him up every now and again. Maybe started a rally themselves.
Cue Mixxo with his patented, “Hey Snotboogie…STFU! I get emotional during games. Deal with it!”
…in 5, 4, 3, 2…
Mark – exactly. Their a sh***y team right now but they are my sh***y team.
July 29th, 20101:24 pm
Ross was right on the money but just a tad bit late. Maybe we can blame that one on Lowe, eh?
Gawd Our Pitchers Suck at holding runners On!
I think Jim Powell sounds like Ernie from Sesame Street.
That’s a heck of a throw right there. D-Lowe not doing his job. Would have been a double play if he could have held him at first there.
July 29th, 20101:26 pm
Looks like our club is hitting like it was during our 9 game lossing streak earlier this year. Pathetic how lousy we’ve looked in this series so far. Much less how we’ve looked over the last 10 to 12 games.
July 29th, 20101:27 pm
Time for Kawakami!!
July 29th, 20101:28 pm
Lowe 63 pitches in 2 and 2/3 – well done
I hate quitters on the blog more than trolls.
He cleared Dunn. That’s got to be worth something.
Awfense, Come On!
Nova Scotia Steve
It’s all Lowe’s fault??? Give me a break.
This team was shut out by Miguel Batista on Tuesday…had six hits and scored 3 runs on Wednesday and so far has two hits over three inning against Scott Olsen.
Lowe has given up 2 runs – what do you want?
AntiMe–Mets fans are worse…Ive been to both opposing parks this year and surprisingly Met fans were much worse…Got all kinds of things yelled at my wife and I at CitiField, not to mention the old man that got drunk and threw up in his seat and just walked off…That was my experience but of course that Philly fan did throw up on a girl this year…So maybe they both just suck…
How many pitches is Lowe up to now, like about 200? Not a good sign.
If the Braves can’t score more than 3 runs this series, Wren needs to go out and get 2 hitters.
Looks like D. Lowe is on pace to give up 8 or 9 today, so we just have to figure out how to score 10.
and that’s against the worst team in our division.
Derek Lowe is garbage.
uh oh, here comes our feared 3,4 and 5 hitters….
July 29th, 20101:29 pm
“Hey Snotboogie…STFU! I get emotional during games. Deal with it!”
The Crime Shame!
Way Down South
Yeah, Jason Stark reporting Roy O deal done.
Showalter Orioles manager.
July 29th, 20101:30 pm
I really hope FW makes a move before the weekend…This team needs a shot in the arm…Have a bad feeling we are going to stand pat though…
I really don’t know where some of you get such confidence to believe the Braves have any chance to win this game.
They’ve scored three runs through twenty-one innings against the last place team in the division. They just lost a series to the fourth place team in the division when they didn’t even have to face Josh Johnson. They’re .500 since the All-Star break. We’ve seen two blown saves in the past week and lost another game on a walk-off.
The Nationals pitcher almost threw a no-hitter against us they last time he faced the Braves. He’s breezed through the first three innings. He has a two run lead. Derek Lowe sucks and is sure to give up more runs and we’re five games under .500 on the road.
Don’t you just sort of know when they’re going to lose a game? I mean, really. What are you thinking? I have almost no faith the Braves will win this game.
And boy will I be happy if and when they lost because as you all know, I hate the Braves.
Far be it from us to make Olsen work out there…
If I were the manager I’d keep Lowe out there for 8 innings even if he were at 90 pitches by the 5th. He’d earn his money. If it were an every once in a while thing where he couldn’t go more than 5 innings than that’s another story. He does this every single start. Maybe he should try a different strategy going into his next start cause what he’s doing ain’t working.
And stop with little Roy Oswalt going to Philly. Please, he sucks.
July 29th, 20101:31 pm
It’s like our guys aren’t even trying. Have they given up with a 3.5 game lead?
ok, can’t take it anymore. can we please spell the name correctly? It’s Medlen, not Medlin.
People who continue to defend Lowe are so dumb it’s sad.
July 29th, 20101:32 pm
philsfan8 knows I’m realistic. We are what we are. We may suck, but like someone said, they’re MY sucky team. I’ll live with it unlike some of you bandwagonniers.
Despite his slump…I think we can get 85 rbi’s from Trouble-T-Roy…
Now thats a damn good offseason deal right there!
Jim Riggleman shaves his arms..
“I really don’t know where some of you get such confidence to believe the Braves have any chance to win this game.”
Two words: Brooks Conrad.
July 29th, 20101:33 pm
And up goes Glaus’ OBP!
Obviously the team misses Yunel.
