Its our boy Yunie…cmon Escy
Escobar is over due for a HR >_>
I’ve got a feeling that Yunel is going to start driving the ball soon. Just a hunch. This would be a good spot for him to do that.
McFann 1 ;Ô; ;Ô;
Let’s go, Escobar!!
June 30th, 20107:36 pm
oh no! bases loaded. they got us just where they want us rj
should have known Escobar wouldn’t be as patient as the other guys
June 30th, 20107:37 pm
Why is yunel on this team? that SOB can’t hit squat.
Sorry I left you off the list!
Trumpet, eh? Nice…
Bartholomeeeew (Bat) Masterson
EHHRRRRHEhhHR…I’m Female too…JK
…and I play the Trumpet. _ bravos2249
Getting closer to 12
does that out mean that Escobrat is still pouting about the other night ?
How I’d love to have seen Infante up there. I really would start Infante over Escobar.
aggravating. Escobar has been totally worthless this year. guy has walked two people, first pitch to you is a ball, and you swing at the next pitch, which is high. amazing.
June 30th, 20107:38 pm
I would trade Escofarce for Stephen Drew, and Dan Haren, and throw some turds in for boot!
really glad you ain’t managing TnB
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a team pop up so much! When are they gonna stop trying to uppercut everything in sight???
where was that pitch
June 30th, 20107:39 pm
argh – almost got it
Nice effort by Hinske, thought he had it for a second.
June 30th, 20107:40 pm
Let’s give em Escofarce, Melk dud,Kimbrel, and O Walkerty! for Drew, and Haren!
If I were pitching, I’d definitely want Yunel out there behind me.
Bartholomeeeew (Bat) Masterson
LOL. …I totally didn’t make it to sound like that. I’m on my old laptop cause my regular one got’s problems.
nolie – you’re not gonna tell me that Escobar is a better hitter than Infante are you? And I’m not talking about stats that you can throw at me for the last umpteen years – I’m talking about who’s produced consistently THIS year.
he needs to hit better than he has this month if he’s gonna miss that play
June 30th, 20107:41 pm
man… 3 K’s for Jurrjens already. impressive.
not fantasy ball dude, upside and defense actually count in the real game
June 30th, 20107:42 pm
By the way, I agree that Escobar is better defensively – but sooner or later we’re gonna need some offense from SS, especially if we don’t upgrade ourselves in the outfield.
If I were pitching, I’d definitely want Yunel out there behind me
Shhhh, lets not try to make too much sense now. Good old fashion gut instinct from the couch trumps that.
June 30th, 20107:43 pm
Escobar is a better hitter that infante.
June 30th, 20107:44 pm
June 30th, 20107:45 pm
i would have no problem with them trading Escobar in part of a package deal to get another outfielder. i’m not saying they should be shopping him, but if you can get someone quality for him, i’d totally do it.
his stats are down, and that’s undeniable, but it’s more than that. so far he’s just consistently been the weak link on this team. this team has been fun to watch because they seem feisty and hungry to win, and Escobar still seems stuck in the lazy, “anything goes” mode that drove everyone crazy about the Braves the past few years. i was at the game the other night when he made 2 errors and he just looks like he’s totally clueless out there.
Jurrjens came to play today. my word. 4 Ks in first two innings and dealing with the fastball
The Braves are much better off without KK on the mound.
Yep, yep … JJ looks to be back in form.
Go get you a bat Wren!
Does anyone here not remember when Infante has played shortstop…he’s not so slick in fielding. Yes he’s not going to be as good as Escobar…but he had a lot of errors playing there before…idk the stats….look um u yourself…lol
JC from DR!
Jair looking good!
bravos2249 _ Okay, but I’m still liking this calender idea.
Great job, JJ!
June 30th, 20107:46 pm
They said getting JJ back would be like getting an ace…..so far I agree.
Take this whatever way you like it but Roy Halladay is 9-7 this year and Derek Lowe is 9-6. If that isn’t one of the better reasons why wins and losses shouldn’t be looked at as the end all I don’t know what is.
June 30th, 20107:47 pm
Escobar does not drive me crazy
Okay, but I’m still liking this calender idea. Bat
Escobar tries..thats all I can say.
June 30th, 20107:48 pm
shmoe: pretty cool, huh? I never thought they’d make it, not even in the outermost reaches of my fandom. I was just hoping F(ree)S(hoes)U(niv) would make a decent showing so the rest of my family would be happy.
I’ll have to visit that sports knick-knack the next time I’m in Columbia.
Gil In Mechanicsville
Sigh…stuck with the Washington TV feed tonight, Dribble is a putz…
JJ just looks like he’s throwing it HARD. usually watching on t.v. kind of slows the pitches down, but JJ’s throws look intimidating even on t.v.
I swear I hear a damn vuvuzela in the crowd…
Florida in PR in a rain delay…..they got an off day tomorrow…but they gonna be TIRED….advantage Bravos
Yunel’s game has sorted itself out except for the extra-base hits. Over the last month, he has been very solid offensively and defensively. Just needs some doubles sprinkled in and the occassional homerun would be nice too.
June 30th, 20107:49 pm
There are some Jurrjens’ Surgeons in surgical greens in the upper deck tonight. Well done
Jake W., totally agree. When i look at a pitcher’s stats i don’t even look at wins and losses anymore. Derek Lowe has no business having 9 wins.
June 30th, 20107:50 pm
Wow, I just noticed the Phils already played and lost!
Martin told me his mom had arrived and was to be at the game tonight. so he welcomed her to the States with a double.
Awwww! Hi Momma Marteeeeeen.
his stats are down, and that’s undeniable, but it’s more than that. so far he’s just consistently been the weak link on this team. -cheshire
How someone can say this with Nate McLouth on this team I don’t know. Escobar is having a down first half, but Nate McLouth, although on the DL now, has got to be the biggest dissapointment and weak link on this team since he’s been here, thats unless you think we got him to put up the numbers he’s given us. Not to mention he pisses Joe Simpson off everytime he doesn’t throw the ball in.
June 30th, 2010
Ha….. well not completely
June 30th, 20107:51 pm
is Marteen married Soph???
vuvuzelas are event getting annoying to me and you all know how much I love football, I am kind of getting burnt out tho, its been non-stop since last august..I need a little break.
Ease® in Woodstock
What’s wrong with JJ tonight…His fastball “only” clocked at 94…is he still surffering from TIRED sholder?
June 30th, 20107:52 pm
Not to mention he pisses Joe Simpson off everytime he doesn’t throw the ball in. Jake
that’s a good thing IMO
is Marteen married Soph???
Apparently not, Soph rejected him earlier…
What next? The Braves are 8-1 in Medlen’s starts. How bout them apples?
June 30th, 20107:53 pm
oh Marteen, how could you ?
Not to mention he pisses Joe Simpson off everytime he doesn’t throw the ball in.
Doesn’t set all that well with me either
This month for Yunel:
like I said, just a few doubles sprinkled in and he’s fine.
Good question, noles – I don’t think so. Will you find out for me, por favor?
Ease – I had to reject him! jeffrey was using him to get my best OF!
June 30th, 20107:54 pm
Jake, i guess i’ve sort of forgotten about McLouth since we haven’t seen him in awhile. But yeah, he’s been horrendous too and definitely worse than Escobar. But saying McLouth has been worse doesn’t mean Escobar hasn’t been weak.
Someone may be able to provide some statistical evidence that Escobar is amazing this year and is totally pulling it together. I watch almost every game though, and i just feel like he’s been consistently useless so far this year. I can’t remember him coming through yet in a pressure situation.
not that he doesn’t throw it but that it ticks Joe off. he is not a fave
June 30th, 20107:55 pm
McLouth most certainly has been the weakest link on this team for the last year – no argument there at all. But .248, zero power, and 18 RBI from the starting SS isn’t exactly great either.
June 30th, 20107:56 pm
Oops, JJ slowed down the pitcher’s bat there.
you’ve got to be kidding me… that’s the luckiest double i’ve ever seen
June 30th, 20107:57 pm
JJ better not cause the Braves to run out of fireworks before Friday!
geez – JJ is lookin’ vicious tonight
June 30th, 20107:58 pm
All the hits have been doubles so far…
JJ’s lookin’ GOOD!
Gil, you in Mechanicsville, Va or MD?
Steve from OH
Yunel’s OBP is still almost .350…it’s not like he’s been completely worthless with the stick. That’s decent value from a SS, good defense and a .350 OBP, especially with Yunel capable of much more. No reason to think he won’t have a big second half IMO.
Yeah, I’ll take Joe’s side on this one. At least throw it in, take your chances. It is frustrating but it appears to me its just a little bit more frustrating to Simpson. To be fair I think he is dumbfounded by it most of the time, especially when he cut in front of Jason that time only to hold on to the ball.
Who else is excited to see this from JJ? He hasn’t lost a step.
June 30th, 20107:59 pm
ok, Bravos. How about some runs. It would be nice to give Bobby the luxury of pulling JJ at around 85-90 pitches, not pushing him too much in his first start back.
The middle inning guys have not been all that solid lately. A 4 or 5 run lead would be a luxury, tonight especially.
a bigger one at least Steve
Do something good Melky
June 30th, 20108:00 pm
that was 13 pitches in the third inning for Jurrjens, 11 of them for strikes
Well, Crime Dog – there’s your vuvuzela.
And there it is.
Denizens, I have a question:
Does the blue lot at Turner Field have any of those permanent charcoal grills you find at campsites? I remember them being there but I could be misremembering.
Blech. that vuvuzela needs to be escorted out
June 30th, 20108:02 pm
Everyone in that section with the horn guy should beat the hell out of him. This is not kickball.
Who’s blowing a Vulvula in the crowd?
I understand it is South Africa’s tradition the zela, but lets not make it ours…I hate bees.
Freddie Freeman 1-2 with a 2B tonight. Coming in to tonight’s game, his season line is .279/.342/.470. Not too bad for a 20 year-old in the International League.
June 30th, 20108:03 pm
Okay Chipper …… lets go Heap
I thought you would know Soph,… I heard he is dating a girl from Rome named Emily
easy bp, easy on the “kick ball” nonsense.
June 30th, 20108:04 pm
Nate not making throws has convinced that at least part of his problem is mental. When he is at the plate, I see it in his eyes too. I know that physical issues can lead to mental issues. Hard to really say though.
June 30th, 20108:05 pm
Not enough chicken nuggets at MickeyD’s huh McFat?
The Braves are getting this pitcher out of too many pickles.
June 30th, 20108:06 pm
A little emotion from Glaussy there. Done that a lot lately.
Sorry…that last post was Petey…
