And I’m not there to catch cab…
June 30th, 20106:49 pm
Then again, I hadn’t heard any gossip about Teixeira or Hudson before we traded for them
Did you live under a rock?
June 30th, 20106:50 pm
Arodys Vizcaino has been shut down in Myrtle Beach with elbow soreness but Kurt Kemp tells me doctors are saying he doesn’t need surgery, that he’ll start a rehab program in Orlando
I guess so
June 30th, 20106:51 pm
Did I miss something?
RG was swooning over Javy Lopez…
June 30th, 20106:53 pm
Well, of course! He’s JAVY LOPEZ!!
Come on batter, hit the ball!
Bartholomeeeew (Bat) Masterson
I want Hank Aaron and Willie Mays…and id be happy. _ Colin
Oh I don’t know. I doubt at this point, they would that much of an upgrade over what we have now.
June 30th, 20106:56 pm
Does this mean I won’t have to keep you updated on the game?
I think this is the first time I’ve watched Braves Live in probably a month…
Bart, valid point, I should clarify, 25-27 year old Hank Aaron and Willie Mays.

DOWN ON THE FARM:
DSL-BRAVES drop one 4-1 to the ANGELS but retain lead in their division. SS RON LUNA has a multi-hiy game (2-4) and ups his BA slightly (.386). He’s having a good campaign so far.
GCL-BRAVES lose to the PHILLIES 6-12, and drop into second in the Gulf Coast North division. SS MATT LIPKA has a 1-3 outing, 2 BB, a double, and 2 RBI.
This game was pitched by committee. Five BRAVES hurlers take the mound starting with ZEKE SPRUILL who goes 1.0 IP and gives up 1 H, otherwise zeros. two others perform equally well, but layered between the three, two perform not so well. ERNESTO SILVA (0-1) pitching next takes the loss by having a horror show of an evening surrendering 11 H, 10 R, and a BB while striking out one and ending the evenings work with a 43.20 ERA (1.1 IP). Cumulative ERA at 15.43.
Clean-up hitter and 23rd round pick DH EVAN GATTIS fattens his BA considerably last game going 4-4 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI climbing to .455 in 22 AB’s. Its early, but several draftees are bolting from the gate in the rush to stardom. 6th rounder 3B JOE TERDOSLAVICH is 3-6 with 3 RBI and a run scored on the evening raising his BA to .323 (31 AB – 10 H). 4 others have two hit games, but it’s too early to get very excited about their prospects at this point.
10th rounder MATT LEWIS (2.08) pitches 3.0 innings of four hit, one run ball.
ROME pitching surrenders four, GREENSBORO three, and the R-BRAVES go down in flames. BRETT DeVALL starts, goes 5.0 IP with 3 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 4 BB, and 7 SO, good enough to win, but STEVE FIGUEROA (2.0 IP) comes on in middle relief, gives up one and takes the collar dropping his record to 0-2. WILTON ESTAVEZ comes on throwing blanks, but the bugs are out of the jar, and the BRAVES hitters disappear in the brush rather than round up the Grasshoppers.
RIAAN SPANJER-FURSTENBURG has the only two hit game, half of the R-BRAVES offense actually, going 2-3 with a walk and raising his BA to .317.
June 30th, 20106:58 pm
Willingham batting .111 vs JJ…1 for 9! Promising!
June 30th, 20107:02 pm
cab – I’ll try to get by, but we’re getting busier – should be okay, though…
cheers to JJ pitching a gem tonight.
June 30th, 20107:03 pm
Let’s get behind JAIR tonight team. He needs your support, and we must win this series. We can’t let ZIMMERMAN, WILLINGHAM, and GUZMAN come into our house and best our BRAVES. I’ve got to listen to DRIBBLE gloating if they do. DAMM, I hate that. So let’s go BRAVES.
Jurjens is going to lessen the need for a big bat.
June 30th, 20107:04 pm
There is just something wrong with a guy telling the fans to, basically, go _ _ _ _ themselves and being rewarded with a 199 million dollar contract. Gonna be hard to pull for Joe J. and the Hawks.
If we traded for Aaron or Mays people would complain that we gave up too much.
June 30th, 20107:05 pm
ballgame. chipper 2-4 with 2 homers and a walk
June 30th, 20107:06 pm
Bron to the Knicks at 1201..Joe to the Knicks 1202 and Amar’e to the Knicks 1203.
jefreeeeey d never heard of tex with the rangers or huddie with his cy young award in Oakland? You watch any baseball besides the Braves?
Whoops ….$ 119 million…
June 30th, 20107:08 pm
He said he hadnt heard trade rumors about them. Please.
June 30th, 20107:09 pm
kill the chik-fil-a cow!! geez what a joke
June 30th, 20107:10 pm
Glad JJ is back. His performance tonight could be just about anything. If he struggles. I’m sure the blog will be level-headed about it though. Nothing to worry about there.
Tonight’s pitcher for the Nats is a strike-thrower. He’s been dodging bullets apparently this season, but his defense hasn’t helped him so mich (8 unearned runs in 5 starts). I think his 3.03 ERA is misleading to be honest. We’ll see how it all plays out.
I think a good first inning for Jair is key. Go Braves.
Yeah, i’m not for the Hawks going all out for Joe Johnson in that way. They let the coach go but its just as much on those players not getting the job done in that series vs Orlando. To much money for a guy of his stature i’m afraid.
June 30th, 20107:11 pm
Way to go Chipper
June 30th, 20107:12 pm
Bob Carpenter called that an easy play for Chipper. If Zimmerman had made that play, they would have said the phrase “gold glover” about 17 times. Funny.
June 30th, 20107:14 pm
bob carpenter and dibble are two big ninnies
June 30th, 20107:15 pm
I’m watching the MASN coverage. That camera angle on SportsSouth. JEEZ! Could the batter appear any further away?
woohoo! JJ looks nice so far
Welcome back kid!
last pitch from JJ in the first inning was 94 to strike out Zimmerman. 14 piches, nine for strikes in a perfect first.
June 30th, 20107:16 pm
Nice first inning for JJ.Should help settle him. Cant believe he’s been out that long really.
that was a great start, wow.
Nice start JJ……. Lets get some runs early…….
JJ is running is fastball to 93 mph. Good sign.
JJ, they cant’ resist your high, hard one!!!!!!!! Welcome back.
June 30th, 20107:17 pm
That camera angle on SportsSouth. JEEZ! Could the batter appear any further away?
I actually really like it. I’ve gotten used to being able to tell if the pitch is over the plate or not and whenever they use that other angle on PTV or other networks, it sort of annoys me.
McFann 1 Ô Ô
My internet’s being a JERKHEAD again…
June 30th, 20107:18 pm
there’s your good first inning Lawton
lets get prado jumpstarted again
June 30th, 20107:19 pm
So we have Martin pitching to Prado. If someone yelled Marteeeen there might be some confusion.
shmoe i wasn’t the only one commenting about that. you are picking on me. waaaaaa
June 30th, 20107:20 pm
Best lead-off man in NL….Pradoooooooooooo!!!
Martin bests Martin!
Marteeeen = hitting machine.
I think he’s gonna be starting the All-Star game.
June 30th, 20107:21 pm
martin to marteeeen!
Marteeeeeeeeeen is a boss.
Martin told me his mom had arrived and was to be at the game tonight. so he welcomed her to the States with a double.
June 30th, 20107:22 pm
yep, nolie. good first inning.
a few effectively wild pitches mixed in with some good pitches can be a good combination, imo.
Chippey will bring him home. Single to RF.
June 30th, 20107:23 pm
guy with a 660 OPS needs to get his damn bunts down
Love to see the leadoff double from Prado. Honest question, not a rip on Bobby or anyone. With Melky hitting in the 2 spot, dont you bunt Prado to 3rd? Or, because its early and they are at home, they are going to swing away? Or something else entirely?
do you think she’s DOUBLY happy about that?? hehe
What is that on Chipper’s face? Eww.
June 30th, 20107:24 pm
and they weren’t even tough pitches to bunt. Not a good at bat there for Melky at all. Maybe Chipper and Mac can pick him up.
Just want to jump in here and give personal alumna props to USC for taking home the College World Series trophy…………’way to go Gamecocks.
I wasn’t around to celebrate yesterday………thank goodness one of my teams won
June 30th, 20107:25 pm
With Melky hitting in the 2 spot, dont you bunt Prado to 3rd?
You do if Melky could’ve gotten the bunt down.
that’s right! im a usc alum too!
lots of near misses for Chipper this year
June 30th, 20107:26 pm

Yepper that is the first inning rap we need to hear!
JC from DR!
i prefer BigMacs to Strasburgers any day!
Oposite field, too! I love it!!
June 30th, 20107:28 pm
Troy might be glad to see June go away
good to see McCann hit the ball very hard to left field. He is getting into a groove, I think.
Sorry Roman Gal, thanks for the update. Figured that reading the other posts. Have my son (just turned 3) and was helping him wash his hands for dinner and turned around to see the end of Melky’s at bat, just wondered why he was not bunting. Now I know.
Pudge is gettin’ a workout back there…
June 30th, 20107:29 pm
I need me some Hinske…badly!
Hinske going deep here.
I think he is, too! Like I said, he just needs to make contact, and GOOD THINGS will happen!
Hinske due for a bomb.
June 30th, 20107:30 pm
nice thing about Troy, when he cools down he still draws some walks
No need to apologize, Roy. Sanitation is very important.
Snotboogie Hit it McFann!
June 30th, 20107:32 pm
Looks like we’re back to good Braves baseball tonight, melky notwithstanding
June 30th, 20107:33 pm
Hinske making him work.
June 30th, 20107:34 pm
Deep into the count that is >_>
i>Just wanted you to know I did miss ya’ll. You, Brava, Roman Gal, Soph….we gals gotta stick together, right?
