Did anyone notice how the vaunted Roy Halladay has 4 losses in his last 5 starts (including today) and 6 losses in his last 9. ERA is still low and he pitches well into the game, but he sure isnt looking as scary as in March.

Escobar is FAR from expendable. His bat is coming back around. Just because a guy mopes around, that doesn’t make him a bad guy in the clubhouse. Omar isn’t able to replace him on an everyday basis.

Afternoon, blog denizens. I see the Braves managed a nice win over the phenom Strasburg the other night while I was away (out of town).
That was nice news to return home to for sure.
So what do you guys think about our Marteeeen probably being the starting 2nd baseman in the ASG because of Utley’s injury? I’m not one to wish bad luck on anyone…but man, that was superb timing, right?
Go Marteeen!! You deserve it.
Ya’ll anxious to see JJ return to the mound tonight? I hope he returns to form. I think his first start will be shaky, but he will hold his own and the offense will support him.

Schafer may never make it back to the Show, he may never hit more than .229 in AAA. I don’t know and neither does anyone else at this point. I’m a big Omar fan! Let’s not confuse a potential super shortstop in all aspects of the game with a very valuable and versatile player that can, indeed, more than hold his own.
Some folks don’t like Esky (a la Bobby), but what they don’t like is built into him by where he played. Yeah, he can seem childish at times, but there is a nice fire there. I’ll bet his team mates are happy to take him on as a project (growing up). It’s darn hard to get a package like him. Especially if he starts to rake again and I’m confident he will.
