Monday’s matchup: Braves RH Derek Lowe (9-5, 4.42 ERA) vs. RH Craig Stammen (1-2, 5.43 ERA).
* Lowe is 5-2 with a 3.28 ERA in his past nine starts, including five quality starts in his past six. He’s 6-4 with a 3.68 ERA in 18 career games (12 starts) against the Nationals, but was just 1-3 with a 5.06 ERA in five starts against them in 2009.
* Stammen was recalled from Triple-A Monday. He went 0-2 with a 4.80 ERA in his last eight starts before being sent to the minors three weeks ago when Stephen Strasburg was added to the rotation. Stammen pitched well in his only start against the Braves, allowing four hits and two runs (on two homers) in six innings for no decision last Aug. 12 at Turner Field.

Your absolutely right. We don’t get enough respect. Its like ppl feel this is a fluke, and its not. When we went on our winning streak no one was saying anything. The White Sox go on one and all hell breaks loose. The media was talking saying, “oh, the Philllies have a tough schedule” Are you f-ing kidding me???? We’ve played two first place teams in the AL and took 2 out of 3 from both(TB and Min). Pay attention America, this team is for real and we don’t have a full squad….

Despite all the critics….you look up and there is Lowe going for win #10 two weeks before the All-Star Break! Lets give the man the respect he deserves….he is an important and solid part of the Braves rotation and is one of the many reasons the Braves have the best record in the NL!
