COME ON EVERYBODY ON THIS BLOG NEEDS TO VOTE FOR MCCANN, PRADO & HEYWARD FOR THE ALL STAR GAME. DO IT NOW. DO IT 25 TIMES!”
In a word, NO!
I watched McCann get jobbed by the Cubs catcher. I watched him get jobbed by Martin. I watched him get jobbed by Molina. I was really ticked every time. So am i agoing to vote for him or Heyward so they can JOB some other more deserving player this year? Hell no! Mac and Heyward are undeserving.
On the other hand, Prado, should be an all star and deserves as many votes as we can cast!
June 25th, 20106:43 pm
Jason Heyward’s past 23 games: .179 (17-for-95) with 3 doubles, 1 homer, 7 RBIs, 13 BB, 32 K, .284 OBP, .242 slugging percentage
Glaus also is deserving.
June 25th, 20106:44 pm
There were a lot of people in line at the advance-ticket window while ago, and most of them were buying tix for Monday: Strasburg vs. Hudson
June 25th, 20106:45 pm
“Jason Heyward’s past 23 games: .179 (17-for-95) with 3 doubles, 1 homer, 7 RBIs, 13 BB, 32 K, .284 OBP, .242 slugging percentage”
not someone deserving of all star consideration.
June 25th, 20106:46 pm
ncscoots – Look at highlights from Heyward’s first at bat and see his location in regards to the plate. He is closer and I don’t mean to beat a dead horse but the bottom line he doesn’t look comfortable. Maybe it is like they say because of his wrist.
Maybe they are informing them that they plan to trade kk. Just wishful thinking. whatever happened to Scot Thorman? Is he in the Braves minor league system?
I meant his thumb.
McFann Ô Ô
June 25th, 20106:55 pm
For the record, McCann also got jobbed by Paul Lo Duca.
June 25th, 20107:03 pm
Yeah, he has had a tendency of getting ripped of at All-Star games.
June 25th, 20107:06 pm
In 4 All-Star games, McCann has a total of 3 ABs. One year Russel Martin got 3 in a game and McCann got 0.
Change Turner Field to Aaron Stadium
June 25th, 20107:08 pm
So Heyward struggles for 23 games, and everything he’s done before that doesn’t make him worthy of All-Star consideration? Wow, talk about fairweather!!
June 25th, 20107:09 pm
Hey Escobar Idiot, vote for your boys or get lost. I want to see my boys. You can drop your loser “get jobbed” holier than thou crap. Loser.
June 25th, 20107:10 pm
I do think anymore the all-star game is about who the fans want to see more than anything. And the fans want to see Heyward. There are always a couple bad all-stars voted in but the manager’s picks are usually a lot worse. Besides, think about how many games Heyward has won for the Braves almost single-handedly?
Hey Dave I got mine for monday night. I have to see this guy live!!
June 25th, 20107:11 pm
I am with you Rhino!
p.s. I kind of like the Aaron Stadium idea. That would be pretty sweet to see a major league ballpark named after a player.
June 25th, 20107:12 pm
Nice Furman! Should be a great game. I’d love to be there!!
June 25th, 20107:13 pm
Aaron Stadium at Turner Field. Keep em both.
June 25th, 20107:14 pm
Haha. Pull an LA Angels of Anaheim
Of course, not getting a start in the All-Star game has put him in position to get a big hit late in the game, something he has yet to do. I don’t think Brian has any hits in any of his All-Star at-bats.
Frankly, I don’t know if he really deserves to make the team this year but he gets the benefit of the doubt.
I’d like to see Jason get a start but the longer the game goes the more one of our guys has the opportunity to be a hero a la McGriff in ‘94.
And for the record, I’ve voted 50 times so I’ve done my part.
June 25th, 20107:15 pm
@ Furman, I like the idea of keeping them both…
June 25th, 20107:16 pm
I agree with you on this year Mitchell. McCann is not having a ‘McCann’ year. I’ve just hated in past years when he gets thrown in the 8th just because the manager wants to get everybody in. Feels like he’s being overlooked.
Rhino, why you gotta keep pushing your blog on us? Give it a rest.
June 25th, 20107:17 pm
Sorry. Didn’t mean that in a bad way. It’s just always right there.

Talk about an idiot fan! Thats you!
The fact is Heyward isn’t the most deserving for starting in the outfield. I won’t even waste my time going into ALL the other NL outfielders who are having better years than Heyward.
Hey Pal. Educate yourself, then come back an argue who should be in the starting outfield.
Geez what a putz.
June 25th, 20107:18 pm
i think he is still got alot to offer but his attitude has to go.
Why are people so hung up on Escobar’s “attitude”? And even if you have a good reason, I haven’t heard anything about his attitude this season, so why are y’all still making a big deal about it?
Nice blog Rhino.
June 25th, 20107:19 pm
It’s cool man. You don’t have to click on it though. I just like getting some traffic and comments. Most blogs have it so you’re website is linked to your name in a comment and you don’t have to put the link as a salutation.
It’s idiots like you and old dummy Furman who are the reason the fan vote has gotten a bad name!
June 25th, 20107:20 pm
I think that Escobar just has yet to get into a good rhythem because he keeps getting hurt
Rob from SC
June 25th, 20107:21 pm
Terry Pendleton has said numorus times that because of Heyward’s thumb he can’t extend to reach pitches on the outer third of the plate. He can’t hit that pitch with authority.
If that is true, why not move closer to take that location away from the pitcher. Once he is healthy he can move back to his comfort spot.
Baseball is about adjustments. If he doesn’t move closer, that pitch is all he will see
Ken Rosenthal thinks the Dodgers need to trade Kemp for pitching and suggest the Braves as the best trade partner.
What would it take to get Kemp?
June 25th, 20107:22 pm
I dont see how the fan vote is not working out. It is for who the fans want to see and if someone gets the most votes then he is one people want to turn on the tv to see. Pretty simple to see but for a fool like you maybe not so much. It isnt always for this years stats but for a few years or a career.
June 25th, 20107:26 pm
Frogs 3, Bruins 1. Bottom of the 7th inning.
June 25th, 20107:27 pm
Glaus should definitely be considered for the All-Star game.
June 25th, 20107:28 pm
whatever happened to Scot Thorman?
June 25th, 20107:29 pm
Braves having first alumni weekend, about 15 players introduced before game. Dale Murphy got by far biggest ovation. Should be noted, however, that Hank’s not here. Not sure why.
Javy Lopez, Sid Bream and Otis Nixon also got big ovations. And Marquis Grissom.
Someone on an earlier page had what I would consider a resonable proposal for Kemp.
Braves get Kemp. LA gets Melky, Medlin, and either Hoover or Minor.
You know the saying you have to give something to get something…

yeah and some idiot fans like you and some idiot media types who are so much flavor of the week people want Strasburg to be in the AS game. Why? Because he’s a big story! Doesn’t matter if he won’t have 7 games by the AS break. Doesn’t matter if there are guys who’ve been pitching since spring training and having great years. Doesn’t matter because it’s a pop culture society and pop culture fans. Stupid fans like you have voted for all star starters that have been on the DL for all season.
Furman, fans like you are who kept Mac from being a starter when he deserved it! I have no respect for your kind. You’re a fool.
June 25th, 20107:31 pm
Hey Dave no Fransico Cabrerra? Shame.
Rhino I’ve just hated in past years when he gets thrown in the 8th just because the manager wants to get everybody in. Feels like he’s being overlooked.
He’s been way overlooked in the ASG. Like last year when Manuel left Molina in for 8 innings because he was the “hometown hero”. Puke city…
And don’t get me started on the 2008 ASG…Why should we have to revisit that nonsense?
@ Escobar, coming from you, I take that as a compliment. Thanks!!
June 25th, 20107:33 pm
The game is on MLB Network tonight in my area.
June 25th, 20107:34 pm
Sure thing Escobar Idiot. I think evedryone on here knows who the fool is. Keep talking you just keep building your case for Douche Bag of the day. LOL.
June 25th, 20107:35 pm
Smoltzy, come back to Peachtree TV!
If we are going to put Heyward in the All-Star game, somebody tell me how in the heck Dale Murphy is not in the Hall of Fame? You talk about an injustice. Dale Murphy is what America is all about. Lawrence Taylor and OJ still in NFL Hall of Fame and Murphy can’t get into Baseball just because he didn’t hit 2 more HRs.
Roman Gal, I agree, about attitudes. Remember when John Rocker was our closer? There were a lot of people hated him cause of his “tude” but, the dude could pitch!!!
June 25th, 20107:36 pm
COME ON EVERYBODY ON THIS BLOG NEEDS TO VOTE FOR MCCANN, PRADO & HEYWARD FOR THE ALL STAR GAME. DO IT NOW. DO IT 25 TIMES! If your name is Escobar Idiot you can vote for everyone else.
Dale Murphy’s picture is by the word character in the Dictionary.
Furman, you’re not capable of making a knowledgable baseball argument so you come back with that last post?
That’s pretty weak, dumbo! lol You and “Change Turner Field to Aaron Stadium” should share seats at the Ted….. then you could ask each other every inning what the score is. lol
June 25th, 20107:37 pm
I see Carlos Zambrano went berserko again.
I am with ya Jesse James on that
Hey Folks happy friday, hopefully the Braves make it a even better weekend!
June 25th, 20107:38 pm
Hi cab! Heard you got married. I would say congrats but I’m pretty disappointed that I wasn’t invited. How could you?
so true, McCann O O (Sorry, can’t get your name exactly right haha)
@escobaridiot- there are bigger problems with the all-star game than fan vote. also, if the NL wants to win so they have homefield advantage in the world series, shouldn’t their best pitchers be there? This would certainly include Strasburg.
Fantastic way to begin the game, Meds!! Strike 1,2,3…you’re out!
Johnny Damon, meet Kris Medlen.
Yeah, apparently he’s been suspended indefinitely.
Where have you been?
June 25th, 20107:39 pm
Where is Smoltzie? Have they said on Peachtree? Vacation maybe, or other commitments?
Was that Raphael Belliard??
I seen somthing about Kemp should be traded to the Braves pretty interesting. I’m expecting Wren to do somthing considering its Bobby and possiblys Chippers last year, let go for it right now
June 25th, 20107:40 pm
Mah dang…is Ease around?
(Sorry, can’t get your name exactly right haha)
Haha, that’s OK!
June 25th, 20107:41 pm
Apparently I should have invited the entire blog…Tom O’Hawke was supposed to pass the message along, but clearly he forgot We can blame him…
Hiya McFann! Just one of those weeks – didn’t have much time to get online. This is the first game in a while where I can actually sit down and watch. I guess I didn’t miss much in the Sox series though.
Where have you been?
She jumped off the bandwagon when we started losing and started rooting for the Yankees
Who do you think she is- Roman Gal?
Did y’all really get married?
June 25th, 20107:42 pm
jeffreeeeeey d — Yep, you bet it was Rafael Belliard. I remember when he played for ATL…back in the good ole days.
Darn cab, I’m pretty unhappy about this. I mean I coulda been a bridesmaid or something, ya know?
Look at the cast like thing Heyward has on his thumb on his glove hand
Ew, jeffrey – don’t start rumors.
June 25th, 20107:43 pm
Tight zone so far.
jeffreeeeeeeey d -
NO WE DID NOT GET MARRIED!
Should we start sharpening the pitchforks and searching for a “Tom O’Hawke” in New York? I
June 25th, 20107:44 pm
Come on Meds…don’t let them score!
Of course it’s gonna rain and make my dish go out so I can’t see the game now.
June 25th, 20107:45 pm
I stopped to see what’s going on with the blog, and I see that ncscoots ralphed all over it.
Sorry, cab. I took your invitation money and bought beer.
I didn’t know Belliard was coaching with the Tigers….good for him. Dude was a wiz with the glove.
Medlen desperately needs a third pitch.
Soph – we already got the storm here. All I missed was the evening news
June 25th, 20107:46 pm
Ah, dang..did we just have to let them score first?
Is that so they don’t feel sooo bad when we come back to whoop their butts?
June 25th, 2010
Of course it’s gonna rain and make my dish go out so I can’t see the game now.
You are not missing much right now. THey are sitting on Medlen’s changeup
“NL wants to win so they have homefield advantage in the world series, shouldn’t their best pitchers be there? This would certainly include Strasburg.”
Best pitchers? Strasburg? After less than half a dozen games and never tested by REAL major league pressure, for example an all star game with something really riding on it??
Sorry, I can’t agree that he’s one of the best pitchers in the NL…….YET. Will he be? Looks like it. Barring injury, he could he be a great pitcher for a number of years? So why rush him this year?
I know why. Because the media wants him to be there. The fans listen to the media and they jump on the band wagon. What do the players think? The majority don’t think he deserves it. I’ll side with the players on that.
Hope it was a good microbrew at least! Bye for now!
June 25th, 20107:47 pm
What is happening to Braves starters. They all seem to be struggling, with the exception of Hudson and Lowe.
Steve from OH
Rob–he’s got it. I just don’t know why he doesn’t throw the curve. When he first came up he threw it a bit and I thought it was pretty sharp.
Hey jeffreeeey d — I read that Belliard was an “Auxilliary coach” for Detroit…whatever that means.
and right on cue, here’s Nick!
Jeff, I started that mess! Didn’t know they weren’t married. Should have, I’ve been lurking on this blog for yrs. Just recently got up the nerve to post.
June 25th, 20107:48 pm
By the way, you don’t sit on a changeup. That’s a terrible approach to take as a hitter.
Nice catch Melky
Melky looked like a newborn giraffe on that play.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
