COME ON EVERYBODY ON THIS BLOG NEEDS TO VOTE FOR MCCANN, PRADO & HEYWARD FOR THE ALL STAR GAME. DO IT NOW. DO IT 25 TIMES!”

In a word, NO!

I watched McCann get jobbed by the Cubs catcher. I watched him get jobbed by Martin. I watched him get jobbed by Molina. I was really ticked every time. So am i agoing to vote for him or Heyward so they can JOB some other more deserving player this year? Hell no! Mac and Heyward are undeserving.

On the other hand, Prado, should be an all star and deserves as many votes as we can cast!

Jason Heyward’s past 23 games: .179 (17-for-95) with 3 doubles, 1 homer, 7 RBIs, 13 BB, 32 K, .284 OBP, .242 slugging percentage

ncscoots – Look at highlights from Heyward’s first at bat and see his location in regards to the plate. He is closer and I don’t mean to beat a dead horse but the bottom line he doesn’t look comfortable. Maybe it is like they say because of his wrist.

I do think anymore the all-star game is about who the fans want to see more than anything. And the fans want to see Heyward. There are always a couple bad all-stars voted in but the manager’s picks are usually a lot worse. Besides, think about how many games Heyward has won for the Braves almost single-handedly?

Of course, not getting a start in the All-Star game has put him in position to get a big hit late in the game, something he has yet to do. I don’t think Brian has any hits in any of his All-Star at-bats.

Frankly, I don’t know if he really deserves to make the team this year but he gets the benefit of the doubt.

I’d like to see Jason get a start but the longer the game goes the more one of our guys has the opportunity to be a hero a la McGriff in ‘94.

And for the record, I’ve voted 50 times so I’ve done my part.

Terry Pendleton has said numorus times that because of Heyward’s thumb he can’t extend to reach pitches on the outer third of the plate. He can’t hit that pitch with authority.

If that is true, why not move closer to take that location away from the pitcher. Once he is healthy he can move back to his comfort spot.

Baseball is about adjustments. If he doesn’t move closer, that pitch is all he will see

I dont see how the fan vote is not working out. It is for who the fans want to see and if someone gets the most votes then he is one people want to turn on the tv to see. yeah and some idiot fans like you and some idiot media types who are so much flavor of the week people want Strasburg to be in the AS game. Why? Because he’s a big story! Doesn’t matter if he won’t have 7 games by the AS break. Doesn’t matter if there are guys who’ve been pitching since spring training and having great years. Doesn’t matter because it’s a pop culture society and pop culture fans. Stupid fans like you have voted for all star starters that have been on the DL for all season.

Best pitchers? Strasburg? After less than half a dozen games and never tested by REAL major league pressure, for example an all star game with something really riding on it??

Sorry, I can’t agree that he’s one of the best pitchers in the NL…….YET. Will he be? Looks like it. Barring injury, he could he be a great pitcher for a number of years? So why rush him this year?

I know why. Because the media wants him to be there. The fans listen to the media and they jump on the band wagon. What do the players think? The majority don’t think he deserves it. I’ll side with the players on that.
