McLouth altered his batting stance a couple of days ago with the help of TP. I hope this is a sign of improvement, if Nate gets hot, we would be unstoppable!
Player A is hitting .295 with 3 homers and 23 rbi
Player B is hitting .286 with 10 homers and 42 rbi
Player A is Jason Bay and the mets signed him for 66 million for 4 years while Troy Glaus was signed for 1 year 1.75 million. I think its fair to say Wren got a steal.
Bobbeeee’s: Neither. I was getting coffee in the media lunchroom and they had the radio feed on the speakers in there. Good timing on my part. Can use that in my game story, credit The Man, Scully.
Everyone on the blog should listen to Scully call a Braves/Dodgers game. You’d think by listening to the guy we have the best team in baseball history, then you look at the blog and think we have the worst team in Cobb County Little League. Huge contrast.
Rob–makes me wonder what they’re feeding the kid, LOL! That’s a huge jump based on previous numbers I’ve seen. Unless they knew that there were some mechanical things they could fix to add velo when they drafted him…
In April, 90% of the bloggers were “haters” in the sense that they were critical of the team’s performance. Now 90% of the bloggers are scolding the former “haters.” I guess we’ve had a lot of turnover on this blog.
in defense is Bay, he is playing in a pitchers park, he needs a pretty good swing to hit one out..but yes Glaus is better.
Yeah Colin but the mets knew what kind of park they had and it was their choice to sign him. Pitching was what they needed the most and it makes sense in that park and they chose to go with Bay. I remember a lot of the experts warning about the fact that his power numbers would obviously not be the same at Citi as they were at Fenway.
yup I totally agree Jake, they knew and he knew what he was going into..his numbers were inflated due to the fact that the green monster is a arms length away to play catch with.
Polanco is pretty deserving he is having heck of a season. I still think Mcghee of the Brewers should be leading at 3rd base. At SS it has to be Hanley
Love doubles & triples hitters. Much more polished ballplayers IMHO & much more fun to watch. Martin said the other day the game is different these days with the HR hitters. It was in the Charlie Manuel/Prado/All-Star game article on here the other day. Martin is much too humble. Manuel said players like Prado is what the game is becoming again (play different positions, can hit, etc…). The game is finding its way back to a healthy medium of small-ball/wait for the 3-run HR, again in the post-roid era, and it’s nice to see.
One thing DOB said on the air which I haven’t heard yet, is that Martin hasn’t had a lot of recognition because the league & baseball fans had only 1 offseason to think about him as the Braves full time 2nd baseman since he took over at 2nd last year midseason. He really had lots of good things to say about Martin.
In April, 90% of the bloggers were “haters” in the sense that they were critical of the team’s performance. Now 90% of the bloggers are scolding the former “haters.” I guess we’ve had a lot of turnover on this blog.
Well I can only speak for myself but i think I would definitely not fall in the category of a hater and as one of the regulars who had to deal with their whining every night, (nick, willieg and others) I am taking full advantage of the good play of this team proving them wrong.
If the Dodgers thought they were going to imtimidate us this series after we just swept the Phillies, they were sorely mistaken.
Okay, maybe I’m speaking as a fan but something tells me the Braves aren’t worring themselves much about a team that has scored two runs in 24 innings.
And I didn’t need Joe Simpson to remind me of that. Two runs in two games plus against the DBacks?

“I CALLED THAT!”
calling it means saying” Nate will come up big for us with a hit”, putting “maybe” in front of that doesn’t make it a call.
