Just finished voting all of my alloted votes as well as my husband’s emails too.
I want to stay up to watch, but we didn’t get home from the game on Tuesday night until 1:15 a.m., and I’m still sleep deprived. But, it’s been a good sleep deprived! Wouldn’t change it for a second!
Before the AB:
Chipper to himself: Ok Chip, remember, do not swing at anything if possible, specially at those outside pitches, wait for the walk. Remember it.
During the AB:
Chipper to himself: Ok old man, dont swing at anything outside, you know what’s gonna happen… here it comes, remember, don’t do it… here… aaah *makes a weak, one-handed, short, unbalance swing, hitting a tapper/grounder right at the second baseman for the out/4-6-3 DP*.. Damnit!
After the AB:
Chipper to trainers: I think I hurt my ring finger.
Trainers: How?
Chipper: Well, while hustling (smirk) down the line I felt some pain in my superior oblique muscle, I tried to stop running and that’s when I pulled left my groin.
Trainers: I thought you said you hurt your finger, how was that?
Chipper: I dont know, I tried to signal you guys with my hand to come check me out, and the finger just broke.

Hey DOB, I just heard your interview with Charley Steiner via XM radio on my interminable drive home from work (1 1/2 hours — wall-to-wall parking lot all the way across the lake). Great interview! (Although you didn’t sound exactly like I expected. But when I thought about your picture, the voice matched. Funny how that works.)
maybe Nathaniel needs to take a trip upstate to a farm, to run around with all the other people who arent hitting right now..free open space to run around with the pitchers.
Don’t get quiet now TP HATERS! Couldn’t find anyone to blame the early woes on, so you chose TP. Now the team is winning and TP gets no credit.. You guys are amazing.
bird, not sure what you are chirping about. I thought TP needed to go, and while I am truly enjoying the turn around, I have not idea how much credit to give to TP. There were a few feel good articles written about him in the paper, and he stood up and gave some interviews, but I have yet to hear anyone on the team blame him for their struggles, or credit him for their success. Glaus certainly has not stood up and said “Thank you TP for helping me get through that.”
You would be better to just drop it and enjoy the great baseball we are being treated with.
Boy, it’s a great night to stay up late to celebrate my last day of work (I’m a school psychologist). I owe the Clayton county schools hierarchy props for making the last day of work coincide with the first day of a west coast Braves trip. I can’t wait to sleep until 11:00 tomorrow!
