Yeah, Dempsey’s the bomb. He and Landon seem to be playing well together, too. The team looks like it has good chemistry like the 2002 team. I find Findley to be pretty predictable when he gets the ball. He always takes it to the end line and goes for a cross. Good defenders are going to shut him down.
jeffery d…. just passing the time till this LATE game starts. But we are all Braves fans so at least we have that in common. I hope the Dodgers AND Lakers get smoked tonight!!
Yeah I’m not evenl BSU. I just don’t see logic in hating on teams I’m rather indifferent about. There a good team. No reason to say they SUCK, which they don’t. Really, when you do that you show how little you actually know about CFB.
yup I agree Beast, I am not a fan of Findley, I would rather have had Ching, hold up someone who could kill the game if we were ahead..but we saw how Dempsey did vs Turkey as a striker, he wasnt even in the game, he seemed bored..he needs to be in the midfield with Landon, and if we could get the final 16 awesome!!, I have good faith we can win it all if we play to our potential and everyone does their jobs..I mean we had Brasil on the ropes for 1 half, if we didnt give away 2 cheap goals, we woulda won that game..I totally blew off my ex-girlfriend at the times birthday for that match, ah well.
As well you should. How could you not watch that game after we beat Spain? Torres said after the game that U.S.A. is as good as any team when they play well and together. As long as the D holds up we should be fine. England always finds a way to not show up, and even if we have to play Germany in Rd.2 they have no Ballack and no D.
haha exactly, I didnt care girls come and go…yup we could beat Germany for sure! and Spain is my favorite to win it, my heart favorite USA and if the US goes out Argentina..I don’t want Brasil to win, I hate their cocky attitudes.

I’m going to be most interested in how the back line performs. In 2002, once they got Agoos out of there, the back line was a huge reason why they beat Mexico and why only a superhuman effort by Oliver Kahn kept the US out of the semis.
jeffery d, c’mon, you gotta pull for the little guy. I do understand SEC fans who are uber critical of other schools because, well, why not be? Just not my personal belief. If BSU gets past Va Tech, then they’re probably gonna play in NC game. The preseason poll set it up to happen. If I have to watch Ohio State get pummeled again, then I will be greatly disappointed.
I’d pick Spain if they weren’t the Minnesota Vikings of this competition. I did ESPN’s pick’em for the World Cup, and through some odd results I’m picking the Netherlands to win it all. Spain #1 Netherlands #2 for Best Countries Never to Win a World Cup.
Manbeast – I’d just rather watch USC/Ohio State than Boise State/Wyoming. Plus, I don’t like it when a decent school dominates a puny conference. I know Boise State and Utah in recent years have proved that they can play with the big boys, but teams like Hawaii in 2007 show that sometimes they have no business playing BCS teams
Well, I guess for the next 11 games, unless there are some afternoon games out there, I’m going to be depending on replays for the good things happening in games. N8, what are you thinking saying we should trade JJJ – apart from medlen, the other pitchers we have aren’t proven yet, no GM is going to seriously trade JJJ because we have ‘can’t miss’ alternatives, none of whom are regular major league proven starters.
Oh, well at least you’ve got your wish in todays game, Heyward batting third.

Cabraves, you said in a post that you have a WWII bomber in a lake near you. In SC, where I live, we had one of those in Lake Murray, near Columbia. They raised it and now it’s on display in a museum in Florida!
Jeffrey exactly. Which is why I have said the past couple days anybody who says we should trade JJ because of young minor league guys and Medlen are not paying attention. Medlen is having a year like Jorge Sosa did for his first year with us. Righties are batting over .320 against him.
Has anybody ever been to Lake Norfork in Arkansas? I got a beach house there. Anyways reason I ask is not only is it the prettiest lake in the US but they built it in WW2 and for electrical power and when they did they were in such a hurry that they flooded it before they got the equipment out. You can scuba dive and see bull dozers and trucks and all kind of things down their. Its really neat.

He gets really excited when one of the Braves hits it within twenty feet of the warning track.

They tried to raise the one in our lake, but it was too fragile so they decided to leave it where it was
