This year Gerinke has left the game with the lead 5 times, and only won one.
I think it is getting to him, too. His last few starts haven’t been much to write home about. I wonder how long a player can play on a team like that before it starts to get to them.
I Just finished reading an article at MLB.com about that kid Bryce Harper, he has Scott Boras as an agent. By just reading that piece, man, Scott Boras has really ruined this game. And that kid, what an idiot.. i read in another article earlier this year a quote from him saying ”…my dream would be to be in the hall of fame and play my entire career in pinstripes… ” … wow dude, not even in the majors and already stating the only team you want to play for (Stankees)?
I think it’s the team’s winning of late that has given so many Braves fans patience with Kawakami. They certainty would not put up with his record and ERA in NY or Boston, or maybe even in Atlanta back in the run of division title. I pull hard for the guy every time out because he has a tomahawk on his chest, and I admire his no excuses attitude he portrays with the press, but at the end of the day, this is is a results orriented game. He is not a kid, and he does not make the minimum. The Braves are not paying him for these moral victories and nothing is gained from them. He is not the future, he is only the present, and the present has not looked good for him. Lack of run support is part of the game, and an ERA above 4.50 shows that is not the only problem. I hope he does well tonight, but I also hope Medlen gets his spot in the rotation when JJ comes back. Unlike Kawakimi, he has earned it.
Great article and thanks for the lyrics to what is IMO the late GR8 WARREN Zevon’s best hit and who can remember the oh so PRETTY Linda Ronstadt version.. woo hoo
Glaus coming so hot, funny how talent never goes away especially when one is fit and has adjusted to the pace of the game after 2 years of injuries… he looks like the TROY of old and he is catching those f’balls he was a missing in April.
now if we can get Chipper healthy… well dare I say WS ere we go ere we go ere we go

Yeah Steve. I am done. That bugger was long. I’m exhausted. Trying to muster the energy to do a little celebrating later.

Yeah, Schafer is hitting under the McLouth Line at Gwinnett (with apologies to Mario Mendoza).

But he’s got .018 points on ole Mac at the moment.
Just noticed he doesn’t have any stats for June yet. Wondering if that wrist flared up on him.
