Dare I say Heyward in the 3-spot tonight with Infante hitting second. I might make it through the first 3 innings before I fall asleep. I can’t hang past 11:00 anymore, very sad.
I hate the left coast trips. I used to hang out late and watch those trips back when Murphy and Niekro and Torre were surprising the National League and actually contending. I survived on a couple hours sleep and worked the next day.
Now, I’m old. I just can’t hang that late. I’ll watch a couple of innings then I’m out!
Sucks getting old when your team is on the West coast.
It must be October the way you homers are patting yourselves on the back, I guess I missed June thru September. We will see if this team can overcome Chipper, KK, McOut and their $28 Million annual payroll up a wild hogs arzz. I for one seriously doubt it. It is just a May blip on the radar, you can put lipstick on a pig but …….
T is for TexasI have made a personal decision to view Mac’s poor start with RISP as his way of banking run producing hits for the end of the season–when we are in a race for the postseason.

DOB – have you listened to a band called Peter Wolf Crier? Think they would be up your alley. They sound a bit like M. Ward at times – kind of ragged and understated, but always striking.
When I woke up this morning at 3:30 AM. the only thing I could think about was…..I CAN’T get up now or I’ll NEVER stay awake for the Braves game tonight! Luckily, after tossing and turning for about an hour, I fell back asleep until almost *:00 AM, so……have HOPES of making it!
Movie link to braves-dodgers identical records… My Cousin Vinny… the attorney says IIIIIII-dent-ical and holds his hands up parallel to each other for ephasis when asking the expert witness about the tire tracks on the road coming from the same car as the two kids were driving… that came to mind this afternoon after reading your Tweet on the teams records.. pretty cool and good, funny movie, especially the TV version where they cut out all the cussing (which I found seriously distracting and detracting.)
I grew up out west and I must say if you are a Sports fan that is the place to live. Baseball games can start as early as 10 am and last until 11pm some days. During football season games start at 10 am and we could watch the super bowl and still go to bed at a reasonable time. Everytime my Braves go out west or the NBA season starts (clipper Fan) I get that longing to move home. (then I recall that my friends pay the same for their studio apts that I pay for my 4 bedroom home)
Kershaw is 4-1 with a 1.08 ERA and .174 opponents’ average in his past five starts, and struck out 10 in seven shutout innings (two hits, one walk) in his only start against the Braves on Aug. 8, 2009.
I love west coast games now. I get to watch them from start to finish after work. When the Braves are in the east, I usually only get the last few innings.

Just sitting here on my computer at the office while hubby is finishing one of his “projects” and waiting to go home to WAIT for the game to start tonight. I really HATE West coast games.
DOB, I used to live in Memphis, and I assume you’ve made your way through town and tried some of the world famous BBQ. If so, which is your favorite, Barbeque Shop, Rendezvous, Corky’s? Maybe one I didn’t mention. Have you ever eaten at Gus’s Fried Chicken Shack? I always have a tough time deciding which to go to when I’m back in town. I love the ribs at Rendezvous and BBQ Shop, but nothing beats a Corky’s sammy with slaw. Your thoughts…
Infante batting in front of Heyward is interesting…could get him some pitches. Hope Chipper gets back soon…he’s getting there…wherever there is going to end up being. My guess….270/17HR/90 RBI.

Anyway, my point to all this self-pity is: the Braves are all I have left. Win the whole thing, you bastards!
it appears the Pac-10, which has its meetings in San Francisco starting this weekend, is prepared to make a bold move and invite Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Colorado to join its league, according to multiple sources close to the situation
I hope the Braves win something to the tune of 11-9 tonight. (I have so many players from this game on my fantasy team; McCann and Glaus for the Braves, Furcal, Kemp, and Carroll for the Dodgers.)

I’m in the FL Panhandle, work at a seafood restaurant, and if I thought a nuke would keep the oil from us, welllllll……..I MIGHT consider it……BUT…….gotta wonder about what THAT would do to all those oysters, shrimp, etc., ya know??????
CAB – it’s going to end at 1:00 AM here! And I wouldn’t be too upset about having to watch games at 4….with my early grandpa bedtime most nights, I miss the ends of a lot of games.
Just Pat…I here you. I am planning to bring the family down to PC Beach in a few weeks. It is so tough to watch that oil just billowing out like that…I just can’t believe it has taken this long. I have no idea what effect a nuke would have…but I seriously did hear this dude on TV talking about how the Russians have used nukes to fix some similiar leaks off their shore…that the nuke melts enough of the earth that it seals the well.
Of course, this would also probably turn some fish into Godzilla, and then a couple of our pitchers would freak out.
Anyways, let’s hope they make some progress with this latest containment dome.
Can someone explain to me why the old fogies say that instant replay would take away the human element of the game? I never got that….if robots replaced the players and the strike zone was replaced with some sort of system of lasers, then the human element would be lost. But instant replay?
Ray K., don’t feel bad about leaving the City of Angles. I spent 14 years there trying to make it in the industry. Didn’t get where I wanted to go, but met my wife, had my daughter, and made a lateral move into a related industry where I can use all the skills I learned in film school and working for peanuts. Now I make a great living in a great city and have a pretty great existence. There is life after LA, my friend.
Amoeba Music is the bomb. I went to one when I was visiting San Fran and ended up leaving with 8 great jazz records and an excellent Vida Blue dvd. I was blown away by the store’s stock. Usually you see the standard, generic stuff in music stores these days, but Amoeba Music has it goin’ on. I have to agree with Vice Roy on In N Out Burger as well.
Yeah I feel bad for that pitcher for the Tigers (and the umpire)…I think baseball should introduce a rule where, once, during a series of any length, a manager can toss a red flag out of the dugout for a replay review on plays like that…
DcBrave…….not sure what you mean about a “few weeks”, but have my fingers crossed for you and your famiy. Our restaurant owns two shrimp boats and their last trips were very profitable for them but we’re all looking at the prospect of that changing and all of us losing our jobs. It AIN’T pretty down here right now even though, so far…..there’s no oil on our beaches at all.
And I’m mad that we miss Kenshin. And that’s not being mean being a Twins fan and saying “KK pitching = instant shutout win for our pitcher”, but I *was* (and still am) planning to wear my KK shirt under my Twins jersey.

Yeah, I wouldn’t be too happy about a 4pm start on weekdays either. I’d be DVRing every game.

Kawakami could be getting Rodrigo López against Arizona and then James Shields against the Rays.
*Price, Wade Davis, and then Shields looks to be the Tampa starters against the Braves. Hanson vs. Price could be the game 1 matchup

(But I’ll always be an Atlanta boy at heart.

Liriano – Hudson

LOL, you guys miss Moon Shot Scott (Baker).
And I’m mad that we miss Kenshin. And that’s not being mean being a Twins fan and saying “KK pitching = instant shutout win for our pitcher”, but I *was* (and still am) planning to wear my KK shirt under my Twins jersey.
