More worried about Saito/Moylan than a win on June 3.
That bridge to Wagner has been one of THE keys to this season so far. Someone’s going to have to step into that role if Saito is injured and Moylan keeps pitching like this.
Man, I sound like MFin. Sorry to be Debbie Downer.

A win is a win and the ninth in a row, but Billy Wager has appeared in twenty-two games half of which have been non-save situations. Is Cox mismanaging his bullpen again?

Exactly 33.33% ( that’s 1/3 for you GT grads…) through the season now…and on pace now for 96 wins! Who would have thunk that 30 days ago???

Been on a great run…how long can we keep it going?

I say…till the Braves sweep the world series!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

VENEZUELA

I’m worried about our bullpen for tomorrow!! I sure hope chinese guy Kawacrappy throws a complete game shuout tomorrow!!! Im really praying that Saito is fine…he has been so steady for us…but those quad injuries usually are serious!!!! hope its not a hamstring… :(

chilidog75

June 4th, 2010
1:14 am

Brave4life, I’m with ya.
Moylan has been so good for so long – except for a few bad outings at the beginning of last year – that you come to expect him to get guys out. So when gives up 9 hits in 20 at-bats – with most of those coming to righties — it’s alarming.
As for Saito, that would be great if its just cramps. But I can’t imagine he’d take himself out of a game like that because of cramps. We’ll see, I guess.

Metallica man

June 4th, 2010

My dubious comments aside, our Braves are now the hottest team in baseball having won twenty of their last twenty-five games.

Lee

June 4th, 2010

I really have a good feeling now, about our chances to make the playoffs! Lets keep winning. 10 in a row tomorrow!

Tomas

June 4th, 2010

If the Braves lose Saito, it would be devastating. I hope it’s just a cramp and not a hammy problem.

uga-brave

June 4th, 2010
1:16 am

moylan, is suffering from foster’s disease. seen our mates face?

cs95

June 4th, 2010

if it was cramps, it was in the back of his left leg.. probably makes it hard to pitch with a “charlie horse” in your leg.

chilidog75

June 4th, 2010
1:17 am

Metallica … and the bullpen has been A HUGE reason for that stretch — so I dont know if we can say Bobby’s mismanaging anything right now. Seems to be making a lot of good moves so far, especially considering this starting staff hasn’t exaclty been Hallidaying a bunch of complete games this year.

Troy Glaus

June 4th, 2010

If the Braves lose Saito, it would be devastating. I hope it’s just a cramp and not a hammy problem. ,

If they do Venters should take over his role.

Foster’s disease is a very bad fate. I have suffered from the American equivalent, and hope that no Brave suffers from it.

IlliniBrave

Moylan needs to watch this kid from Newnan Ga on the Lady Dawgs to see how to pitch submariner – she is blowing away the Huskies!

Lee

June 4th, 2010
1:19 am

Saito’s gonna be fine. Just a cramp, you’ll see!

Firearm

June 4th, 2010
1:19 am

So… we can count on Kershaw throwing a complete-game shutout tomorrow? :P

Metallica man

June 4th, 2010
1:20 am

I agree, the bullpen has been fantastic. I’m just worried that they might run out of gas come August and September. But yes, Cox seems to be pushing the right buttons at the moment.

Lee

June 4th, 2010
1:21 am

Why do you call him Kershaw?

Mixxo

chilidog75

Metallica … By that time, the Braves will have a 14-game lead and have clinched the division. So wagner will have plenty of time to rest up for October. :)

IlliniBrave

Actually, the Lawrie girl that GA faced, supposedly the best pitcher in NCAA, did not strike out one GA batter. Kind of shocking.

Mitchell

June 4th, 2010
1:27 am

What I was going to say way back when, right about the time I started getting flashbacks of last year and almost jinxed us, is that if we can just hold on and win tonight and keep the momentum, there would be little reason to think the streak is coming to an end anytime soon.

But you never know do you?

I definitely started to get that feeling like we couldn’t deliver that knock-out shot. Now the question is can we finally score some runs for KK? Either way, if he can find a way to pitch like he did last time you have to like our chances.

Maybe they were a little jet-lagged. You never know. You never know, but if we can keep it going tomorrow, then Hanson, Hudson and then… the D-Backs.

chilidog75

June 4th, 2010

I like Kawakami against Kershaw. Dragon killer.

Let’s hope Saito will be OK. If not, this will be Resop’s shot.

Metallica man

June 4th, 2010

By the way, Kris Medlen has an ERA of 3.20 in his four starts. While averaging just over six innings per game. Not bad work from a fifth starter, not bad at all.

IlliniBrave

My mistake – turns out she had 5Ks after all. But that is I guess about less than half of her normal per game. Our gals were putting good wood on the ball. Our pitchers struck out 10.

Tomas

June 4th, 2010

In Moylan’s defense, he just gave up one hit, and then Heyward made an errant throw. Heyward has made 4 errors already, his defense has not been too good, he hasn’t had an assist.
