Brave4life … I would image Resop has to get called up now. Heck, Saito those were two great pitches with a bum leg. Maybe that helps ya! Stay in there!
Its just stupid….that guy Martinez is wasting a roster spot!!!! Bobby never uses him!! NEVER not even in blow outs!!! We could have another pitcher like Resop or Ortegano or even Kimbrel…
I say to you Wren, bring up Kimbrel for Chavez! and bring Resop for no-use Martinez!!! REALLY !
More worried about Saito/Moylan than a win on June 3.
That bridge to Wagner has been one of THE keys to this season so far. Someone’s going to have to step into that role if Saito is injured and Moylan keeps pitching like this.
Man, I sound like MFin. Sorry to be Debbie Downer.
A win is a win and the ninth in a row, but Billy Wager has appeared in twenty-two games half of which have been non-save situations. Is Cox mismanaging his bullpen again?
I’m worried about our bullpen for tomorrow!! I sure hope chinese guy Kawacrappy throws a complete game shuout tomorrow!!! Im really praying that Saito is fine…he has been so steady for us…but those quad injuries usually are serious!!!! hope its not a hamstring…
Brave4life, I’m with ya.
Moylan has been so good for so long – except for a few bad outings at the beginning of last year – that you come to expect him to get guys out. So when gives up 9 hits in 20 at-bats – with most of those coming to righties — it’s alarming.
As for Saito, that would be great if its just cramps. But I can’t imagine he’d take himself out of a game like that because of cramps. We’ll see, I guess.
Metallica … and the bullpen has been A HUGE reason for that stretch — so I dont know if we can say Bobby’s mismanaging anything right now. Seems to be making a lot of good moves so far, especially considering this starting staff hasn’t exaclty been Hallidaying a bunch of complete games this year.
I agree, the bullpen has been fantastic. I’m just worried that they might run out of gas come August and September. But yes, Cox seems to be pushing the right buttons at the moment.
Metallica … By that time, the Braves will have a 14-game lead and have clinched the division. So wagner will have plenty of time to rest up for October.
What I was going to say way back when, right about the time I started getting flashbacks of last year and almost jinxed us, is that if we can just hold on and win tonight and keep the momentum, there would be little reason to think the streak is coming to an end anytime soon.
But you never know do you?
I definitely started to get that feeling like we couldn’t deliver that knock-out shot. Now the question is can we finally score some runs for KK? Either way, if he can find a way to pitch like he did last time you have to like our chances.
Maybe they were a little jet-lagged. You never know. You never know, but if we can keep it going tomorrow, then Hanson, Hudson and then… the D-Backs.
By the way, Kris Medlen has an ERA of 3.20 in his four starts. While averaging just over six innings per game. Not bad work from a fifth starter, not bad at all.
My mistake – turns out she had 5Ks after all. But that is I guess about less than half of her normal per game. Our gals were putting good wood on the ball. Our pitchers struck out 10.
In Moylan’s defense, he just gave up one hit, and then Heyward made an errant throw. Heyward has made 4 errors already, his defense has not been too good, he hasn’t had an assist.
