All you folks talking about Mac at home plate. I think there wasnt enough time to check the runner and position himself. Was a lucky bounce and a snap throw from Moylan. Mac barely caught it and dove back towards the plate. Thought he did a decent job, Dewitt was better that’s all.
Uh, folks, watch the freakin replay. Yes, McCann ran up the line for the ORIGINAL throw from Heyward. Then, he ran back to the plate to get the throw from Moylan, which was pretty much righ on target. Sure, he had to set up quickly…but if you aren’t aware enough of the plate and the runner to set up in the right spot, that’s on YOU as the catcher. And don’t try to tell me that this is the ONLY time McCann has set up off to the side and tried a swipe tag, a dive back, etc. That’s his MO.
Again, though I’m defnitely not a fan of softball, Dawgs fans oughta turn to ESPN2 to see if the Lady Dawgs can pull the upset over the heavily-favored Washington Huskies.
Heyward’s got to make amends for that error with a long ball…preferably after Prado & Infante get on base.
Moylan seems to be nibbling a lot and working behind in the count. Of course, his arm could be a little fatigued and that could be causing him to not be sharp. Hard to say.
I wouldnt mind just 1 run.
Colin, I thought I had seen that posting much earlier in this blog. But I haven’t heard it since. I was asking for confirmation.
NO MORE BOBBY
Even the announcers like the emotion after that strikeout. I’ve been begging for that past three years. Love it!!
JC, this game is making everyone nervous, lol.
I Wear No Pants

Ah, thanks for pointing that out DOB, that’s huge for my fantasy team
if this game ends how I would like it to, a ugly win is still a win in my book.
A little insurance couldnt hurt…
DOB, I don’t know how you do it. Sitting up there in the press box and having to act like you don’t care.
I mean, I know you’re a pro but that would be tough for me.
Not that you don’t care. I mean, remain impartial. But you knew that, cause you’re a pro.
I just said that.
Come on Martin.
Martin needs to get it done.
by july when moylans lights out again….will you say he should not be the ninth inning guy? we go through this eveyr year on the blog with moylan……and when its all said and done his overall work is good.
And Brian McCann sure knows how to give up runs at home plate.
You are totally right!!!!!!!!!!!! What the heck is going on with BMAC he is playing everything wrong…no offense-defense.. WTFFF
A run here would be big.
chilidog75 – you get as nervous as anyone on here too Wagner can’t be perfect every night. And hitters going 1 for 20 can’t last forever. I’d simply like some insurance runs.
June 4th, 201012:46 am
er seventh inning guy.
might he run EOF back out there?
Win or lose this game, I love this team.
BamaDude @ CowCollege AL
lead-off BB for Marteen …that works !
Way to be, Martin. Get this down Omar.
Leadoff walks are usually trouble!
great start..yeah Mitchell, idk I thought I saw it, but I hope he is.
Come on Omar you SOB.
Great, another bad bunt attempt.
Oh, two in a row. Wonderful.
June 4th, 201012:47 am
Is there a website that has % of inherited runners that score for relievers? I bet Moylan is near the top. His ERA is great but that’s just because he lets all the inherited runners score and count against somebody else.
Nobody seems to say much about Eric, but the dude’s been solid for a year and a half.
I wish this team could bunt better. Kawakami’s good, but that’s about it. Even McLouth couldn’t bunt tonight.
JC from DR!
Good job Infante!
As much as I like Infante, that was a huge choke. Come on, man — you’re in the NL.
GD Infante, do your job.
Omar’s been very good this year. But this has been a horse-blank last 20 minutes for him. Geez.
Ouch, that hurts
June 4th, 201012:48 am
We still can’t bunt.
Let’s see………it’s after midnight, all the children should be off the blog by now……….
Was that play at home a baseball hand job?
Brave4life- 1995 all over again
Need McCann to get a clutch base hit
Wayne… these guys are morons! Correcting them does no good. It really was a pretty cool play that just didn’t go our way. Great effort by BMac.
What’s happened to Jason?
Rob from SC
Heyward: Stop trying to pull the low and away pitch
Heyward looks like he’s trying to do too much tonight…
NMB what are you talking about, you’ve been asking about that for the last three years? Do you not recall Mike Gonzalez celebrating like it was cinco de mayo every time he got a K, even if he’d just given up 3 runs?
McCann at the plate, inning over.
Heyward hasn’t been hitting much lately. Maybe Mac can come through with an rbi double.
Heyward is old! He needs to retire! We dont need heyward!!!!!!!!!!
June 4th, 201012:49 am
Just a little slumpy slump, Meeeeeexo.
Bunting practice needed badly. This is where that turd Glavine can earn his keep. The guy was a supreme bunter. Needs to work with Infante and McLouth and Melky – all having problems lately.
He’s in a slump.
Go yard here fat mac!
I might be the second-biggest McCann fan on this blog, but we all know how this AB is going to end.
MEB, explain to me exactly what was so great about BMac’s “effort” on that play. I guess he should have just given up after the bad throw and walked over to the Braves’ dugout?
here comes .250 BMAC // shooting for .240!!!!!
June 4th, 201012:50 am
Fortunately, Heyward only slumps for a few games.
I have a headache, this last inning has killed me.
come on walk!!
Anything Mike Gonzalez did does not count.
What’s happened to Bmac?
Omar, you’re killin’ me.
And for all the sensitive people out there, I realize he got the game winning hit yesterday. He’s great, I love the guy.
But come on, he’s screwin’ up a little bit. Just temporary frustration. Don’t throw it back at me like I want him off the team.
I feel like I need to clear these things up these days.
June 4th, 201012:51 am
Bring on the haters.
Steve from OH
Allright Saito let’s do this!
I’m officially tired of McCann.
Suuuuprrrriiiiissseeeeee. A pop up.
McCann has been struggling mightily lately. Let’s go Takashi!!
One thing that Mac has been good at is his bat slam into the ground. He really has perfected that!
Here we go… I’m like 50/50 confident.
Hope Saito is on his A-game.
yeeep, pretty easy decision when choosing to either pitch to Mac or Troy … until Mac can start hitting more, always pitch to him
well here we go..the bottom of 9.
I can’t watch.
macc, cant see anymore. it is painfully obvious. catching a ball and trying to pick up the spin on a ball while hitting is different.
Show your old club what theyre missing, saito.
Saito needs to hold em.
We need Ross as the everyday catcher. More offense and better defense.
Thank you very much FAT MAC
Alright Saito. No mercy. At least he doesn’t have to face Kemp and Ethier. Manny’s a bum.
June 4th, 201012:52 am
Alright Saito to face Manny,Loney and Martin.
Let’s 1-2-3 this shiz and catch some zzZzz’s.
why am i so nervous
What was that? Lead-off guy gets on and we can’t get him around?
Come on Braves.
Three more Billy. The Dodgers don’t deserve to win this damn game.
woah, what Saito and not Wags????? ugh.
Where the hell do you wanna-be fans come from???
Who feels good about this pitching decision?
Mitchell – read the last comment from the previous page.
Sarcastic comment about Mac that causes someone to kick me in the head…
June 4th, 201012:53 am
David Ross deserves more playing time. Can’t hit much worse than McCann.
Wags has worked 6 of the past 9 games.
I’m willing to give BMAC the benefit of the doubt on that play. He’s sprawled on the ground trying to tag body parts he can’t see before they get by him. It was an EXCEPTIONAL tag by the runner. Anybody remember a play by Greg Maddux a few years ago where a catcher had him dead to rights and Maddux basically jumps over him and scores? Wish I could remember more details.
June 4th, 2010
I’ve been nervous since the 6th inning.
I’m a tad uneasy here.
before all you blow out macc, i dont think he can see.
think about it, would you?
B-Mac has been a lot better than this. I hope he can get out of his funk soon.
braves4life……..thinking the same thing
June 4th, 201012:54 am
Lol NMB great way to back up your argument. NuMBskull.
I feel good about this decision….
I’m calling McCann FAT MAC until he hits .300 again!!!! This month-long slump is getting boring!!!
Wags should have worked 7 of the last 10 after tonight..I have faith in Saito, just more in Wags.
Forgot my e’s dang it
