I’m sure he’s bearing down as hard as he does for any other start, Lee, but the mental aspect of playing in front of your hometown with lots of old friends/family in attendance isn’t something players can replicate elsewhere. I do think it gives them an edge, have seen it too many times. Decided when I saw Jo Jo pitch his ass off in a game in SoCal last year? year before? that there must really be something to it.
like we were saying
medlen > nate
manny is funny
Kris bailed out Nate the Idiot
who is winning
HA ha HA ha!! Nice job dropping that ball out there, Manny!!
well Meds help yourself cause Nate doesnt want too.
Manny being Manny….
Steve from OH
Jerald–if McLouth’s AB was a fail, what do we call that…thing from Manny?
What a picture-perfect fielding display – way to go, Meds!
eric the elder
snotboogie, you are getting very close to a hot button for Trey. I strongly urge you and everyone else to drop this subject. No offense, Trey, but you will surely admit that you do have strong views about this.
Oh, boy that sucked.
But that doesn’t.
Medlen can rake. Manny, you are a freaking joke. But thanks.
BamaDude @ CowCollege AL
the Man Ram Strikes !!…HAHAHA
JC from DR!
Why was Nate bunting for Christ’s Sake?!!
Meds!! …And thank you Manny!
Med is looking more and more like maddog. He out pitched Hanson in the minors, he is for real. This team is locked in, gonna miss bobby.
Geez, what else can’t McLouth do? Thanks to Meds and the Dreadlocked One for run #4.
LOL @ Manny
June 3rd, 201011:44 pm
No worry McLouth, Medlin picked you up.
two extremely LARGE runs out there right now
awesome job MEDS!!! Nate take a lesson..come on Marteen break it open!
Brave4life- 1995 all over again
that was outside
Seriously…our pitchers hit better than some of our everyday players these days. What is with that?
Come on Martin.
I told yall that Manny couldn’t play w/out his dope!
Brian McCann is fat and terrible. When will Glaus bat cleanup consistently ahead of him.
June 3rd, 201011:45 pm
Er, I meant Kurdt. Sorry. Still, Manny is a clown out there.
well darn!..ok with 1.
eric, I am very opinionated, but no offense taken. I wasn’t going to get angry, no sense in it. However, I wasn’t answering his question because I am kind of slow and I’d have to read his question a few times and try to understand what he asking.
eric the elder
Is there one that isnt?
Manny being Manny.
Your timing is on tonight DOB.
McFann :Ô: :Ô:
Colin the 2nd half is really when he needs to kick it in, were doing just fine right now
Yeah…as whole, I s’pose. But I’d sure love it if he was in on the offense just a little more!
I left a post to you on the next-to-the-last page of “Braves going for sweep…”.
Medlen has a walk, an RBI double (ahem) and five scoreless innings so far. Not a bad night for the kid from Artesia, just down the freeway
Medlin got a DOUBLE on that play? Really? I can see single and error. I can’t see double in that play.
I think Manny wins a race with Loaf. Loaf would’ve given up on that ball long before Manny did.
June 3rd, 201011:46 pm
For example, if we hold on to win tonight, the Dodgers would lose their 8th game in 10 against NL East clubs.
In my opinion the east is the best in both leagues and if I had to rank them the al east would be the tougest division followed by the nl east.

A gift from Heaven?
1-2-3 Meds, I wouldnt mind a nice quick last 3+ innings and get to bed at a decent time
I have to say, I’m always a little bit shocked when Martin doesn’t get a hit.
eric- I mean I know he was asking where in baseball was racism is allowed, which I never said it was allowed, but it should not be talked about but it should in no way, be censored, but ignored by those that do not want to deal with racism.
That was first double and RBI of Medlen’s career. He’d like to thank Manny for being Manny.
June 3rd, 201011:47 pm
MEDLEN WITH AN RBI DOUBLE??? DANGIT! I went upstairs one inning too soon!!
playing some jimmy hendrix.
Can’t believe we only scored one run there. Three or four more would be nice.
snotboogieee are you trying to get a pointless debate going?
but the AL East has a awful team, the Orioles…I mean thats automatic 3 wins..the NL East has no automatic wins..even the Nationals will be a tough sweep or even 1/3 with Strasburg..the NL East is by far the most competitive division in baseball.
June 3rd, 201011:48 pm
Medlen or Kawakami to pen when JJ gets back????
Coulda been an error, eh? Well, those scorers owe us a few doubles…
At least Nate doesn’t roll around on the outfield ground.
How does that dude not drive dodger fans crazy. He makes Yunel look like Teddy Baseball.
Have we seen an abundance of freezecam @1st tonight or am I thinking about the Detroit farce last night–camera guy is trending?
THEEEEEEE Braves win – Can you please not be so racist? I am just asking, man. You can be whatever you want, I just don’t feel like seeing arguing back and forth.
Here comes GA!
LOAF SIGHTING! Soph!
June 3rd, 201011:49 pm
I know it won’t happen (b/c Cox seems to have a real aversion to letting any of his pitchers throw more than 110 pitches in a game) but I seriously hope he let’s Medlen finish this game … unless he encounters real trouble, that is
Too bad the ball got part of Manny’s glove…Medlen would’ve had his first round-tripper…
NL East is the deepest division. AL East is probably the toughest, cause they have probably the two best teams in baseball, and a couple of other good ones.
Just clarifying your point. But I’ll drop it.
theie is no way that can be a double, that should be a single and an error on Manny, But still congrats to Medlen
Kurdt Kobaieeeeen, they also have the Orioles.
June 3rd, 201011:50 pm
Loaf! Where’s the blackberry dude?
I dont think Meds will go 9..72 pitches already and still 11 outs to go.
Bye Loaf! xoxo
Garrett Anderson getting out, that is a familiar site.
Snotboogieee, nah you are fine. What was your question and I will try and answer.
I’m surprised GA wasn’t starting. Seems like these guys always hit their well against their former team.
And now I wish he had been starting.
One more Kris.
June 3rd, 201011:51 pm
solid 9 innings would be nice
the blackberry dude is on her little netbook and its too much trouble to change my screen name and all that for one pinch hit lol
People, just ignore the racist guy. please.
Medlen’s going back to the pen when JJ gets back.
Are those pot plants growing in the Dodgers’ bullpen?
Cy Medlen, bitches.
The Dodgers had an extra innings game there last two. I think thats right. Hopefully, that won’t happen tonight!
Meds is just in a zone on that rubber. I love it.
Kurdt Kobaieeeen, maybe KK can go to the pen instead. KK has gotten better but Medlen has shown he has earned starter.
June 3rd, 201011:52 pm
Vin on the 3rd out – “That’s that changeup, and it sounded like he hit it with the morning paper”
Vinny on the last out of the 6th…
That was the change up…and it sounded like he hit it with the morning paper.
Alright, for real though. Let’s get some runs.
T for Texas
Vin Scully on furcals weak ground-out:
“It sounded like he hit it with the morning paper.”
Medlen had better stats than Hanson when he came up last year.
I know it won’t happen but I drool to see this:
Could be lights out every night
June 3rd, 201011:53 pm
2-3-4..sounds likes runs runs runs to me.
Cox wont over extend Medlin with JJ on the DL….he goes 7 maybe eight before the hook.
N Nineeeeee you ain’t lyin’. It would be so much better with KK
KK has benn amazing the past few starts, why no love for him???
June 3rd, 201011:54 pm
Jeff Weaver…is he the guy that pitched for the Cardinals in ‘06, or was that Jarred?
That Vin Scully seems to be one entertaining dude. How does he come up with one-liners like that? I now wish I could listen to his commentary.
re: my last post … Cox already said Wags is doubtful and Saito’s status wasn’t much better … but, I’m telling you, if Medlen is anywhere near 110 pitches in the 8th or 9th and he hasn’t gotten himself into any real trouble, Cox will pull him
Medlen vs KK in the rotation — about the same either way (though Meds is making a case for himself tonight).
Medlen vs KK in the bullpen — much better with Medlen in the pen. Medlen is a very versatile and effective reliever.
Does he get credit for an appearance?
What a bitch.
Wonder how many folks Medlen has in the seats tonight?
Latenight Bail Bond Guy
is watching the dodgers mlb feed and listening to Vin Scully. It’s like watching the game with your Grandpa.
Medlen is far, far more valuable in the bullpen than KK is.
Brave4life, I am just starting to like KK a little more, but Medlen has been better, also he is younger let him start and get more victories. KK is already older so he won’t get to have a chance at 300 possible victories. If Medlen is a starter for 20 years, he can do a lot of amazing things.
