I don’t know why you’d do it at all, but now you can’t.

Avg .313 HR 6 RBI 14 Runs 29 SB 12 Andrew McCutchen #22 Center Field Pittsburgh Pirates

Wouldn’t mind adding this guy to the lineup….ideal leadoff hitter and great defense in centerfield.

Thats what I’ve been say’n Alabama – Hope Wren was paying attention this past week, because this kid seems like a perfect fit for us. The pirates should be ready to deal soon and this guy should be at the top of our list. Its no secret that we don’t have much money, so this kinda trade makes perfect since for us. Something similar to the Mclouth deal last year would work great. We have a good farm system and allot of really good looking pitchers, which is normally what the pirates like. Hopefully Wren is already working on this.

What are you going to do with McLouth and his salary.

And the reason the Pirates DEALT McLouth was to make room for McCutchen. Why the hell are you thinking that he’d be available?

Why do you think the Braves got McLouth? Because the Pirates had McCutchen in the wings.
The Braves have a potentially much better player in Gwinnett right now who is just getting back into shape. What short memories Braves fans have.
Look for Jordan to up in July if not sooner.

You people clearly don’t understand the business of baseball they aren’t going to trade him he is the centerpiece of their franchise and is under team control for 5 more years. Thatd be like us falling out of the race and saying tommy hanson is now available young cost controlled players don’t hardly ever get dealt by smaller market teams.

chazs, i don’t think the Braves are going to rush Schafer up here in July or sooner. just my feeling. given all the time he missed with his suspension and the wrist injury. He’s played only 23 games in the minors so far, including 10 on a rehab in Rome and Mississippi. He’s hitting .193 (11-for-57) in 13 games for Gwinnett.

It is crazy to think I would trade away a player that is producing for our team. I only traded away:

Jason Bay
Xavier Nady
Freddy Sanchez
Adam LaRoche
Nate McLouth
Nyjer Morgan
Jack Wilson
etc.
etc.
