Might as well forgive me too.
I get really bent out of shape when things go south. I dunno, I’m used to winning. I know how winning feels, it feels good.
Mitchell, you complain a lot..
Steve from OH
I mean, what was I thinking when I repeatedly said during the last week of Spring Training that the Braves were better than the Phillies and that I believed they could win the division and that every dumbass baseball pundit was wrong not to pick them to do so?
Yeah, that happens every year with every negative blogger. And then as soon as one little thing goes wrong everyone starts pissing and moaning like entitled rich chicks.

Ryan Howard is 6-for-27 (.222) against the Braves this season, with two RBIs
Is Hinkse OK? Why is Greg White in?
100 for Hanson, this inning will be his last.
Wow. I’m seeing some unfavorable comments about our centerfielder Nate McLouth.
Why would anybody be critical about somebody hitting under .200?
Some people. I’ll never understand it.
Mitchell, biggest game since 2005??? are you serious??? drama much?
Roy, I could see that happening a lot more easily than him benched, but I’d doubt it before Diaz and/or Schafer are MLB ready again.

There were thousands of empty grandstand seats at Indy yesterday. In the past, absolutely unheard-of to see even one. 40,000 should be considered a great crowd in the present economic climate. 40,000 might very well be the new sellout. I do think we’ll have some actual sellouts if we hang around first place as the season wears on. May be September before we see it with any regularity.
I think Mitchie gets a little over-dramatic about everything, steve.
14 sent down by tommy. good work

Groundfog, a fan wants what is best for the team and the players. You may disagree, but in my very humble opinion, moving him out of the bright lights and up the road to Gwinnett and letting him try to get things figured out is better for all involved. Its certainly better for him, and it appears better for the Braves.
I, and I think many others, like him, and want him to succeed. I just dont know what is going to be the trigger if he keeps trotting out there every day. I am sure he would be hurt by being sent down, which I why I think he should spend two or three weeks there. Long enough to get over it and try to get back to playing his game.
BamaDude @ CowCollege AL
smoke for strike 2
I’m going to guess that by the end of this season there are only one or two infields better than the Braves’. If only Heyward fit in there somewhere…

Defensive purposes I’m sure.

Safe to say Hanson is settled in.
Just got on baseball-reference.com and found that the Braves have stopped what screwed them over in so many games against the Phils last year…Ryan Howard. He has gone 1-5 in numerous games, 0-3 in few…best game to date is a 2-4 game with an RBI. But they have really kept him under wraps this year
Steve from Ohio, yes he does, but he wants forgiveness…
and that’ll be iit for Hanson. Moylan coming in. a very nice hand for him and ovation
Dangit, Blanco! Shouldve left in Hinske!!
too sweet for that next one …damn
Groundfog, thanks for the response, and sorry, I was typing my longer one before I saw you respond. Again, I want whats best for him and the Braves. I dont see any good coming of him sitting on the bench. He needs to play, but clearly he also needs some confidence.
tommy is done. good game man!!!
thats no good..1 more Thomas.
It will be interesting to see how Philly reacts to dropping out of first place and playing so badly. Will they get fired up and shake off this funk? Or, will they cry like whiney little b–ches and lose even more?
Meanwhile, terrible play in LF by the “defensive replacement.”
And of course in comes Moylan.
Hanson threw 109 pitches.
Great game today Tommy! Very well pitched

Fantastic job by Tommy once he settled in! Standing O deserved!!
Way to stick it out, Tommy!
Moylan has a new record of 162 games in one season!

Really glad we got KK outta the way in the Pirates series. I’m sorry to say but I don’t have much confidence when he is pitching. I’d say he’s the odd man out when JJ comes back
Moylan is a work horse.
Wow, did Hanson ever hang tough today.
Great job by Tommy today. Really battled out there.
Roy Hobbs – I agree with you 100% about Mclouth.
May 31st, 20103:11 pm
abwright — My guess is the Phils go off to whine in some corner somewhere…and lose another 15-20 games.
Nice job today Tommy. With some help by the defense he worked out of the first two innings. Dude knows how to pitch with a big lead, many young pitchers just don’t.
Tommy & Tim clowning on the pine. Tommy’s ecstatic over his two hits.
lol @ that sign from the Phillies fan.
Just curious as I look for tickets, but are lots of people trying to make it to our last series of the season in Atlanta verse the Phillies? It’s October 1,2, and 3rd. Hopefully not, but maybe Bobby’s last game. Atleast his last regular season game. And that may be an important series.
May 31st, 20103:12 pm
Is there any way to send McLouth down to Extended Spring Training, or High School? He wouldn’t make our high school team, so he ain’t coming here!
Tommy did what he had to do today, battled without his best stuff, the mark of a tough pitcher..
Sopheee, what did the sign say?
Jeez Pete. Strike him out or something.
I agree it may be necessay. This is way more than just a slump. It’s mental, physical, everything. He seems to be getting worse. The bunt attempt last night was just a sign.
Like i’ve said before, I loved the trade last year but something has gone seriously wrong. It’s sad to see a guy completely lose it.
Great day for Tommy, love to see him settle down like that.
For those still hoping for Schafer, thus far he looks like McClouth at Gwinnett. He is only 13 games in there, but probably best to not rush him. He is having a rough start and needs some time to get on his feet.
May 31st, 20103:13 pm
Hey Phillies, it’s my birthday – pleaseeeee start hitting today.
Sopheeee — Which sign are talking about?
Bartholomeeeew (Bat) Masterson
lol @ that sign from the Phillies fan.
My radio did not show it, a little help.
Ah ha~! Thanks!
well it won’t be another Phillies shutout
Peter…..Peter…..Peter *shakes fist*
Thaks Soph. lol
May 31st, 20103:14 pm
damn that was on the line …geeez !
Damn, you don’t want to give them any hope at all in this game.
Come on Pete!!!!
It’s alright Carroll, at least we are still up.
come on Moylan.
the sign said: PHILLIES, it’s my birthday, please start HITTING
Geez, Moylan! Giving up runs that Tommy worked so hard to keep from scoring.
Come on Chipper…
May 31st, 20103:15 pm
Saito and Wagner have worked a lot lately … I hope the Braves can avoid using them … but I’m afraid not. Moylan isn’t getting it done.
not another one UGH !
Ok, maybe I shouldn’t have laughed at the sign. My bad.
shoulda let hanson finish the inning
I think Tommy could have ended this inning with it 6-0.
get him out of there.
What the heck is the Aussie doing today? This isn’t normal
Here’s what I think is going to happen with the outfield.
If Schafer is ready while Diaz is on the DL, he’ll get the call and Blanco will go down. If Schafer plays good defense and hits, Braves will probably try to trade Melky.
If Schafer proves that he is not a major league player, then he’ll go back down and the Braves will make do with what they’ve got.
May 31st, 20103:16 pm
How many will Booby let score before giving Moylan the hook?
ok.,…..get the hook for peter
take him out bobby!!!!
Joe Cocker, on acid, could outhit Nate at this point.
Get Moylan OUT of there Booby!!!!!
Genius move Bobby smh.
Meanwhile, uh oh. Moylan doesn’t have it today.
Damn it!!!! 4 freakin’ doubles….REALLY?????
here we go
Take Pete out right now!
Three straight doubles?
3 doubles in a row, get him out of there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank God! Here comes All-Star worthy Jonny Venters!
Not funny guys, lets go.
Remember that 10 – 3 lead we lost to Philly last year?????
Leave to us the let the Phillies out of their slump-geez
May 31st, 20103:17 pm
Well I mean three from Moylan.
Hopefully can still win. It’s WAY to close right now.
JC from DR
WTF? Unn-F*cking-Believable! The frikking nobodys from the phils doing the damage? This has to be a joke!
just blew my fanatsy ERA this week …
If I’ve seen four consecutive doubles in a game, it’s been a while….Moylan just didn’t have it today. and now we have a ballgame.
I wonder if Moylan is trying to cover the spread or something??? good god man, stop hanging pitches.
Venters will come in and we can expect Werth to pinch hit for Gload. Now it will get scary. Maybe Venters can get this out and then pitch a clean 8th with lots of lefties coming up.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
