Mr. Turnip-Green Jeans
NEW MCLOUTH-LINE ALERT!
when i think of McLouth… i wanna cry…
May 31st, 20103:47 pm
I love it!
If ignorance is bliss FEAR you a happy mofo
haha I believe it is so Dee..Its probably in a book somewhere.
Steve from OH
Why don’t we just call anything between .100 and .200 “Nate McLouth territory?”
Venters is gonna strike Howard with gas
May 31st, 20103:48 pm
Greg RN: I don’t think you’re helping your cause.
maybe we ought to get Chippers dad for the hitting coach, he sure did a hell of a job with his son.
There’s another Phil that stood in the box and admired his weak pop out. I’m used to players standing in the box when they hit a foul out. But that ball was in play, and Utley just stood there. Chipper should have let it drop (not really) and thrown Utley out.
May 31st, 20103:49 pm
lol, VJ…that sounds like something I’d say
Venters is nasty
nice there venters!
Hope Ryan Howard keeps his “warning track” power for the entire series
Nice play, Omar.

“After one swing, I’d give Blanco the keys to CF for at least a month. McClouth is that bad right now.” ray k.
I agree with you. The Blanco haters will disagree. But for me it has to do with how BAD McLouth has been, rather than what Blanco can offer.
Very similar to swapping Church for Francoeur last year. Obviously (or maybe not), Jeff has more upside than Church, but he was so damn bad, that simply the addition by subtraction was enough to make a difference.
Simly getting McLouth out of the lineup and replacing him with somebody capable of hitting .250 (Blanco is a .245 career hitter), will be an improvement. How sad is that?
Sweet play, Infante, over on the hot corner!!
when i think of McLouth… i wanna cry…”
Hmmm, make a good song.
I’m so McLouthsome I could cryyyyyyyyy.
3 outs away.

Fear, just keep ignoring the RN kid. He is obviously a troll who apparently had parents who abused him.
jeffreeee(y) – did you win this morning?
this is great! oh troy glaus……
Venters has future closer stuff.
Bartholomeeeew (Bat) Masterson
Pile on some more runs, the hell with the Phillies.
At least we know if anybody on the Braves gets dehydrated, there’s a bunch of milk readily available
May 31st, 20103:52 pm
But there is also a side of me that says leave this team alone right now. It ain’t broke, so don’t try and fix it.
Trey – was someone talking to me>
let’s get a few more off lidge here
May 31st, 20103:53 pm
Haha there ya go FEAR. Greg RN is just a moron.
attendance is 42,543. Shoulda gone with my gut instinct which was 40,000s, not pushing 40,000. Always go with the gut instinct!
Soph – I haven’t heard the official results, but I think I won because everybody in front of me started before the gun
Seriously though…considering that I’ve only started running again (since November) about a month ago I’m pretty happy with my time.
May 31st, 20103:54 pm
So all u dumasses think that they should have kept Hanson in after 110 pitches t hink i’m wrong?????????? Cause that’s J-Heys comment I was respondiong to
Well I don’t know about everybody else but I would not have minded if bobby would have kept him in for one more hitter given the work the bullpen has put in. And no I would not have bemoaned Bobby if Tommy too would have given up that run because I didn’t bemoan him yesterday when he left KK in because I understood what he was trying to do. Fact of the matter is these starters are doing good but we aren’t getting many complete games, I think we have one all year, so that hurts your bullpen. So many times the bullpen has to pick up the starters, doesn’t hurt every now and then to have the starters try to pick up the bullpen a little.
If they hold on to win this game, they will be 13-3 since Prado and Heyward have been inserted into the 1-2 spots in the order. Just imagine how big the lead in the NL East would be, had Bobby done it 2-3 weeks earlier?
Greg, so your mother is not a woman?
how about a heyward homer to make him wanna go back on the dl again
Braves need to whack the he!! out of Lidge just for the future.
I agree with your latter statement concerning Nate. He does cover quite a bit of ground in center and defends his position well. We can only hope his bat just starts to be average, not asking more than .250 average at this point with how other pieces in the line up are swinging right now.
Right on, GAYNURSE, I’m a bitch…and I own it!
Greg, I could have sworn your mother was a woman.
omg…its been a long time since I have the chance to see a lefty like Jonny Venters…..from a 96mph fastball to a 84mph curveball…amazing
May 31st, 20103:55 pm
I, too, was concerned about Chipper for the simple reason that he looked so un-Chipper like, so amateurish, on about 5 specific at bats a couple weeks ago, I was hearing the knell of the death bell to his career. His slugging% coupled with his on base% was meriting consideration to drop him to the 2 hole.
I don’t think he’s going to pull a George Brett and win the batting title, but I think his slugging% will go up, if slightly. What concerns me is the mental aspect of this game–the superstitious elements that can wreak havok on some players. I wouldn’t mess with the current batting order until the other shoe drops, so to speak. If Chipper has but 3 HR’s on July 1st, and the offense has cooled significantly, I’d say try it.
Iwk321, Venters is amazing.

Sorry Greg, but my mother is not like yours. My mother actually has self respect.
I love how I get taken to task for making a comment expressing my concern about Tommy’s difficulties early in the game with a three run lead in one of the most important games the Braves have played in five years and I get no breaks about anything else I post.
I said last week that if given a chance, Gregor Blanco was going to get a big hit for us. If Glaus had made an out there, Blanco’s double would have driven in the two runs. It’s worth pointing out that that was his first at-bat since he’s been up.
I am a Gregor Blanco fan for crying out loud! Who else on here has been as possitive and supportive of Blanco as I have over the last two years? If anything makes me a non-hater, it’s that.
As much as he is capable of “killing” a ball, he did with that swing. Might have been out in Philly.
eff it I am picking up Glaus in my fantasy league.
I would like to see Heyward hit one to the moon here off of Lidge…
You type like you are ghetto, but I bet you are some middle class suburban white kid who listens to Vanilla Ice.
May 31st, 20103:57 pm
I can’t believe how quite the crowd is.
Do they know what’s going on here?
of course someone has him..
Back to the game, let’s see what Heyward can do.
oh well…..let’s shut em down and then first place in june since 2005!!!!
3 Outs From 1st Place
Young people on the blog…………..
Heyward can’t get ‘em all.
May 31st, 20103:58 pm
Mitchell, you whine a lot.
Phillies better watch out tomorrow. J-Hey always comes back with a vengeance from an 0-5 game.
whats with this Greg? Where’d you come from Gregory?
HEY! Vanilla Ice was good for one song.
3 more outs and we’re in first place!
Probably got tired of dealing with you.
eric the elder
Trey, don’t go to bed tonight with this thought. You need surgery and are in the operating room, The OR nurse grins at you and says, “Hi, I’m Greg, RN.”
Oh well. Heyward can’t be perfect in every game!
The final 3 outs of the game coming up….:D
May 31st, 20103:59 pm
Which song was that Colin? The Ice Ice Baby? I was never fond of him, but I am not into rapping.
Not that I want to see J-Hey ever go 0-5, but you have to like that fact that we have scored 9 runs today with him doing so. Doesn’t he come back with a vengeance after his rare 0-5s?
did I see Chavez going out? uhhhhhhhhhh
Trey, If Venters keep going like this…he will become the best lefty in the league…
Mitchell, just out of curiousity, how old are you?
May 31st, 20104:00 pm
eric, that would suck, but at least he is not a doctor or a surgeon. I doubt he is even an RN. RNs are much smarter than him, lol. Also, at least he does not know what I look like, hahah, and at least we are in two different states, so he couldn’t keep me from getting better if he was a nurse.
Ignore her people. She’ll go away.
haha yup Ice Ice Baby was mine and my buddies song during high school..senior year pretty sure we got pulled aside numerous occasions for singing it to loud while class was going on…that or Don’t Stop Believing.
May 31st, 20104:01 pm
That was a frickin’ strike? WTF?
Nova Scotia Steve
I have an extreme case of nervous diarrhea now that Chavez is in the game
Chavez in the pitch. Hope he brings his good stuff. Otherwise, Wagner might get a save situation before we know it.
To everyone, I should not have bashed Greg RNs mother, especially because he claims she died, but usually people do that so they get sympathy, however, I can say the most f*cked up things like I did in regards to his rude comments.
2 outs away!!!
One down….two to go!
2 more to go .
May 31st, 20104:02 pm
Lol, he was the one hit wonder, Colin for sure.
99 percent chance we win this game, according to gamecast on ESPN.
It has been a long time. Almost 24 hours since Billy Wagner got a save yesterday.
haha no doubt..he was.. at least he admits it.
Bobby Cox trying to send a wakeup call to the Phillies offense sending Chavez out.
May 31st, 20104:03 pm
First place comin up baby
well walks with a 6 run lead, Chavez go back to the Burgh, youd fit in.
This was the lead the Reds had on the Braves when we came back, hope the Phils don’t do it.
And he walks Carlos Ruiz… Wow…
May 31st, 20104:04 pm
Is Chavez gonna make even a 6 run lead an adventure? I certainly hope not..
9-3 lead with 1 out in the 9th and you’re walking people? Throw some damn strikes and let the 7 guys behind you make some plays!
I’d hate to be hasty with Nate and yank him prematurely, sit him/trade him (although I don’t see anyone picking up that, what is it, 10 mil thru next year?), but when the offense cools off–which, at some point, it will–his k’s and pop ups may become so glaringly debilitating to a team that will suddenly need to play small ball to manufacture runs, to have base runners via walk, or hard hit single–neither of which is his specialty.
That was much better…
