Oh yeah, while the grounds crew is out there, change the sign in right center from “This is Braves Country” to “This is No-Hit Country” – should be an easy change, both Braves and No-Hit are 6 spaces and have the same menaning.

The draw back to Chipper being in the 2 hole is lack of speed. Heyward runs the bases better, so he and Prado will hopefully give Chipper a lot of RBI opportunities.

Heyward will be in the 3 or 4 soon anyway.

Proof?

He can’t field, son. Sorry, that’s just the way it is. Nice kid, good clutch hitter with a talent for coming off the bench and getting a hit – not an easy thing to do. He cannot field.

If the Braves have an ideal that he can – which would be unfortunate, that a major league team would be so clueless – then you’ll find out, as they will, that he is a liability in the field.

Who would have guessed that Chipper wouldn’t walk away from $13million/year???? We have no 3B prospect in the minors that I am aware of. I guess we will have to make through 2 more years of Chipper plodding along at 3B.

Also its like a cost/benefit allowance, a better defensive player like Melky may prevent a run or two with his defense he is a huge liability at the plate. While Hinske may be cause an extra run with his defense, he will make that up plus more with his bat, which is where the team is lacking. Bobby has been doing it perfectly, start Hinske to spark the offense, get the lead, then put in Melky to help preserve it.

No disrespect intended, but you are grievously mistaken. I guess you’ll just have to let your eyes be the judge, and over a larger sample size. I don’t, however, believe the Braves could possibly be in the dark about this, so I don’t seriously think he’ll be seeing a lot of reps in COF.

You have to understand, I am saying this in context of understanding that COFers are ALREADY guys you compromise on defensively because of their bats. But Hinske isn’t even THAT guy. He’s worse, much worse.

T for Texas, Gammons has a point. Look at the time when they did the deal for Tex. Most teams have the “win now” mentality and Wren is dead on that those prospects dealt were blocked. Yes, they could’ve deal later for other needs on the team, but that “win now” mode is there again. Besides, Scheurholz made that deal and he should be defending that deal with Gammons, not Wren.

I still don’t get the line, Braves fan base needs subtitles. Read it more than once and I still don’t understand.

Escobar is one of the few Braves with current trade value. Is Infante a bona fide every day MLB shortstop?

I suspect Escobar is not well liked on the team because of his hot dogging. Even if he hits .320, does he drag the rest of the team down? I wouldn’t be surprised if some other player with the same injury would not have been encouraged or allowed back into the line-up sooner.

I would love to hear from others the possibility of Escobar being moved, and what we gain/lose with Infante as a regular at SS.

Damn straight Jeremy. That’s the lineup that BC should pencil in. Having Chipper “protect” Heyward from the cleanup spot would probably light a fire under Chipper somehow since he loves the 3 hole so much. His singles and doubles would work well with Prado, Hinske and Heyward ahead of him in the lineup. BC probably won’t do it since it weakens the bottom portion of the lineup w/o Hinske down there, but I agree w/ you. I’m okay with Heyward in the 2 spot. Notice that since Bobby moved him up in the order, he stole his first 2 bases of the year? Two games up in the lineup, 2 SB.

I’d rather have Heyward on base (possibly stealing 2nd if needed, and certainly able to go 1st to 3rd on a single, 1st to home on a double) with Chipper at the plate, than to have slow-footed Chipper on base for Heyward.

Heyward will get plenty of RBI opps either way, but it’s nice to have some speed on the bases for Chipper, Glaus & McCann – all of whom can drive him in, but won’t hit a ton of HR.

At least I think there’s an argument to be made for it.

When US citizens are in any foreign country, we are required to carry our passports, validation of who we are, where we are from and what our business is being in that foreign land.

For those Lib’s who share the protesters point of view, just read up on Mexico’s laws concerning immigration. If the roles were reversed and you were there illegally, you’d be in jail no questions asked, fined heavily, perhaps violated while in custody, then deported.
