What did the D-Backs do? It’s not like they’re gonna go to City Hall in Phoenix and ask to reverse the law. I see the Braves to sweep Arizona and Glaus, McLouth, and Prado to have an awesome series.
Good luck to Ned Yost with the Royals.

KJ is the ultimate hot/cold guy – it’s one of the reasons I’m glad the Braves moved on – a ton of offense for a while followed by a prolonged drought just doesn’t cut it in a marathon season.
Though if Kelly gets on fire during a playoff run, he could be a difference maker, you just never know when he’s going to to 0 – 20 something.

With an ERA of almost 6 runs a game, only ONE team in all of MLB is averaging more runs per game than KK is giving up. So unless the Bronx Bombers rise from the dead and show up at Turner Field today, we need to somehow insure that KK does not. Maybe we can get the GA DOT to change out all the highway signs into Swahili and hope that KK’s personal valet can’t read them!

And I still cannot comprehend why people are protesting the “carry papers” idea when the Federal Law has required that same thing for years and years and years. Somebody get a copy of the AZ Law (which is only 10 pages) and read it over the stadium PA system since even our illustrious Attorney General, Eric Holder, admitted yesterday that he has not even READ it — so I’m sure that non of the protestors have read it. Please excuse the rantings of a legal immigrant.

Politics on the blog is like a baseball beanball war, LOL. Some idiot gets to have his say, and anybody disagreeing is warned not to do so, upon pain of expulsion.
That leaves the first idiot free to throw at as many hitters as he wants to, as long as he does it first. That seem right to everybody?
Suspensions for first offenses, I say. Banishment for repeat offenders, I say. Kill ‘em all and let God sort ‘em out, for those who REALLY tick me off, I say.

I agree with you on Mike Brown. I dont watch too much basketball but whenever I’ve seen a Cavs game I got the feeling that it was having Lebron which made Brown look good and never his coaching. Put Brown against any good coach and they were going to lose – like say Doc Rivers who seems to do a phenomenal job of managing that group. I think based on recent record he will stay, but if Lebron leaves Cleveland its a matter of time before he is sent packing.

When you give up more runs per game than 29 of the 30 MLB teams score per game, that makes it quite difficult for 29 of 30 teams that play ballevery day to win if you are their starter. And when the team you do play for is averaging 1 run a game less than you are allowing, that pretty much means that when they run you out there every 5 days, they are going to lose statistically speaking. So far this season, only the Yankees have scored enough runs day in and day out to winn with KK on the mound. Maybe we should have sent KK there rather than sending Vazquez. But looking at Vazquez’s results this year, the two are interchangeable.

The DBacks are being protested because their owner, Ken Kendrick, bankrolled the politicians that passed the law. Kendrick holds private fundraisers for the supporters of this bill in a stadium that was financed with $250 million of public money. Hence, he’s using a building that was 70% funded by public dollars to push his own private pet candidates/politics.

Hopefully Chipper is not batting in the 3-spot today. It should be Heywards. He is by far the best player on this team and it isn’t even close. He has the speed, the power, the patience to be one of the greatest players of all time. He has done well hitting there so far.
In two games hitting third he is batting .429 with a .636 OBP and 6 runs. He is scoring 3 runs a game by himself! I think that is reason enough to leave him there. This Braves team can’t even score 3 runs without him.

Very nice segue CR. Not yet on Chipper. With Glaus heating up I think you put Heyward at 2 and Prado at 1. Put the pitcher in the 8 hole and Nate in the 9 hole, A la LaRussa . If 9 hole and 1 can get on base Heyward will benefit. Chipper will benefit from Heywards high OBP and get some support from Glaus and a (hopefully) improving McCann.

Brian from SC – I’d rather him hit with more men on base. He is by far the best player on the team at scoring runs as well as driving in runs. The two spot should be Prado’s. I see no reason in moving him from there. Heyward anywhere from 3-5 in the lineup is fine with me. Two seems a little bit odd, just because it takes away his ability to drive in runs. I’d like to have the best of both worlds with him.
