You’re going to deny young Tommy Hanson of his first complete game in his career…

His last start was a complete game Mitchell. I like wins better than CG, personally.

I absolutely loathe Bobby Cox.

Your pitchers want to pitch Bobby! You’re going to deny young Tommy Hanson of his first complete game in his career… for the second time? Against the Astros, again?!

Just because we won doesn’t mean we’re not still inept. I mean “they”.

2-0 on the night with my teams. Thank goodness, wasn’t sure the Hawks remembered how to win on the road or if the braves remembered how to win at all.

Those Bucks fans, they’re funny. Josh Smith sucks. If Milwaukee is the best you can do as a city to be hated by, gotta say, I don’t think that fazes Josh. I mean Chipper Jones is one of the most hated guys in New York and still killed them. I think Josh can deal with being the mosted hated guy in Milwaukee . I wonder if those Bucks fans will actually sit down and read Josh’s whole quote in context and realize they were hating on a guy who really didn’t say anything wrong. He was mocking that guy from Chicago, Joakim Noah who had been dissing Cleveland.

METS MADNESS, enjoy it while it lasts. You guys have a good team, but so does everyone else in this division. We’ll see…. there’s a lot of baseball left man. It’s a little early for gloating and, like I said earlier, especially from a fan of a team that is notorious for epic collapses. It says a lot when most people would be surprised if the Mets didn’t blow it.

It never ceases to amaze (pun intended) me how Mets fans constantly feel the need to come on a Braves web site blog or message board and proclaim their team’s alleged greatness. Given the state of the NL East right now, you’d think they would be totally focused on the Phillies’ sites, but no, the desperate need to somehow “prove” something on Braves sites remains. :)

Mitchell – Wagner doesn’t need to pitch? Uhhh, yes he does. He’s pitched once in the last 10 days. You can’t just let your closer sit out there game after game an then when needed expect him to come in sharp and throwing gas. We had a two run lead. This is what we went out and got him for.

We won, man. Lighten up and enjoy it.

That equals the total by the 3, 4, and 5 spot COMBINED!

DOWN ON THE FARM:

The G-BRAVES make it two in a row in the victory column behind TODD REDMOND’s seven hits in 5.0 IP, but only 1 ER, 1 BB, and 4 SO. Middle relief is provided by VLAD “Impaler” NUNEZ (H,1) and CORY GEARRIN (H,3) with a combined 3.0 IP of scoreless work. CRAIG KIMBREL finishes it out with an inning of perfection and one strikeout (S,5).

Four hitters with multi-hit games. The Flailing CUBAN (2-4, 3 RBI) and MITCH JONES (2-4, 2 RBI) both go yard. Old Man River also goes 2-4, but the best may have been FREDDIE FREEMAN who garners two singles in three AB’s with a walk and zero strikeouts. In two nights Mr. FREEMAN has moved his season’s average from a moribund .232 to a respectable .264. Maybe practice makes perfect yet. That shimmering mass on his horizon that is the HOTLANTA may be in a bit better focus after all.

In all honesty the phillies leading the division will scare me more than the mets. Mets have had one of the easiest start schedules with all those home games that where against struggling teams(braves included in that category of struggling). We’ll see how they fare as they move into the tougher part of their schedule. Playing well now though, I will give you that. Phillies may not be the run away favorite for the NL. I know they have some injuries, I just think play has improved in general around the National League. Long season, we’ll see what happens.

Good to see Nate on track tonight. I imagine he’d be a HUGE lift to the team if he can get on base consistanly and steal a few. He doesn’t have Crawford speed, but he’s the best we got and it’d take a lot of pressure off guys like Mac/CJ/Glaus and even Heyward.
