Watching the Mets and Phillies and wondering out who to pull for is like being stuck in hell watching Hitler and Saddam in a cage match and wondering the same thing.
Let’s be honest the rate our pitchers usually pitch they will never have a CG. I’d rather Bobby risk it, considering Hanson has only thrown about 100 pitches in 8 innings, and has hardly made it out of the 5th without throwing 100.
I would definitely leave Hanson out there. If its a matter of pitch count, then you have to remember his last start was shortened by rain. HE’S RETIRED 15 IN A ROW!
that’s what i am talking about…8 great innings from your starter…closer does his job…timely hr…some agressiveness on the basepaths…but remember, momentum in baseball is only as good as tomorrow’s pitcher…
Heaven forbid the Braves with the World Series with Chip calling it. Can you imagine if Heyward hit the Series clinching homer? I think the broadcast booth would literally explode
Braves win, Tommy goes 8 for the with 7K and 2R. Billy closes it out after what seems like 40 days off. Heyward hits 2HR if Pence didn’t eat his Wheaties this morning. Blog was pretty much doom and gloom free in-game. Hawks pull it out. Pretty darn good day if you ask me.
In other NL East action:
1st place Mets beating the 2nd place Phillies 9-1 in the 9th, and
3rd place Nats beating the 4th place Marlins 5-1 in the 8th.
Your pitchers want to pitch Bobby! You’re going to deny young Tommy Hanson of his first complete game in his career… for the second time? Against the Astros, again?!
Wagner doesn’t need to pitch any more than Tommy does. I can’t help feeling like that hurts Tommy’s confidence to do that.
Surely he wants to finish the game. That’s what pitchers are supposed to do. It would not have killed him to let him pitch the 9th. 99 pitches? Give me a break.
Don’t you want a complete game to give the bullpen a rest. Totally unecessary. If he’s not ready yet to throw more than 100 pitches then when will he be?
We’ll talk again in MAY, JUNE, JULY, AUGUST, SEPTEMBER and as the season goes along we’ll see how your post’s bocome more submissive to the reality of the season.
I would like to thank Jesus and the good Lord for bringing a W to the table tonight..I want to thank my parents for not letting me go into a deep depression over these 9 games..id like to thank the fans for packing the Ted with 30K even tho they a rough patch…most of all id like to thank Tommy Hanson, 7 innings of dominance with 1 rough, but manageable patch..

As much as I’d like Hanson go for the complete game, Bobby has to do what’s best for the team in order to get this much needed win.
