Watching the Mets and Phillies and wondering out who to pull for is like being stuck in hell watching Hitler and Saddam in a cage match and wondering the same thing.
stfu Chip. I need these speakers.
Keep yelling, Chip. Maybe you’ll get laryngitis, and we’ll all get a break.
Was that close to going out at all?
As much as I’d like Hanson go for the complete game, Bobby has to do what’s best for the team in order to get this much needed win.
April 30th, 20109:49 pm
Even if that was a homer, there’s no need for Chip to hit that decibel
Bat, those Bucks fans were not happy! I love it.
They just flashed the Hawks score here on the big board and showed game-ending highlights. got a big cheer
What happened, over the wall catch?
“How close was J-Hey on that?”
he caught it over the wall, it was gone
April 30th, 20109:50 pm
Let’s be honest the rate our pitchers usually pitch they will never have a CG. I’d rather Bobby risk it, considering Hanson has only thrown about 100 pitches in 8 innings, and has hardly made it out of the 5th without throwing 100.
MFin04 – very close and Pence had to make a leaping catch at the wall to rob it.
Pence’s glove was the only thing that stopped it.
By the looks of the posts coming through twitter it sounds like Pence robbed him of HR #2
Pence took a HR away from Heyward.
SWUNG ON AND BELT-ED!!!!!!
My ears are still ringing…
BamaDude @ CowCollege AL
tip of the cap by Jason …class
April 30th, 20109:51 pm
Pence robs guys often, great athlete.
Wagner is coming in….
EFFFFFF N A COTTON!!! I need another J Hey HR.. I HATE YOU PENCE ***** ***** **** ****!!!!
Did Wagner go out for the save?
I hate to break the news kids……The METS are a good team…….You’ll see
April 30th, 20109:52 pm
I hope someone has some spare WD40 for Billy. We need this.
Well, I’m glad I hadn’t flipped back to the Braves game yet. Chip being Chip.
Melky needs to stay away from the sour cream, jeez, why do so many latin players balloon up after being in the majors for a few?
and CAUGHT just short of second base
April 30th, 20109:53 pm
Bat M You’re going to end up a grey haired college freshman.
I told you, my Mom found two of ‘em on my head today…
jeffrey d If my math is right, I think the name should still be McMauer
Will it hurt your feelings if I tell you I’m not sure what “mau-er less” means…?
CT in AL
Hate to break the news METS MADNESS but the Braves were in 1st place last Tuesday too. Not saying the Mets are terrible, but we’re 3 weeks in bud
Chip’s screaming is the only thing you can hear from space
See, I knew the Braves would score four runs today and with Hanson the Astros would score two runs.
I would definitely leave Hanson out there. If its a matter of pitch count, then you have to remember his last start was shortened by rain. HE’S RETIRED 15 IN A ROW!
Wags better be on tonight
April 30th, 20109:54 pm
Please don’t put MFIKY on the screen. What the hell is the truck thinking?
Mets win and we have a Troll sighting, surprise, surprise….
exhibit A: What they just showed that happened to Tommy last year.
mets = pretenders …
sweet hands there
April 30th, 20109:55 pm
if he reaches that probably makes for a trouble inning
You should try listening to the Braves radio guys…not much better. You can’t tell if its a hit or an out with them.
HAHA everytime Heyward makes contact Chip gets turned on if ya know what I mean
April 30th, 20109:56 pm
chip, don’t say that …
Rob from SC
This is on COx
I think you can get a shot for that now, no need to suffer any longer son.
Chip, damnit, shut your pie hole with stuff like that.
Well Tommy, it was a nice try, but this is the Braves, and they do not allow their starters to get wins.
does the organist at the ballpark have to play Enter Sandman after every batter
April 30th, 20109:57 pm
Billy Wagner is autoelectric.
good thing he’s a slow runner! BALLGAME!
PRAISE THE LORD!!!
Got home just in time…
Yayyyyy! ATL winners all around tonight.
It’s about damn time.
ugh…Chip even makes snapping a losing streak painful to listen to
BRaves Win! Braves win! Braves win!
been too long since I said that
Damn you think they won the WS or sometihng.
April 30th, 20109:58 pm
And the losing streak ends….BRAVES WIN!!! (FINALLY)
Here we go again – come on Wags!!!!
the long nightmare is OVER
Will it hurt your feelings if I tell you I’m not sure what “mau-er less” means…? (McFann)
(mau-er less = more of less, young lady )
LOL. Yes indeed.
METS MADNESS, here’s your trophy for winning the NL East in April. Oh wait….
5-4-3 double play to win it.
April 30th, 20109:59 pm
Now for some expert analysis from Brian Jordan
“Finally, The Braves have come back, to ATLANTA!!!”
Ahem, make that or, dang-it.
WE WON ITS OVER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 9 game ineptness is done !!!!!
Ding Dong the Streak is Dead!!!!……….
Good job by Wagner, more of less…
April 30th, 201010:00 pm
that’s what i am talking about…8 great innings from your starter…closer does his job…timely hr…some agressiveness on the basepaths…but remember, momentum in baseball is only as good as tomorrow’s pitcher…
I missed all the good stuff a la Nate & Heyward’s homers, seeing Tommy pitch, etc so I guess I’ll be catching the replay at 11.
think they won the WS or sometihng
Heaven forbid the Braves with the World Series with Chip calling it. Can you imagine if Heyward hit the Series clinching homer? I think the broadcast booth would literally explode
Braves and Hawks …win ? …fun
April 30th, 201010:01 pm
Haha! “More or less”…why didn’t I get that?
I was discombobulated by that K.
Obviously they just needed me back watching to break the streak.
85 game win streak here we come!
Didn’t No More Bobby say he was going to the game to see them lose 10 in a row? Maybe we need to send him to all the home games.
JC from DR
Finally, good game for the Braves!
Hi, VJ. Don’t worry about it. I deserved that.
Thank God the losing streak is over. It would be nice to do some sweeping ourselves.
April 30th, 201010:02 pm
Braves win, Tommy goes 8 for the with 7K and 2R. Billy closes it out after what seems like 40 days off. Heyward hits 2HR if Pence didn’t eat his Wheaties this morning. Blog was pretty much doom and gloom free in-game. Hawks pull it out. Pretty darn good day if you ask me.
In other NL East action:
1st place Mets beating the 2nd place Phillies 9-1 in the 9th, and
3rd place Nats beating the 4th place Marlins 5-1 in the 8th.
I absolutely loathe Bobby Cox.
Your pitchers want to pitch Bobby! You’re going to deny young Tommy Hanson of his first complete game in his career… for the second time? Against the Astros, again?!
Wagner doesn’t need to pitch any more than Tommy does. I can’t help feeling like that hurts Tommy’s confidence to do that.
Surely he wants to finish the game. That’s what pitchers are supposed to do. It would not have killed him to let him pitch the 9th. 99 pitches? Give me a break.
Don’t you want a complete game to give the bullpen a rest. Totally unecessary. If he’s not ready yet to throw more than 100 pitches then when will he be?
Pisses me off.
Jeeezz of course the Braves won, you guys act like that is unusual.
We’ll talk again in MAY, JUNE, JULY, AUGUST, SEPTEMBER and as the season goes along we’ll see how your post’s bocome more submissive to the reality of the season.
I would like to thank Jesus and the good Lord for bringing a W to the table tonight..I want to thank my parents for not letting me go into a deep depression over these 9 games..id like to thank the fans for packing the Ted with 30K even tho they a rough patch…most of all id like to thank Tommy Hanson, 7 innings of dominance with 1 rough, but manageable patch..
April 30th, 201010:03 pm
Liquid Cocaine Shots around the Blog tonight!
No Diggitity, No Doubt!
And here’s that little ray of sunshine Mitchell
workin’ for the weekend …thanks Braves (Hawks) ….
April 30th, 201010:04 pm
J-Hey is Gonna Start Clowning! “Bank on it!”
Too Bad Bobby won’t hit him 3rd! because that makes most sense, not to mention Roger Dorn refuses to move from there….
lol jeffrey. Deep down he’s happy. He just has a hard time showing it.
April 30th, 201010:05 pm
Brian Jordan’s excited.
“Hey I’m here with da playa of the game Nate McLouf!”
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
