Actor Luke Wilson visits Turner Field

Actor Luke Wilson visited Turner Field Friday as a guest of broadcaster Joe Simpson.

He watched batting practice, met Chipper Jones and manager Bobby Cox and got a little tongue-in-cheek from Braves president John Schuerholz.

After someone suggested Schuerholz might have Wilson throw a bullpen session, Schuerholz shook his head no and quipped: “Can you hit?”

Wilson, who dates Simpson’s daughter Meg, grew up in Dallas and pulls for the Texas Rangers but said he’s been a Braves fan as well from their years on TBS and pulled for them in the 1990s.

As for meeting Jones? Wilson said he seemed like a nice guy, and then paid Jones this Hollywood-worthy compliment: “If somebody was going to play a baseball player in a movie, it should be Chipper.”

I was on the set of a movie Owen Wilson was filming yesterday. If I know anything about the two of them I’d have to say that Luke is much cooler.

He (Owen) didn’t talk to anybody. Seemed like a total @$$hole.

Didn’t know Luke was in town also. He seems like a nice guy. I wonder if any of them knew who he was though. I’m sure Jason didn’t.

He doesn’t watch TV or movies. He just hits homeruns.

Mitchell, the world isn’t so much full of a**holes as it is full of people who don’t want to talk to you.

Joe’s daughter is a knockout…and so is Mrs. Simpson. I’ve known them since the mid 90’s when I worked in East Cobb. Very nice people…Joe is very funny!

I can’t stomach to watch anything with Luke Wilson in it anymore since he started doing those incredibly irritating AT&T commercials. Reports are all over the place that he’s hell to work with, too – supposedly very demanding on the commercial’s set, refusing to say his lines, won’t work with many actors, etc etc. I guess that’s what happens when people stop offering you parts.

Bottle Rocket was the peak for both Wilsons, I wonder if he stood over that map of America flinging index cards AT&T style he could find us a hitting coach?

Hey Mitchell,

I probably wouldn’t talk to your lame arse either.

Does that make me an a@@hole?

News Flash, buddy- public figure doesn’t equal circus monkey. Since you ain’t paying his salary you’re entitled to jack and s$%^.

And that’s true whether you’re a Hollywood actor or a window washer.

I have a theory, that Owen and Luke are actually the same person. The entity Owen, or Luke, just changes his hair color when auditiong for parts. This allows him to work in twice as many movies.
