This wholly sucks. This team seems done/white flag and all, and I just had to put my cursor over the time to make sure it’s April

No seeming leadership. No hitting. No hitting. No hitting. Did I mention……. Plenty of good pitching wasted.

At least there’s the WC, then football, and Pavement at the Tabernacle.

yeah and since then they got Hanson in a DFE and Heyward lower than anybody expected. Cutting that staff still left them with one of the best in the majors. Kind of a stretch there big guy

PDub – much of what you say is true. Here is my problem. The players are not held accountable for poor fundimentals and their appears to be very little attention to detail. Some of the guys are getting unlucky but to continue to have men at third with less than two outs and NEVER get them in is poor hitting fundimentals.

I do not believe this team will be fine but they will improve offensively. Their track records and law of averages say they have to. Some is not Bobbys fault but here is what is.
Having Moylan pitch to a lefty when they are hitting .375 off him. Continuing to run up Norton last year in crutial situations. And generally making stupid game decisions.

One thing to ponder. What manager in MLB has the longest tenue without making the play offs at this time? Yep you guessed it.

braves70,

IIRC, the presence of the Predators is what cost Nashville a chance at the Grizzlies a few year’s back (2003?). Some issue with the arena lease, and inability to work two team’s schedules into the arena’s availability.

Hockey was the “it” sport for so many cities, but Nashville jumped in and regretted it.

I went to a game there once. It was weird. Cool arena, but every time the Predators scored, they had some country music singer on a video singing, “I like it, I love it, I want some more of it.”

I’m no hockey purist, (heck, I’m from Kentucky, what do I know about hockey), but the whole thing made me kind of cringe.

“It’s unlikely any team would make a major move at this time with their roster,” Wren said. “It’s just 20 games, and there are a lot of players [around baseball] well under their norms and other players well over.”

To me, this quote seems that Wren is saying that it’d be unlikely for him to find a trade partner this early in the season — rather than him saying, “it’s too early for us to make a major move.” Kinda like he’s saying, “sure, I’d love to do something here, but teams don’t want to do that this early on.”
