That’s an interesting opening sentence. There are many here that do appreciate Chipper Jones.
Well, Joe a newsflash. “We ain’t the ‘27 Yankees.”
McCann is getting worse and worse everyday it seems. He’s playing like it’s the last week of the season and he’s all wore out. What up with that?
JC from DR
A typical first inning.

Tomahawkin, man, you might as well chill. I don’t see them breaking out of this in a hurry. It’ll come slowly, but against this Carpenter, it’ll be one tough night for these hitters.
Take this for what it’s worth. The Braves just ended their half inning of the 1st without looking very good. By all accounts, the Braves should get their asses handed to them tonight because of the pitching matchup and the fact that Atlanta’s batting lineup really sucks with the exception of Prado, and even he is starting to cool down a bit. But, for some reason, I being the eternal pessimist, think that someone the Braves will pull this game out. Must be good drugs, right? Let’s see what happens.
April 27th, 20108:24 pm
I hope Lowe looked at the video from his no-hitter 8 years ago.
Nice Play by ESCO
Take that ESCO Haters!
April 27th, 20108:25 pm
Again, it is on the pitching. This offense is what it is. It wil get slightly better, but we better learn to win scoring 3 or 4 runs. If we don’t, we aren’t going to win a lot of games.
Going to miss the game again tonight. How about a win Braves fans? Can we make that happen?
April 27th, 20108:26 pm
Lowe keeps this up and we have as good a chance at winning this as the Cards do.
Whats Up with B-Macc? He looks lost at the plate
He probably caught the Pendleton
April 27th, 20108:27 pm
I have COX cable in Macon and they don’t have Peachtree TV but they generally show game on channel 11. On the guide it says they are showing the Braves game but instead they have some show selling gems on.
Brian from SC
All on the ground…let’s keep it that way.
BamaDude @ CowCollege AL
nice work D Lowe !
If we can play small ball tonight against Big Carp and the cool weather it may turn this skid around…
April 27th, 20108:28 pm
14 pitches for Lowe… 11 sinkers, 1 cutter, 1 changeup and 1 slider! LOL!
Good job, Derek. Now for some runs.
The gem show might be time better spent.
April 27th, 20108:29 pm
I think it was more like 11 sinkers and 3 sliders…
April 27th, 20108:31 pm
Walk by Glaus, There We go! Cmon J-Hey!
lead off BB to bring up Jason to make noise
Carpenter obviously fears the Cardinal menace, Glaus. Walked him to start second inning.
April 27th, 20108:32 pm
Let’s GO Heyward!
April 27th, 20108:33 pm
Nice Baserunning there, about time the braves did something half decent on the bases
Glaus was so slow there that he tricked the Cardinals.
Pujols bout came off the bag early there.
Fairly nifty baserunning for the big boy there to avoid second out.
damn the base running adventures of this team
How about that. Some good base running by Glaus. So far so good.
Bat Masterson –
I didn’t say EVERYONE trashes Hoss. But it has become something of an anti-Chipper echo chamber in here of late. I go on other blogs frequently. Jeter could bat .078 for half a season and you wouldn’t find one Yankee blogger calling for his benching or retirement.
One remark like that about Chipper is one too many.
The apoplectic reactions to Chipper’s ups and downs are utterly absurd.
Oh, look at that: Chipper just walked AGAIN. Full count and Chipper sees a ball way outside from Carpenter. Didn’t offer anything he could drive. Case closed, folks.
If only we had a threat in the 6 hole to bolster McCann and Chipper.
April 27th, 20108:34 pm
I’m glad Glaus didn’t go on that…
Molina is becoming a pest…
Dan Kolb's Mom
April 27th, 20108:35 pm
Melky is looking good. You have to like it.
The Melk-Dud Finally does something! Nice!
Melky of all people is suddenly hot.
Wow, that was the widest turn around 3rd I’ve ever seen from Glaus. LOL.
Glaus doing some work on that adventurous trip around the bases.
Hope Troy is not hurt!
Nice to get a break there…I like it!
Man, Glaus taking it for the team.
Nice running there (I think).
April 27th, 20108:36 pm
Did Glaus Hurt Himself on that Slide? That looked Nasty
well THAT was unexpected!
I think he was just tired.
Nate is a sissy.
Troy got hit in the man parts at home…
Ta da! That’s one run, now time for a Lowe hit
Lowe teaching Nate how it’s done.
Derek Lowe says I got your run support right here.
God, I LOVE these slippers!!!!!!!!!!!!
April 27th, 20108:37 pm
I will take it
2 Runs, Nice! This offense is Clowning!
What’s up with the Braves pitchers?
0 fer…now 3 hits in 3 games in a row for the Bravos pitchers
Best Thing about it is we are making Big Carp Work!
Holy crap! Maybe I oughta go play the lottery.
April 27th, 2010
By a throw from Pujols…OUCH
April 27th, 20108:38 pm
Wrakarooni! Another lead! Hopefully we keep this one…
Just your garden-variety second inning, Melky single scores Glaus and Lowe single scores Melky. Yep.
April 27th, 20108:39 pm
I think Glaus is in pain down under. Just from reading his lips in the dugout to the trainer.
Cabrera and Glaus suddenly have a pulse the last couple of games. Hope it gets contagious.
Braves pitchers have a three-game hitting streak, after having not a single hit before that.
Isnt it a ‘Cardinal’ sin to make the 1st or 2nd out at home? I slay myself.
But seriously…They almost got him at the plate after bouncing 2 throws from shallow CF. How is that good baserunning?
Ok, everybody has to stay here for the rest of the game because last night when people left, that is when we lost
DOB, yeah, and off Carpenter.
DOB …like ya work there …
I had a Sid Bream flashback when Glaus came trucking around 3rd.
Lowe helped himself with the bat. Hopefully he cna help himself on the mound…
April 27th, 20108:40 pm
They’re not saying boooooo. They’re saying moooooooovvvveeerrrrssssss.
the real Andy
April 27th, 20108:41 pm
Lowe with the hardest hit ball of the night by the braves – go figure
Yes they now changed it to the Braves!
April 27th, 20108:42 pm
Good pitch…2-1 slider.
April 27th, 20108:43 pm
Hopefully Bobby doesn’t get promoted to GM
ST. LOUIS (AP)—Atlanta Braves manager Bobby Cox has an idea of how much St. Louis slugger Albert Pujols should get in his next contract: $50 million a year
Sid Bream was faster than Glaus.
Wind and the cool weather kept that in
I think Bobby was being a little facetious with that comment. I’m surprised it’s getting the press it has gotten.
I’ve read where a lot of sinkerball pitcher goes through slumps because if they’re off their mark just a tad then they get hit hard. Lowe looks like he’s one of those guys.
Well, Brian from SC–I think John Hart has some insight on what’s going on around baseball. He’s a baseball insider that’s been around for years. He must of heard something from someone or more than one person that would make his say that.
And if there’s any truth at all in this comments—it’s a potential huge story.
Rob from SC
Any talk about moving Heyward a little closer to the plate
April 27th, 20108:44 pm
They’re just pressing too hard. These guys can hit, they’ll be fine. Of course, we may be 10 games out by the time they snap out of it, so we’ll see…
Mr. Turnip-Green Jeans
Glaus for leadoff!
April 27th, 20108:45 pm
I don’t think you totally change the way a guy like Jason Heyward hits, especially when he’s hitting as well as he is, lol.
Nice Stab ESCO!
Now that’s a catch.
Helluva play by Yunel, who’s had a highlights package worth of them the last two nights.
Yunel! working for that gold glove this year
Now that is the Esky we know and love
DAYUM … Yunel must’ve got kicked hard in the rear because he’s making some highlights the last few games.
April 27th, 20108:46 pm
It’s a bird, it’s a plane…
What a play by Escobar!
April 27th, 20108:47 pm
Sitting Yunel lit a fire.
