So should Heyward get married?
Not unless they send him down first and keep his his biological clock from starting up.
He might need a little seasoning with the minor league dollies before he’s ready for the big leagues of marriage. I know, people say he has all the tools, but it’s a big step to the girls who hang out in ML parks. He definitely doesn’t want to slump there. And I mean “definitely”.

Yes, Crime Dog, perhaps we should just run some preventive care on the kid, go ahead and put him in Tiger’s rehab facility right now. Or make him watch a whole season’s worth of “Millionaire Matchmaker”, maybe. That might scare the everlovin’ Bridal Fair out of him.
Then, hit the archives and send him about a gazillion of Dentz’s posts on the subject. I’m sure such a smattering of the available “posts” would be enough to straighten the kid right the hell out.

Right. And the team that has the higher OBP and makes outs less will score more runs than the other team.
Francouer has driven in a hundred runs before but really was not that good. Yo can have that Francouer and Ill take a high OBP guy and ill beat your brains in every day.

This is actually the definition of National League baseball. The AL has 10 guys on each side. Nothings easy these days.

Again outs are the most precious thing in baseball. Theoretically until the third out is made a team could score infinity runs.
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that the team that takes the longest to make that third out is going to have a huge advantage. And yes that means scoring alot more runs.

Whether or not you care what people outside the Braves think of a player on your team, it almost has to make you feel good to hear all the praise Heyward is getting from everybody. Even Hershiser went on and on about this kid’s plate D and balance up there.

Well,
Here are my observations. The Mets offensive looks for real. They have hit 26 homers to the Braves 10. No homers for Glaus, and only one for Chipper. Ike Davis and Fernando Martinez have both outplayed the “star” Jason Heyward, who suddenly appears to be suffering from Nate McCloutitis. It’s going to be more of the same for you Bravo fans-decent pitching but not enough offense. While I don’t think the Mets will catch the Phillies this year, I think we have an excellent chance of winning the WC this year, I think our team and our pitching staff we be better than people think. I see the Braves finishing 3rd or 4th in the division depending on the Marlins. Our offense blows the Braves offense away.

I heard the radio interview with DOB and I appreciate the link, ABTSteve.
The 44 minutes went by fast, because it was enjoyable to listen to. Well, not all of it. There was one part I thought sucked.
“You wouldn’t believe, man, you wouldn’t believe….there’s been a relationship started on the blog. There’s a couple … there’s a guy that moved out to California and is living with the girl now. I don’t want to give you their names, but they talk about it there all the time, though, uhh … and they met through the blog. They went to a game together …. met at a game, and the next thing you know he’s up and moving across the country and he lives with her now.”

i agree about the concern of heyward. but not the concern that he wont produce in the major leauges this year, just the hype that he will hit .280 with around 20 homers this year. i dont see it happening for a few reasons. but this kid has great talent. he does have holes in the swing. and pitchers will know how to pitch to him after a few plate appearances. i do feel he will adjust, but guys like arod, griffey, wright, longoria, mauer. i dont think he is in that class like the hype has shown.
