Nick, those Mets pitchers were 5-13 with a 5.38 ERA against that “anemic offense” last year, one that promises to be much improved this year.
Heyward is a BUST!!
3-2 count & Heyward strikes out looking.
March 23rd, 20103:45 pm
Heyward strikes out looking.
Wow, on a 6′ 6″ kid, that pitch isn’t a strike.
March 23rd, 20103:46 pm
What pitch did he freeze on?
The kid has looked horrible last few games. AAA for at least half the season.
Bummer… no salvation today.
Nova Scotia Steve
March 23rd, 20103:47 pm
Heyward didn’t stike out – he gave Parnell a break.
anders If Chipper and McCann go down you can close up shop right there. At least in my humble opinion
ive though alot about this, and im not being a homer when i say i dont think its over if the braves lose chipper and mccann.
Proctor on to pitch
93 MPH fastball
March 23rd, 20103:48 pm
Frenchy flies out to Heyward.
March 23rd, 20103:49 pm
Proctor looks good. No way this dude isn’t going to make the team.
March 23rd, 20103:51 pm
Lol, cue the walk and 2-run shot.
Shane/RHR, and to think I’m making fun of Francoeur all while saying OBP% . The “P” in OBP is %. I need to go out and get some fresh air!
March 23rd, 20103:53 pm
And by looking good i mean velocity is good, command is good and he’s around the plate. he’s not missing by a lot…nice lookin curve
Not looking so good anymore…
March 23rd, 20103:54 pm
Proctor was dominant in a two-year stint as a set-up man with the Yankees. Unfortunately, they literally used him until his arm fell off. But, the good news with Tommy John is that you usually come back stronger when you are fully healthy. However, it usually takes a little over a year and a half from surgery before your full command and feel comes back.
Proctor – meet Gwinnett.
You are a huge doucher.
ive though alot about this, and im not being a homer when i say i dont think its over if the braves lose chipper and mccann. (DAP)
DAP, I believe you when you say that. To be honest I hope we don’t find out. Chipper and McCann are both solid guys who I hope stay healthy.
Proctor is all over the place.
What are Nate’s stats so far?
March 23rd, 20103:55 pm
Oh, great, now the game is out of the air. Does someone know what’s going on?
March 23rd, 20103:56 pm
seriously a huge doucher
The kid has looked horrible last few games. AAA for at least half the season. (Nick)
And what do you suggest they do with all that bronze they had delivered to the Ted last week?
mets lead 7-4
March 23rd, 20103:57 pm
I don’t think he is even gonna make the Gwinnett team.
Nevermind… game’s back. Just missed Proctor walking another hitter.
David Ross looks bad today Heyward with a great throw and Ross drops the ball.
Anders – I don’t buy into the kid like everybody around here.
Well…I can eat my words…but i still have faith in the guy…but who wouldn’t be sitting on a fastball down the middle of the plate after walking three guys.
I coulda ripped that one into right field.
March 23rd, 20103:58 pm
Huh. Lose a Frenchy, gain a Frenchy (RHR)
Who did Frenchy throw under the bus?
Nova Scotia Steve – LOL, pretty unlucky on your part. Try not to make too many crucial statements during the regular season ok?
Nick- You weren’t working at IBM back when Bill Gates came a knocking – were you?
March 23rd, 20103:59 pm
I love how the Mets announcers (K.Hernandez) say Proctor isn’t throwing hard…91-93 isn’t hard? Okay Keith….whatever man
Still 2 spots in the bullpen that noboby seems to want. I’d take Kimbrel & JoJo if I had to pick today and thats scary. Proctor, Acosta, Chavez, and Venters aren’t options IMO.
March 23rd, 20104:00 pm
Nate was batting around .024 a few days ago. Its safe to assume he will not break camp with good overall stats. If he starts hitting again it was a successful spring for Nate.
March 23rd, 20104:01 pm
First off Proctos is not a kid and he will be up with the Braves at some point early in the season. Nick and MFin04 try to be a little more optimistic. Proctor is way ahead of schedule he did have tommy john by the way.
Nova Scotia Steve – Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth. At least the Mets spend the money to televise the game. take the good with the bad.
March 23rd, 20104:02 pm
Remember how early Peter Moylan returned from TJ surgury…If i remember correctly these are very similar situations.
And yes Proctor will be on this team – i believe anyway
Thurston just made the team. Glad we cleared up the Conrad/Thurston debate. Not much to be optimistic about with Proctor. He fell apart, 3 straight walks, all over the place, and then lucky to not get taken yard with a BP fastball down the middle.
March 23rd, 20104:03 pm
Frenchy threw OBP under the bus and that’s a problem on here? Tough crowd.
For what it’s worth Wagner thinks WHIP is over rated. Discuss.
March 23rd, 20104:04 pm
Anders – Believe me I know what you mean….Have you ever actually listened to a game called by Chip Carey and Ron Gant………man
Walk to Conrad. Two on and no out
Some of us know baseball and some of us don’t. Heyward has not looked horrible, he’s been fine it’s just baseball. Gotta remember if a player hits .350 he still makes an out 6.5 times out of 10 AB’s. And you folks who say start him in AAA because of contracts, you’ve lost your minds. If the Bravos weren’t contenders I’d say correct, but they are so it’s win now baby you never know when the window will close.
Oh you know, Frank Wren, Bobby Cox, etc.
Hinske = Norton 2.0
March 23rd, 20104:05 pm
WHIP is overrated for certain guys. For certain closers or guys like Jurrjens, lots of guys get on base but don’t score. Especially with closers, you can give up 3 walks, strikeout 3, and you are good to go.
March 23rd, 20104:06 pm
Nick – Only difference is Hinske has two world series rings – hard to dispute
Hinske HBP. Bases loaded & nobody out
Nick = Worthless
LOL, thats pretty similar to Norton, get on base anyway possible, except for the old base hit.
Bases loaded, no outs. Lets see how they ruin this opportunity.
March 23rd, 20104:07 pm
David Ross needs a grand slam to make up for all his crappy play today.
March 23rd, 20104:08 pm
Runners on the corners, 1 out and the Mets lead 7-5.
Sac fly Ross 7-5 Mets.
so, what is Ross doing????
March 23rd, 20104:09 pm
Ross smoked that ball
March 23rd, 20104:10 pm
Conrad scores & is 7-6. 2 out and runner on second
7-6 2-outs runner on 2nd
7-6 runner on second 2 out and Blanco up.
Blanco up, ballgame.
March 23rd, 20104:11 pm
Mets win 7-6.
March 23rd, 20104:12 pm
Almost beat it out, close play at first. At least he put it in play.
Ground out to second Mets win 7-6.
Blanco is about as worthless as they come.
Fourth place……here we come!!!
March 23rd, 20104:13 pm
DIdn’t Brad Penney get lit up yesterday or day before? Like 10 hits 7 runs? I guess his mgr. was letting him build his confidence.
4th? The Nats might be better than the Braves this season.
Whats this ESPN Frenchy quote about.
March 23rd, 20104:14 pm
Who gave up most of the runs today?
March 23rd, 20104:15 pm
March 23rd, 20104:16 pm
Nick – We can’t beat them either so……cellar.
March 23rd, 20104:17 pm
T for Texas Ross’ error.
Yeah, I guess so! I only asked because, it being Ross, I half expected them to give the E to Conrad.
March 23rd, 20104:18 pm
74-88. Tied for 4th place with the Nationals.
March 23rd, 20104:19 pm
I’m at work so didn’t get to see the game but everything I need to know about today’s game, I learned on the MIB blog.
Yunel sucks (and has a bad attitude), David Ross sucks, Conrad or Thurston sucks (I’m not clear on which one), Chipper doesn’t suck as bad as he used to, but he still sucks a little. Glaus probably sucks, Heyward is a bust, McLouth still sucks but had a lucky day (blind squirrel, nut, etc), Proctor sucks, and Jeffy is the greatest RF’er alive and the braves are and idiot for trading him. Oh and, Joe Morgan sucks and should have been FIRED a long time ago.
‘Zat about right?
March 23rd, 20104:20 pm
And in a late development. Blanco sucks. Braves lose. (I think).
Per ESPN’s Chad Forde:
“I just had a GM in the lottery tell me they liked him more than Cole Aldrich.”
Which Kentucky big man is he referring to? Cousins? Patterson? Nope and Nope. He is talking about Kentucky’s 6th – 7th man Daniel Orton.
March 23rd, 20104:21 pm
RHR – the suckiest bunch of sucks that ever sucked. Uh oh gotta go. My weiner kids are listening!!
Are we having fun, kiddies??
Go support your atlanta thrashers tongight and learn to relax it’s spring training. No need to get so excited about our AAA centerfielder not coming through in the clutch. Nobody injured = win. Go Braves
You nailed it. Don’t forget that Bobby is a senile kook and the entire bullpen sucks.
March 23rd, 20104:24 pm
Not a game, not a game, not a game.
RHR, mid-season form on the recap. PROPS!
Although I thought you might have gotten a couple of MORONs and verbal stake-burnings in there, but, hey, that’s just me being picky.
March 23rd, 20104:26 pm
Shane @ 3:24 pm
The most precious commodity in Baseball are outs.
Umm – I thought it was runs. I thought you had to score more runs than the other team to win the game. At least that’s how the final score is kept
March 23rd, 20104:28 pm
Also children’s laughter. Probably the most precious. That and OPS will win every time.
March 23rd, 20104:29 pm
Hey RHR, I guess somebody’s gotta stir the pot. But you missed one, braves were fools for getting rid of KJ.
I want Shane, Shaun, Grinch, and Baseball 101 in a Steel Cage Death Match. Settle the grudge match once and for all, LOL. nolie and i will take turns refereeing.
Leo is my baby daddy! He is soooo hot! Bring him back!
March 23rd, 20104:32 pm
And the Braves Nation misses Leo. I would love to see Leo back on the bench, rocking, and coaching the Braves next year.
March 23rd, 20104:33 pm
Well,I see the troll has been back today. No,not Anders, the troll Nick.
March 23rd, 20104:34 pm
How could I forget KJ? It’s a good thing scoots loves me….
March 23rd, 20104:36 pm
More than a brand new pair of $3000 Weejuns, RHR.
March 23rd, 20104:37 pm
How can we forget McLouth’s big day– He almost doubled his batting average.
The Ghost of P.L.
RHR………………I guess that “and idiot” is some stupid inside joke that you keep rehashing over and over again. It got old well before the first million times you said it.
March 23rd, 20104:39 pm
