McCann bounces out to 1st. 1-0. End of Top 1.
I’ll let you know if that link starts working. I’m currently watching on MLBTV, but I have that link up and running.
[sigh] I miss KJ.
[sigh] Me too.
anyone else got a live online feed?
The Ghost of P.L.
jeffrey d…….key addictions listed were Melky, Wagner, Glaus, and and Saito. Key losses were Garret, Mike Gonzales, Soriano and Vazquez.
Brian from SC
Perez had an amazing lefty-righty split last year…pretty much unheard of for a starting pitcher. Right handers were Jimmie Foxx, left handers were Rafael Belliard.
March 23rd, 20101:23 pm
Mark Biles….maybe he was was granted an ‘honorable’ discharge
Commentary team discussing the “best hitting catcher” tag for McCann had to concede that Mauer is arguably better.
Nice interview Boss. I kinda miss Rockin’ Leo too.
On what grounds do you assume the Phils are 8-10 games better? I’d love to hear your reasoning. Better yet, I’d love to understand the heavy researched method you used to come up with such figures.
u seriously think thought KJ was better than Prado?
I don’t want to get into it. It’s still a sore subject. In fact, if I start getting into it, I’ll start resenting Prado again.
I don’t seem to recall a car chase or helicopters, but I suppose we could use our creative license…
March 23rd, 20101:24 pm
I hope the Braves don’t get too addicted to Wagner, Glaus, and Saito. What if they get hurt?
cant wait to see Hanson dominate the Mets 3-7 hitters
March 23rd, 20101:25 pm
Cora flies to RF.
did you read the part about him wanting to coach alongside his best friend in baseball whom he had known for quite a while? I’d say he left because he thought it would work out better than it did.
March 23rd, 20101:26 pm
I know it doesn’t mean much because it’s spring training, but the Braves have the highest differential of runs scored vs runs allowed in the Grapefruit league. (+20).
eltrompo says, "J-Hey, where strikeouts go to die."
It feels like ST has consisted of the Braves vs. Mets…. Anyone else feel the same?
Can somebody tell me why in the blue hell did Heyward get a day off today of all days? Come on Bobby, those of us in the A-town were dying to see him.
March 23rd, 20101:27 pm
Castillo Ks looking on heat.
We would need bloggers after all… cab
Yes! Mmm…who would I play? I think I want to play the part of Paulie Dentz!
Hanson K’s castillo’s ass.
check back tomorrow or friday – they are going to be on ESPN those days too.
it probly doesn’t mean much, but its still good to know…encouraging that they’re scoring
March 23rd, 20101:28 pm
Ok, it is now working. Its the ESPN feed. Have to install a plug-in though. Takes like 2-3 minutes.
Hanson strikes out castillo…2 down
Bottoms can hardly hold a bat, let alone swing one
David (MVP, Gold Glove, Silver Slugger, face of NY) Wright grounds weakly to 3rd. 3 up 3 down.
Chipper flashin’ the leather.
Wright ground ball to third.
Wright grounds out to Chipper, quick inning for Tommy
VP, the Braves will be on ESPN again tomorrow and Friday. I’m sure you’ll catch Heyward in one or both.
hanson makes cake out of their hitters. haha, chipper almost booted that grounder
March 23rd, 20101:29 pm
You see that 94 mph heater on the outside corner from Hanson?
March 23rd, 20101:30 pm
Roman Gal……..your resentment is misguided. If Kelly didnt SUCK so much, Prado never would have had an opportunity to unseat Kelly at second.
My question to you is this: Where does your allegiance lie first? The Braves team or individual players? My reasoning is that if one is truly a BRAVES FAN first and foremost, then one would want to see the players out on the field who gives us a best chance to win.
Prado and Diaz’s emergence helped kick start the Braves offense in the 2nd half of the last season. Sure, I maybe understand you taking a liking to Kelly. However, do you want your desire to see Kelly given chance after chance to SUCK override your desire to see the Braves win?
This Mets lineup looks like it could score 8 runs off of Derek Lowe.
March 23rd, 20101:31 pm
Nice inning for Tommy.
so did chipper flash the leather, or almost boot it? (i’m at work, therefore not watching)
Really? I’m sure we could find a better role for you (plus, I think you may need to fight Tom for that part )
March 23rd, 20101:32 pm
Diaz is one of the top five hitters in the majors against lefties. Perez is probably the worst pitcher in baseball against righties. What do you think will happen?
diaz flies out
Matty Diaz almost going yard. Nice gust of wind there.
If Jeffrey D is in the movie then I want a role as well. I can be Jack Bauer’s protege………
March 23rd, 20101:33 pm
Joe Morgan tooting his own horn.
Mclouth singles to center!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THATABOY NATE!!!!!! WOOHOOO!!!!!
THERE WE GO NATE!
Nate gets a solid single up the middle
Well there ya go Nate
Just goes to show, even if you hit .400 against someone, you’re still gonna be out more times than not.
Oliver Perez is the perfect cure for one’s slump. Nice rip Nate.
Beautiful swing, McLouth.
Nate got a hit!!!
Nova Scotia Steve
Nate looked good on that swing
McOut didnt get out!
All right Nate!
March 23rd, 20101:34 pm
Great to see Nate get a hit. That wasn’t a cheapy either he hit a solid line drive.
Nate heatin’ up!
LOL…it’s like he just hit a walkoff homer or something….
woooohoooo Nate….thank you Oliver Perez for being so terrible.
I would be happy if Hanson just stood in the batter’s box and not move
March 23rd, 20101:35 pm
McLouth is ready. Start the season now.
Hanson struck otu
Stop the presses! Nate has a hit!
I’m glad, hopefully this gets him propelled in the right direction.
Mets announcers said Schafer is going to play today…interesting. Didn’t know that.
Nice to see Francoeur tearing it up with the .194 batting average.
March 23rd, 20101:36 pm
Alright – Nate going to get 3 hits today – mark it down!!
LOL.. so Franceour isn’t doing too great either?
March 23rd, 20101:37 pm
Mets announcers said Schafer is going to play today…interesting.
Really?! They weren’t just trying to get our hopes up, were they?
this time last yr francoeur was swattin’ singles all over the place and we were all excited that he’d hit really well.
MFin04- did they really say that about Schafer? That will be cool!
Tim Tebow's Tears
Hell just froze over with a hit from McLouth
March 23rd, 20101:38 pm
i’d love it if schafer got in there today
Lol, I dunno, they are the Mets announcers. They still think Beltran and Reyes are going to return from their injuries.
That was nasty curve for strike 2
nasttttty hammer from hanson
This blog is on fire for a spring training game. Awesome. Get a job people
March 23rd, 20101:39 pm
hopefully mclouth will get going and everyone from the blog who has been trashing him will let up a little and realize that a guy doesn’t go from hitting .260 to .031 over the span of one offseason. he’s a solid player, not a superstar, but a solid player who does a lot of things well.
March 23rd, 20101:40 pm
Leo needs to get over the O’s thing. We get it, they stink and you can’t stand them. Come on Leo, lighten up, enjoy the free paycheck and move on.
nate got a hit? man I’m gonna play the lotto tonight!
thats just it…we have jobs….and were at those jobs…and were bored…and baseball is on…and the season is about to start…
Thanks for all the mentions about the DOB interview. I posted about it last night, but wanted to make sure all of the daytime people saw it as well (this will be the last spam, I promise). DOB spends a lot of time talking about the blog as well great stuff about the 2010 team. You can listen here. Thanks.
Most of us have jobs…
civilized white trash
are you sure they said schafer i am sure they said heyward
Frank Robinson (Rockmart)
Oh boy! Here goes Joe Morgan. It’s more important for Jason Bay to just put the ball in play with a runner on third than for him to reach 100 RBI’s. Yeah, that will actually be key in helping the Braves get to the playoffs!
March 23rd, 20101:41 pm
Mazonne Blew it…a chance to be part of a real good pitching staff and overall very good team….they just might be the ones to beat this year……Leo….after Bobby goes out a winner you guys will have plenty of time to fish together….taking the money and running off to Baltimore wasn’t the right thing to do…it probably won’t be your last mistake in life………so go cry in your beer…………
March 23rd, 20101:42 pm
Am I the only one that thinks Greg Madux would be a great replacement for Bobby Cox when he retires? The guy is so baseball smart and everyone loves him. I say we make him the coach and let Smoltz or Glavin be the pitching coach. With a good front office, we would go on to win another 14 strait.
Jeff Stincouer at the plate now.
Did the last batter strike out?
Daniel Murphy is a good hitter, just not what that Mutt troll kept spewing all over this place about a year ago. Remember that? DOB got back at him good though.
joe morgan’s commentary is very unhealthy listening for anyone with half a baseball brain. he makes chip caray look like skip caray.
jeff “see through” blauser-
I hear ya brother. I need a job myself to be bored with.
March 23rd, 20101:43 pm
I really wish FireJoeMorgan was still up and running. *sigh* Those guys were the best.
March 23rd, 20101:44 pm
i think Mad dog is being groomed to hang around the Cubs organization for quite a while…i’d love to see him in almost any capacity with the braves organization though.
wow frenchy with a tough AB
is that a reference to my fair complexion?
Hey Skip, long time listener, first time caller. Could you explain how to calculate E.R.A. ?
March 23rd, 20101:45 pm
Come on Tommy, a walk to the strike out machine?
r u kiddin me?
LEO MAZZONE IS A FLIPPIN MORON!!! I CAN’T STAND LISTENING TO HIM ON 680 IN THE MORNING!!! HE IS A HAS BEEN PITCHING COACH AND HIS PERSONALITY IS THAT OF AN ORANGE. HIS FORMER PLAYERS THINK HE IS A TOOL AS WELL, CONFIRMED. I WISH HE WOULD GO COACH IN JAPAN SO WE WOULDN’T HAVE TO HEAR HIS VOICE ANYMORE!
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
