On the phone with Directv right now trying to figure out WTH is going on.
If Nate struggles and Schafer looks good in AAA, I wouldn’t be surprised if they look at trading Nate.
McLouth was twice the player in Pittsburgh. Or, maybe that was just against us….whatever, he’s yet to impress me either since he’s been here. Weak in all areas. Schafer as a replacement? Hah, don’t make me laugh anymore, guy is horrible.
the game is on CSS
Home of the Braves
March 9th, 20107:56 pm
Internet-Jesus: Its on CSS here if you get that.
Tomahawkin: Seeing as Huddy is still 4th all-time at Auburn in Hrs in a season (hit 18 in ‘97), I’ll put my money on him.
I think Halladay is throwing a cutter, not a splitter Brian Jordan. Mercy, I like Jordan, but listening to him announce is like fingernails on a chalk board.
Nate-Dawg must cut down on his K’s to be kept the leading off…otherwise I’d go with Prado or Matty-D….
Are you joking?
March 9th, 20107:57 pm
Chipper grounds out 4-3. Inning over.
There have been hints that McLouth is having vision problems a la McCann. Must be the Mc thing.
March 9th, 20107:58 pm
So what’s the logic to blacking out the game locally?
Anyone know who else is scheduled to pitch today?
The Ghost of P.L.
Our offense is looking eerily similar to last years, lol.
Billy Wagner in to pitch against the Phillies to start fourth
March 9th, 20107:59 pm
TnBrian – agree.. its a cutter… and it looks like the one Mo Rivera throws when he throws it to a righty like that… got Prado twice with it.
Braves game is on CSS which is Comcast sports or Charter sports. It’s the Brian Jordan feed on CSS that will also broadcast the Gwinnett Braves games this year.
Lot of Phillies fans here — Wagner just got booed by a good portion of the crowd. Place is packed.
March 9th, 20108:00 pm
Werth strikes out swinging. 1 out.
March 9th, 20108:01 pm
Wags strikes out the Werth-man (check swing in the dirt).
Nasty slider by the way
Werth has the wolfman look going.
Getting really $hitty feed right now. Anyone else? Major audio problems.
March 9th, 20108:02 pm
Fransisco gets hit by a pitch. 1 on 1 out
Francisco gets hit on the back foot on a breaking ball.
None for me Heath.
Getting really $hitty feed right now. Anyone else? Major audio problems.
No problems here
Coach (2011 or Bust)
Jason Heyward = Darryl Strawberry.
And just for chits and giggles, Jason Werth looks like Jesus….as if the Phillies needed anymore help.
March 9th, 20108:03 pm
Wagner looks sharp.
Who else is scheduled to pitch after Wagner?
Heyward Up Heyward Down………your 7:53pm post is naive and unrealistic. The Braves can afford to just have Heyward start off the year in Atlanta without factoring in the financial ramifications down the line.
Your “let 2016 take care of itself” comment doesnt take into account the acceleration of raises that would be due Heyward if his arbitration clock wasnt delayed.
Just ask the San Francisco Giants if they would have waited an extra 10 days to call up Tim Lincecum back in 2007 if they could go back and do it all over again. I’ll give you $9 million reasons why they would.
Wagner playing toss with Glaus.
March 9th, 20108:04 pm
Checked a few other stations…not that. Just the audio for this game. All of a sudden too. And not getting corrected. Booo!
Werth looks and sounds like an ignorant redneck!!
Tomahawkin – now that we got heyward up. I think Yunel would be good in the lead. He isn’t a speedster but he gets on base alot.
Heath………I’m experiences audio problems as well with my feed on Direct TV.
March 9th, 20108:05 pm
snieder (misspelled) grounds into 4-6-3 DP. inning over.
DP to end the inning. Atleast the video works…
Schneider hits into a DP. Low throw back to Glaus, but he digs it out.
I have a bad audio feed too…
I mean “cant afford” at the beginning of my 8:03pm post.
Rob from SC
March 9th, 20108:06 pm
Prado is an interesting choice to lead off. He doesn’t K a lot
DOB, bandwagon Philly fan I take it? People are so childish. I mean, my 7 year old cousin likes the Phillies and Yankees now because they were in the WS, but he’s 7.
March 9th, 20108:07 pm
Madsen pitching for the Phils
Ausio just got fixed… ty. That was getting really annoying.
Finally, the audio seems to be fixed.
March 9th, 20108:08 pm
The Ghost of P.L.
“Heath………I’m experiences audio problems as well with my feed on Direct TV.”
Oh man, and they were just talking about hoe the Braves should start Heyward at AAA.. something about super 2 and arbitration or something…
Find A Clue
GboroBravo: I’m in Atlanta so I just get it as part of my local package with DirectTV on channel 17. But I believe they show the Peachtree TV games on channel 617 if you are outside of Atlanta.
Glaus ropes a single to left. 1 on none out
With Heyward, this is a big team. Chipper 6-4, Glaus 6-5, McCann 6-3, Heyward 6-5, Escobar 6-2.
Another basehit for Glaus. Save some for the reg. season big boy.
March 9th, 20108:09 pm
Now that was a real “hot shot” past the shortstop……not the Harry Doyle type, lol.
Ghost, the one and only who, what, when, where and why Jason Heyward will start the season with the Braves…………..
If Glaus Stays healthy…gosh, that will definitely turn out to be one of the best signings this past offseason.
Is DirecTV better than cable? I mean price wise, I believe cable is slightly cheaper. But does it beat out cable?
March 9th, 20108:10 pm
B-Mac doubles to left. Runners on 2nd and 3rd with none out.
2nd and 3rd…double to left for McCann
Speed, not one of Glaus’ strengths. But the man is 7-for-7 in his past three games.
Great swing by McCann.
Say what you want about Werth…..the guy can flat out play and “brings it” in all facets of the game. He can play on MY team anytime.
Give it a rest. I wasn’t being serious.
March 9th, 20108:11 pm
run in… 1st and 2nd
Yunel grounds out. Glaus scores. Runner on 2nd 1 out. 2-1 Phils
OK…get the popcorn. Heyward up now…
March 9th, 20108:12 pm
While it’s nice to see Glaus string together some hits, it would be nice to see some power. After all, he’s batting clean-up.
Then again, many of you were more than content with Greg “the only way I can get on base is if the pitcher forgets how to trow strikes” Norton drawing walks when he came up to pinch hit.
March 9th, 20108:13 pm
Madsen is in for the Phils. Halladay looked pretty good. He’s going to be a tough customer every five days.
Heyward Up Heyward Down
March 9th, 20108:14 pm
Yeah Ghost of PL and the Giants had NO CHANCE of making the playoffs in 2007! The Braves do have a chance this year and you are talking about a player who can make contributions EVERY DAY not a guy who is pitching once every five days.
Ghost, I propose that YOU are the one who is naive! The Braves have a chance to win this year and not breaking camp with Heyward tells the fans they aren’t serious about winning. Now Ghost if you want to make the charge that the Braves are more concerned with making money for Liberty Media than in winning, I might buy that. Then it’s up to the fans if they want to send the Braves a message by not supporting an organization that will not put their best personnel on the field that gives them a chance to win.
Werth is in a Contract Year… and I think the Phils are gonna let him walk since he will command a Jason Bay-like contract…Plus the Phils already have OF prospects on deck for 2011…
Heyward battles back to get to 3-2
Heyward walks. Looking very patient.
Nice thing about ST. They can’t leave Halladay in the entire game. Glaus is now batting a rather rousing .727. I predict he will end the year lower than than.
Coming back from an 0-2 count, Heyward draws a walk.
March 9th, 20108:15 pm
Heyward walks. runners on 1st and 2nd.
This kid has a very, very good eye. Some tough pitches he laid off of.
Heyward has an eagle eye up there. Frenchy would’ve been K’d 3 pitches ago.
no way the Phils resign Werth. He’s going to get a big payday. The Mets will probably sign him!
bases loaded on error.
Cabrera reaches on E-5. Bases Loaded.
The Milkman hits a shot to third. Error on the 3B. Bases loaded, one out.
Larry (in SC)
March 9th, 20108:16 pm
DirecTV is cheaper than cable…and far superior. IMO
They gave Heyward a hit on that error by Rollins in the second inning. I’m sorry, but that was a clear error.
Meanwhile, I have to say that Heyward has a good batting eye. He’s laying off some close pitches. That was a good walk after falling behind 0-2.
If Heyward is successful in establishing a reputation that he has a good batting eye, then umpires will give him the benefit of the doubt on close pitches, which would be a good plus.
Wild pitch to the screen but McCann throws out an anchor at third.
Hinske at the plate.
TNBrian – Who’s Frenchy?
Error on Dobbs as he let a double play ball eat him up by not getting in front of it. bases loaded.
If Heyward is this patient…why not put him in front of Chipper. Having two patient, eagle-eye guys batting back-to-back to begin a ballgame to help increase the pitcher’s pitch count has to be a good thing.
Superior how, Larry?
March 9th, 20108:17 pm
That’s no Greg Norton!!
Even when healthy, I don’t think Glaus has ever hit over .700 for an entire season.
Hinskels w/ a 2 run double.
Looper into the RF corner. Braves score 2. 2nd and 3rd. One out.
Hinske doubles to right. 3-2 Braves.
Hinske, what a great bench pickup for the Braves.
Enter your comments here3-2…on double to right by Hinske. 2nd and 3rd now.
Hinske does a nice job of turning on the inside fastball…
And it just cost the Phillies two runs on Hinske’s double to right field.
The Phillies have Domonic Brown, who should be ready next year. Maybe they can trade Ibanez to free up money for Werth.
Glad to see it wasn’t just me that’s blacked out.
Why is it blacked out? Because CSS has the rights to show it? And why is MLBTV airing an Atlanta game that’s blacked out in Atlanta (and neighbors)
Do not mention the name Heyward in the same sentence as Francoeur or I will kill you!
March 9th, 20108:18 pm
Greg Norton…with a 2-run double….
Was just thinking that same thing about Hinske. He is so much of an upgrade over Norton…gosh, we might actually be looking forward to pinch-hitting for the pitcher this year.
Ryan Madson no longer wantsto be here
