McLouth was twice the player in Pittsburgh. Or, maybe that was just against us….whatever, he’s yet to impress me either since he’s been here. Weak in all areas. Schafer as a replacement? Hah, don’t make me laugh anymore, guy is horrible.

Heyward Up Heyward Down………your 7:53pm post is naive and unrealistic. The Braves can afford to just have Heyward start off the year in Atlanta without factoring in the financial ramifications down the line.
Your “let 2016 take care of itself” comment doesnt take into account the acceleration of raises that would be due Heyward if his arbitration clock wasnt delayed.
Just ask the San Francisco Giants if they would have waited an extra 10 days to call up Tim Lincecum back in 2007 if they could go back and do it all over again. I’ll give you $9 million reasons why they would.

While it’s nice to see Glaus string together some hits, it would be nice to see some power. After all, he’s batting clean-up.
Then again, many of you were more than content with Greg “the only way I can get on base is if the pitcher forgets how to trow strikes” Norton drawing walks when he came up to pinch hit.

Yeah Ghost of PL and the Giants had NO CHANCE of making the playoffs in 2007! The Braves do have a chance this year and you are talking about a player who can make contributions EVERY DAY not a guy who is pitching once every five days.
Ghost, I propose that YOU are the one who is naive! The Braves have a chance to win this year and not breaking camp with Heyward tells the fans they aren’t serious about winning. Now Ghost if you want to make the charge that the Braves are more concerned with making money for Liberty Media than in winning, I might buy that. Then it’s up to the fans if they want to send the Braves a message by not supporting an organization that will not put their best personnel on the field that gives them a chance to win.

They gave Heyward a hit on that error by Rollins in the second inning. I’m sorry, but that was a clear error.
Meanwhile, I have to say that Heyward has a good batting eye. He’s laying off some close pitches. That was a good walk after falling behind 0-2.
If Heyward is successful in establishing a reputation that he has a good batting eye, then umpires will give him the benefit of the doubt on close pitches, which would be a good plus.
